With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Positive Traits: Clever, observant, quick to forgive
Negative Traits: manipulative, judgemental, lazy
Quirks and Habits: Elias has an oral fixation, chewing his cheeks and lips, obsessively eating lollipops and has a smoking habit he just can't shake. He adores sucking on Bêtises de Cambrai, a treat his parents send him whenever they visit France. He has a stash of them in most of his pockets.
He's a serial daydreamer, often zoning out while he eats or while in classes. Paying his full attention to one thing and focussing can be a struggle some days.
He has the training of a politician and will talk in circles if need be, skirting around an issue until it is forgotten or the other person gives up. He doesn't like arguments but he lives for debates where he can out-wit the unworthy.
Elias is used to inconsistent sleeping routines and can sleep with the drop of a hat. Naps are appreciated and he wakes up rather quickly, despite his refusal to be dependant on coffee to keep himself awake.
He's useless with a violin or guitar but he's got a nice tenor voice and a talent in ballroom dancing. Elias sings and hums to himself when in a good mood and attends ballroom dancing competitions.
Likes: hard candy, travelling, the ocean, gossiping with friends, dancing,
Dislikes: muggles, 90% of the population, gardening, jelly beans
Boggart: With the magical creature disturbances, he'd see his own father's corpse mutilated and tortured.
Mirror of Erised: Proud grandparents cheering him after winning the top ballroom dancing competition.
Patronus: a stoat
history
One of Elias' favourite memories was the trip to Ireland with his grandparents and mother when he was around 10 years old. They'd visited the Killarney Falconry, which had a magical section to tour. It was where they bred some for magical folk like themselves. He'd fallen in love with a creepy yet cute owl, and his grandmother insisted that they purchase. The rest of the trip is mostly a blur otherwise, but only a few months later his grandma passed on. His grandfather had followed shortly after. Elias had been close with them and their death hit him particularly hard.
The arguments leading up to his acceptance of the Durmstrange letter between his parents were certainly memorable, but his experience entering the halls of Durmstrang were unforgettable. He'd missed his parents dearly but he also had a few friends from Switzerland. In future years he'd find that the political sway of being the son of a Head of Magical Law Enforcement was nothing compared to when that father became the Minister of Magic.
Winning his first ballroom dancing competition at 15 had been exhilarating, all his hard work had paid off and the only weighing down his thoughts had been that his grandparents hadn't been there to see it all. He'd practised for weeks approaching the day of the event, bordering on obsessively. His mother had sat down with him to discuss priorities and ordered him to bed before he sprained himself. He hadn't appreciated it at the time but in hindsight, she'd been completely correct.

RP Alias: Rose Pronouns: She/Her Hogwarts House: Slytherin Other Characters:ALEXANDER McCARTHYADRIAN ANDERSONRAOUF NASHAAT Roleplay example: Alexander glanced down at the satchel that's strap rested on his shoulder, completely missing that she was talking about the ones under his eyes. "Uh, no?" He replied hesitantly. His mention of the Durmstrang students didn't seem to go down well, going by Aggy's infuriated expression. He felt a little annoyed by her initial judgement of the diverse population of students that had joined them. "What do you mean, your kind? Redheads? Natural gingers? I'm sure they're less likely to imply you have no soul." He tried to joke, playing it off as if he wasn't sure what she was talking about. It was clear since Durmstrang had a reputation for hating muggleborns. They weren't allowed to attend like they were allowed to attend Hogwarts.
He considered the idea that Aggy was worried that they'd incite some kind of hate group or influence the feelings of the professors, but he doubted that a small minority would be enough to convince any rules to be altered. "If they bother you, they're probably just curious. There's no harm in humouring them." He offered, smiling sweetly at her. "I mean, my dad was a squib, it's not like you're alone in this. I'm sure they're nice- have you spoken to any of them yet?" Alexander picked at the fraying seam of his bag absentmindedly, keeping an eye on the rest of their classmates.
He still hadn't asked about the Evan thing, but he let it rest for a little while longer. He didn't want to upset her by bringing up things that she didn't want to talk about. He did, however, want to convince her that the Durmstrang students were nothing to fear. That's the message Professor O'Connor had been trying to promote.
