With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

HISTORY
To the world, Samantha Banks is the quirky middle-aged witch who lives alone in the countryside and will probably end up leaving all her money to a small, fluffy dog someday.
The real story is far more interesting. But the real story is what the Ministry cannot know.
Samantha was born to well-to-do Muggle parents in England at the close of the 1960s, their only child, yet raised by a nanny and sent to boarding school as soon as she reached the age for it. As such, the Ministry of Magic official who came to explain magic to the family had to come several months after Samantha’s eleventh birthday, when she was home for Christmas. Sent off to Hogwarts and sorted into Hufflepuff, the girl was thrown suddenly into a world not only unfamiliar, but at war with an entity Samantha could barely understand. And then a few months after she arrived--it all ended. But those months of fear would stick with her, would make her remember what it was like to be young and powerless in the face of terrifying forces.
The rest of her school years went much more smoothly. She became prefect in her fifth year, graduating with good marks, and then going on to a Muggle university according to her parents’ wishes, studying international relations. As such, it was not too hard to find herself a position in the Ministry of Magic, as an assistant to the British delegation to the International Confederation of Wizards, even getting to meet Dumbledore himself on occasion. That, at least, was the kind of profession her parents approved of.
But then, right as she was about to leave for a conference, Samantha received the news that her parents were gone. Car crash, dead on the scene. A tragedy, and another of those moments that would shape her life forever. She felt incredibly alone in the world, especially as her inheritance brought people out of the woodwork just to beg her for money. She needed to get away from it all, at least for some time, and decided to take some time off work and take a trip to the other side of the world.
Samantha was an inexperienced hiker, but she was convinced that her wand would be enough to get her out of any tight spots she might encounter. She wanted to be in nature, where no human could bother her, and nothing was going to convince her not to go. But magic wasn’t going to save her from the night she estimated the distance of her hike wrong, stayed out too late, was bitten. Had to stop the bleeding with dittany picked from the ground, combined with a piece of her own silver jewelry. As if she hadn’t already felt so alone, then she was truly on her own, not knowing if she was going to live or die. Yet that would become possibly the best thing that could have happened to her at that time. Nobody saw her being attacked, nobody would even see the scars on her torso if she was wearing clothes. Upon her return to Britain, nobody knew a thing.
Samantha knew it couldn’t stay like that forever--at least, not if she remained at a job with such a demanding schedule. But then she remembered she could move. Her parents had purchased a piece of land in the Cotswolds as a summer home before their death, land and a cottage that were now free for her to use, outside of the city. She quit her job at the Ministry, selling the city house and beginning to invest her money from a distance, gaining her income that way.
She laid low during the Second Wizarding War, watching in horror at Fenrir Greyback’s savagery and his pack’s loyalty to Voldemort. He was, she was convinced, the reason why the prejudice had been so strong that she had to hide herself away in order to avoid the Ministry ever knowing of her status. She became determined to change something, to prove that the murderous werewolves were just an evil few--but how?
The answer came the first time she had to shelter a young, new werewolf on her land. The kid, full of confusion and fear, reminded her so much of herself when she had discovered the First Wizarding War going on when she was eleven. And how was that won? People coming together, using what resources they had, keeping their honor in the face of the dishonorable. And the new generation of Greybacks was just as dishonorable as the last--but if she could only show the Ministry that those wolves were the small minority, only one family gone bad, that the rest of them could all integrate right back into wizarding society they had come from. (And then she would be free to live her life once more...)
She began building contacts. Carefully, not wanting to expose herself, she started to write to known werewolves with good records. Slowly, it became a pack--but not a pack like the Trossachs, she told herself, one that worked like real wolf packs did in the wild: as a family. Samantha, who had never had the chance to be married or have kids due to hiding her lycanthropy, began to view them all as her children, those she wanted to have a better life than she herself had been able to. With the income from her investments, she was able to give them some money for their activism, and with her home base at her cottage, she was able to give them a safe place to transform.
But despite the efforts of the Cotswolds, things with the Ministry seemed to be getting worse, not better. Since 2016, Samantha has been getting less and less optimistic about the chances of their activism succeeding. If it were only her, she might consider going back into even deeper hiding. But abandoning the pack means abandoning those she has given herself the obligation to help, and she cannot do that. She must continue the work.
If he hadn't been Scarlett's boyfriend, Nadya thought she would much like a man like Teddy. Living proof, just like Nadya was sure she herself was, that beings were just as intelligent and deserving as humans. As it was, there was no chance in hell she would do anything to break up her friend's relationship--not before, and especially not now. She only hoped she'd find someone like him for when she wanted her own child--wolf or any other type of creature. For any other person, that requirement might be strange, but for Nadya, it seemed only logical: if she was a being, she would have the best relationships with others like her.
But that was someday. Scarlett was now. Scarlett who was usually so confident and proud that Nadya barely noticed the height difference between them, but now seemed far too young to be dealing with a pregnancy. "I'm no expert, no. Just someone who cares," she said, reaching out and squeezing Scarlett's shoulder. "I've got tea leaves, and I'll find whatever else we might need. Sit down, maybe?" she said, gesturing at Scarlett's bed. "Are you talking about sneaking into the prefects' bathroom? I've never been. I bet it would be amazing." She grinned. That would make them both far more relaxed than a dorm shower ever could.
Sitting on the end of Scarlett's bed, Nadya leaned back on her hands, continuing to watch her roommate to make sure she was feeling alright. "Yes, going home. I don't think I can handle being locked up in this castle any longer." If she couldn't go to Hogsmeade, she could at least spend her break catching up with people in London.
