With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
"Not a single thing, " he answered. The questions that followed made Lars fall into deep thought, his eyes pinned to a diagram of some kind of runic inscription. "I... I don't think I've ever been 'into' anyone? I'm not even sure what that means. All I know is that I like to hang out with people who... Who aren't like Greyson. And who aren't wet rags like Belanger. I have exactly 3 people I consider friends in this school, and that would be you, Mia-Rose and Viola. And I've never considered any of you more than a friend, and all three of you are very different, so..." he looked at her, his eyebrows furrowed. "What does it say about me that I only hang out with girls and yet don't want to kiss any of them?" Never mind the fact that he'd kissed two out of the three mentioned, but Lydia didn't need to know that. Lars would absolutely lose his patience if she mentioned something about being left out.
And there she went with that faux guilt tripping that made Lars roll his eyes and stick out his tongue at her as he gently poked her with his elbow. He didn't really consider anyone his 'best' friend -- they were just people to hang out with when he was bored, and he didn't prefer any of them over the other. Though, he did sneak into the Restricted section with Mia-Rose and not Lydia or Viola. Did that make them best friends? Hm.
"I'd never want to screw you, no offence to you either," he answered. "That is one thing I'm sure of. Let's not even think about that, I don't want to make our friendship weird."

"Maybe she just doesn't, y'know, do it for you," Lydia suggested musingly, pulling at her hair to tighten the hair tie that bound it before pausing. "Hmm, maybe you just haven't hit puberty yet then." She held a very serious face before cracking a small smile, shrugging one-shouldered. "I dunno, I guess it says that you're more into girl friends than you are hanging around boys who annoy you, and that you just don't feel like kissing us. Completely offended, by the way, that you don't want to kiss me and my mostly virginal lips."
Musing over his question a little more, Lydia eventually suggested, "Maybe you're asexual, or something? I don't know how you tell, but I was reading about it in some trash Witch Weekly article the other day - which, by the way, was not mine because I'd never stoop to such lows and read an article with so many editing errors - that people who are asexual just aren't sexually into other people... there was this whole spectrum thing, so it's not just that but it's a thing."
"Maybe if we did, you could get 'call Lars Sundby for a good time' written on the bathroom stalls too," Lydia said before laughing, shaking her head. It stung, reading that kind of shite scrawled about her on walls, but joking about it made her feel just a little bit better about it.
Taking her lucky quill in hand, Lydia continued to talk to Lars as she worked on her latest assignment for Ancient Runes, until finally she was concentrating so hard on the task in front of her that she faded into a comfortable silence.
