With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

"I practice a lot of things in the mirror. Can you blame me? It's a hell of a view staring back at me," Matheus immediately joked, breaking into a grin once more because he really was proving he had a 'flirtatious rebuttal' to everything she said, wasn't he? As Vik brought up that it was preferable he didn't get hypothermia, Matheus gave her a very serious nod. "So that's a yes to cuddling then, Vik?" He raised his arm, gesturing towards it with a nod. If she wanted a cuddle, she was free to sidle up to him. If not, then that was cool too. Someone else could experience a nice little snuggle from him later.
"So your parents are betrothed then? Did it go well or...?" Matheus trailed off. If they were happily married, then why wouldn't they be interested in a similar fate for their daughter? Perhaps she'd beat the odds and land a husband she'd fall in love with too. "D'you wanna become a magizoologist too, or are you learning wandless magic to help them out?"
As Vik all but admitted that he'd been the only one to make her laugh like this, Matheus tried his best not to grin from ear to ear. It made him feel... special, hearing something like that. "Do you want to be kissed then?" he asked. It sounded like an offer, and in a way... it kind of was. He'd happily lock lips with Vik if she wanted to be, but... if she didn't want him to kiss her, then he could maybe help her find someone that she did want to kiss.
Letting out a laugh at the declaration that others negative opinions = dragon dung, Matheus shook his head. "Maybe I should tell that to the next person who tells me I'm a slag then. I'll say you told me to say it too," he teased, before pushing some curls out of his eyes once more. "I'm never going to live knocking you into the lake down, am I?"

"Im sure many would find it an enjoyable view, c She chuckled as she shook her head as he began tooting his own horn. To be honestly, she was pretty modest but she was starting to feel like a party-pooping nun in comparison. He was so... Vibrant. She was fun and could joke around, but she was nearly as outgoing and reckless as he could bolster. In a way, she was quite envious. She moved over next to him, " Dont get any wild ideas, Casanova. This is strictly to prevent you from freezing off any parts you may need later, " The girl joked, rubbing her together in front of the little fire, leaning slightly towards it's warmth.
"No, they weren't, " She replied, " But I suppose their families made it clear it was the expectation. I don't know every detail, just that it was an unhealthy bias, " She didn't mind the idea of arranged marriage if that was the preference of both parties, but they didn't really paint the possibility of any options, " I've nothing against people's choice in arranged marriages, I just don't plan on restricting myself to the idea myself, " She remarked, looking over, " But it's also a bit early for me to get too stuck on the matter. Maybe I'll find a nice witch or wizard and plant roots, or maybe ill be a polyamorous gypsy that travels the world in a magical caravan documenting dragons and what have you, " She chuckled a bit, " Who knows?"
She gave a wistful sigh as she smiled over at him, " A tempting offer from a proper gentleman, " She fained her heart had been swept up jokingly as she put her hand to her chest, before she couldn't help but chuckle, " Perhaps under better circumstances-- When I'm a little wiser, more reckless, and less wet with lake water, " She joked. She would've certainly entertained the idea... Maybe. To be honest, she didn't know how to be reckless-- at least not when it came to kissing someone so suddenly. "But I'm certain you'd make a first kiss with you nearly as memorable as this, " She teased.
"Well, if any one calls you a slag you can certainly blame me, and send them my way, " She remarked, " I don't think the backlash would last very long, " Of all the things the little bookworm could be gifted in, spells was at the top. "Probably not, " She smirked, " But it'll be interesting to watch you try."

"Me? Exhausting to watch? Never," Matheus retorted, a grin sliding onto his lips once more. It was clear that she was teasing him, although there probably was a speckle of truth about how exhausting constantly being flirted with was. "I do everything in front of a mirror." Everything meant... well, everything, and Matheus sent a little wink to Vik so she knew that no, he did not mean that innocently at all. Lifting his arm up, Matheus wrapped it around Vik's petite shoulders because hey, she didn't want him to get hypothermia. She said it herself, and he was totally going to take advantage. "Let me know if my arm gets too heavy. I know it weighs a lot - all the strength it's got inside it, you know?"
"Shit, man. You're really smart, you know that? Wandless magic is something that's meant to be really hard," he said letting out a low whistle and a small shake of his head. "You and me have something in common though, y'know? My parents - they were both born in Brazil. My father - if you can even call him that - went to Castelobruxo for his first year of school, and my māe went there for the five of her but she finished up at Hogwarts where she met my father." It was actually a pretty sour topic, now that he'd brought it up. Matheus had a lot of not so great feelings towards the man, the one who had just abandoned him, Nico, Izabel and left his māe scrambling for enough money to just pay the rent. For the first year, they'd barely skimmed by and only just managed... but when his māe had been fired when taking time off to care for a sick Izabel, things had gotten worse. Matheus still remembered the pangs of hunger that had shot through his belly, the way he tried to put on a brave face as he sat huddled on a bed with Izabel and Nico, wondering when his next meal would be. It turned out in only a few hours when their avó found out and scraped the bottom of her coin jar to pay for pizza but those had been rough days. Really rough. Even now, his māe struggled to make ends meet most of the time but it was easier without him and Nico living under the same roof all year long.
It didn't come as a surprise that Vik had never kissed anyone, but he had to admit that he was internally a bit pleased that he'd made her laugh like this. That was always good to hear. "As valuable as dragon dung... I like that," he said with his own laugh before scrambling to his feet, offering her his hand. "Can't say you make it easy to flirt with you, but it's been fun. Maybe we can hang out again soon?" Glancing towards the lake that was steadily gaining a dark cloud over it, Matheus nodded his head towards the castle. "Walk you back? Promise I won't knock you into the bushes or anything."
