With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

feathers in my hair
Why Dani wasn't in her dorm, she didn't know. Alright, she did know, it was because she wanted to complain to Lydia but Lydia wasn't there and they didn't actually have a magical triplet sense of finding each other, but still, she would prefer to pretend not to know. She'd been stressed ever since returning to Hogwarts for the year, in between N.E.W.T. classes and all the Durmstrang students and, of course...
Rowan Howard.
It seemed like she was seeing him constantly, in the Great Hall, in at least half her classes, even just walking through the halls. And every time she wanted to say something, but it always seemed like he had one of the girls in his own year around. Just like he had at the party, Dani would always think, miserably, resolving not to care that what they'd done together at the Astronomy Tower that night had been only a fling. As if the compliments he'd given her, the long conversation they'd had, all hadn't made her feel like they had a connection.
But it couldn't be true. He had been all over Mavican then and he had been like that in class, too, and Dani couldn't help but feel like she should have learned something from Lydia.
It was only that, even after it all, she was pretty sure she still did like him.
Mavican was having a hard day. To be honest she wasn't even in the mood to be social. The girl missed her girlfriend a lot and was cuddling into the jacket that she stole from Shay, it still smelled like her and she just found herself missing her more than usual. The redhead was holding onto a letter and was debating on sending it, it had the most graphical writing she had ever written because Mavican never had to write her sexual needs before. She often acted on them rather than write them down.
She supposed for the next couple of months, this was her life. Seeing Shay only during certain weekends was her life. Thank god she had Rowan, he was her bestest of friend and when she does ever decide on marriage, he will be her bridesmaid. Oh yes, she had planned a dress for him and everything. The guy was the one person she leaned on in this school, with her other friend being in the same position she's in, Mavican didn't want to bother Morgan with her own needy worries and whines.
Mavican had to act on her deal with Rowan, she should introduce him to Shay sometime. As Mavican was walking down from the towers, she found herself on the north wing. She never really seemed to hang out here but at this moment she had found herself standing in the north wing. Maybe she should find Rowan and ask his opinion on sending the letter. As the thought ran through her mind she didn't even notice a girl nearby and neither did she notice running into a vase.
"Shit!" she groaned and barely managed to catch the thing. Knowing her luck the vase is worth hundreds of galleons and she had zero. "Crap... please tell me there isn't even a bloody crack!" the Irish girl cursed to herself and put the vase down. She eyed the girl and tried to remember where she knew her from. Was she the girl her best friend drooled over in class? Or maybe he had the hots for the teacher? Mavican honestly didn't know or care at this point.
"You saw nothing." there was a hint of a charming smile on her lips. If she were single she might actually consider doing this girl, she was pretty in a way, not her type per se but what was her type really?

feathers in my hair
Staring off into the room, feeling restless, wondering if she shouldn't just get up and go somewhere else, or at least work off some frustrated energy by walking, Dani didn't notice the presence of the very redhead she didn't want to think about until the girl was right in front of her, cursing as she almost knocked a vase right off the table, forcing Dani's attention onto her.
Sighing, she looked up, forcing her face into a smile at Mavican's words. There was no reason not to be nice, right? Even if Dani would rather sulk. It wasn't like the other girl had done anything--except to be better than her. Effortlessly cool, prettier, a better flirt. Good enough at Quidditch that she might have a famous future, while Dani was stuck wondering if she'd ever succeed at her own passion. It was no wonder that Rowan liked her. It was just--crushing.
"No, I, ah, won't tell anyone." Dani tucked her hair behind her ear, needing something to do with her hands. "I don't think I would have to, though. I think you caught it before it could hit anything. But that doesn't surprise me. You're athletic, and stuff, right?" She shrugged, hoping her smile didn't seem too obviously faked.
