With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Alexander scowled down at the large tome laid across the small table that he'd taken up. This was so dumb, he was getting nowhere. Researching pureblood families was like wading through shit, there was so many entangled families. Alex wasn't even good at mapping his mum's weirdass genealogy. He vaguely remembered that she was distantly related to a muggle Irish king, but his great grandparents were halfbloods that ended up intermarrying. Now, he didn't expect his father to be a pureblood, but most squibs were squibs adopted out because they belong to a magical family. It'd be nice to introduce a few more fellows into the fold, he thought.
The idea had come to him in a moment of darkness, where his experiences had begun to pile onto him and he began to think about his dad. He didn't think it was fair that his dad didn't know his own father, that Alexander's grandpa was a complete mystery to him. He'd focused on these thoughts, these ideas of being productive and learning something about his ancestry, to push away the negative feelings that almost felt overwhelming. Now that he was sitting at the desk with all these crudely screwed books, he felt entirely hopeless. He slammed the book shut, before gingerly casting a look around the room to see if he'd disturbed anyone.
His eyes lit up at the sight of Gabriel Avery, a certified pureblood with a father who'd previously taught history. He stood up quickly, trying not to trip over himself in his eagerness. How hadn't Alex thought of this before? Sure, Aggy thought Gabriel was a dick and he kinda was, but knowledge was knowledge right? And he wasn't even Dio levels of asshole, and Alexander put up with that asshole Slytherin living in his house. To be fair, Dio was a lot softer around Alex than he was to many others. Maybe with a few cheerful smiles and compliments, Avery would be the same?
He stepped towards the Hufflepuff, a tentative smile on his face that seemed to read 'please be nice to me'. "Hey Gabriel, how's it going? Enjoying being back at school?" He tried to ask nonchalantly.
