With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
There was a certain kind of exasperation in Alexander as he approached the stairs to the Owlery. Clutched in his hand was a letter to his older brother, a little crumpled but in reasonably good condition. He'd written it that morning but had only gotten around to get to the Owlery in the late afternoon, after classes had finished. It was close to dinner time, but Alex wasn't running behind enough to miss dinner. If he was late, he could just say that there were Prefect duties to be done, which sounded a lot better than he just lost track of time while sketching. The Ravenclaw stepped against the stairwell wall for a moment as a small group made their way downstairs. He gave them a polite smile and then continued up the stairs.
Gabriel had sent Alexander a new notebook, which was lovely but totally not worth it. His brother didn't even have a job, it was no time to send him gifts. It wasn't near his birthday or Christmas yet, so Alex had to wonder what he was being buttered up for. Even if he was being bribed for something, he really didn't like the idea that Gabriel had been wasting his money, so he'd written a lengthy rant in his letter. Alex would read through it again during the afternoon and found it was a little too scornful. He had been too lazy to rewrite it, so instead, he was now standing in a room full of owls with a rambling letter to send.
His eyes searched the many birds, carefully avoiding the small piles of swept up poo and bedding. It was quieter in the Owlery than he had expected, it was almost nice...other than the odour of course. His search ended directly in front of Olivia, a fellow 5th year. He gave her a beaming smile, "Hey, sorry. I think my owl is behind you."

Ever since Ollie got herself involved with a boy her brothers have been on her case. Of course they try to protect her from the boy but honestly this was not their business and though she loved and cherished her family dearly, she wanted to keep this between her and Gabriel. Ollie had written them letters thanking her mother for the cookies, her father for the soft blanket he forgot to give her sooner and her brother for the pepperspray.
Ollie was giving her letters to her father's owl, Prudence, when she heard a voice behing her. Ollie turned around like lightning and gave Alexander the sweetest smile she could give herself.
"Oh am I? I am so sorry." she skipped out of the way and watched Prudence fly off. "Bye Prudence!" she waved the owl off and picked up her bag of goodies.
"Sending something to your family?" she asked kindly.

Ollie knew how important family was, if it weren't for the Jones family she'd be homeless or still an orphan and she was grateful that wasn't the case. This ofcourse lead to her having a lot of siblings, some were even in school here and she still loved them a lot.
"You must love your brother very much." she said and was a bit confused about his glare like she was about to say something bad. "My brother is a police officer for muggles, he is really good at it but it's a scary job. He knows about our world and he sometimes tries to tell me to do some good with magic for the muggles." she said and shrugged.
"I would if I could but they say it's not allowed, that's kind of sad isn't it?" she eyed the owls fly off and smiled. "I want to help people when I get out of school. I don't care if they're not fully human, everyone deserves care." she then turned to head out.
"He cares about you, that's a good thing Alex." she said and leaned in to kiss his cheek before making a move to get out of the tower. "Let's go get some food together then! I'm starving too." she told him and smiled.
"My holiday was good, we went out with our boat and spent a few days on the water. I even did some diving. How was yours?"
