With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Grace had been searching for close to ten minutes now, almost frantically, in an effort to find Isobel Linwood of all people. The red-haired beauty wasn't normally somebody she would seek out - she made Grace unnerved even just in her presence - but it was, for lack of better word, an emergency. She had to find her before the bizarre librarian found Wolfgang to at least give her a heads up that the physical form of her boyfriend's boggart was actually at Hogwarts and seeking him out.
Finally capturing a glimpse of Isobel's red locks, Grace rushed forward because there was no time to wait. "Isobel," she started, hands wringing. "I - sorry. I don't want to bother you, I really don't, but it's about Wolfgang." She paused as she was reminded that their last talk, albeit over letters, didn't go too well concerning the man in question. Grimacing at the thought and not wanting to be accused of having feelings for Wolfgang - she was dating someone she was completely enamored with, thank you ver5y much - Grace quickly tacked on in a hushed voice, "It's... there's this man in the Great Hall who looks exactly like the boggart Wolfgang was spooked by in Defense Against the Dark Arts last year and he was asking me all of these questions and being very odd and - look, he says he's Wolfgang's brother and he's trying to find him and I thought you ought to know."

the state of dreaming
Isobel was walking down the corridor alone. Wolfgang hadn't been in class that day, and Vinda had a different lesson to go to at the moment. She had a break for this hour, and she was trying to head to the dungeons, to get a quick rest in her bed before dinner. She hadn't thought anyone was looking for her, but as it turned out, Hogwarts could still surprise her.
"Grace?" she answered to the sound of her name as the blonde girl came rushing up beside her. Isobel couldn't imagine what Grace wanted with her--after their argument last year, she was pretty sure they would be content with never speaking to each other again, unless some professor assigned an unfortunate class project. "What do you--oh."
If it was about Wolfgang, she would have to pause to hear it, even though he'd been the topic of their last argument. Even though there had been a grain of truth to what Grace had said, Isobel realized suddenly, but she didn't feel particularly inclined to apologize. Grace didn't need to know everything that had gone down between them over the summer, how they'd almost broken up over the secrets Wolfgang held close. That was private, not for Grace to know.
Dread began to sink in as Grace spoke, Isobel letting her finish her little speech while she processed the information. After everything that she knew now about Wolfgang's family--the favored older brother, the unwanted Squib younger brother--the entire mention of the man chilled Isobel deeply.
"Thanks," Isobel said, her voice low, "I mean it." She bit her lip, trying to think of what to do. Find him and confront him? Or try to hide Wolfgang for as long as it went on? "Do you know what he does?" she asked the Hufflepuff. "I think I need to tell Wolfgang. To warn him,"

Grace wasn't sure what she had expected to come from this conversation. Perhaps she had thought Isobel would simply just nod and walk away, completely disregarding the information Grace had brought her, under the opinion that she was making it up. A tide of relief washed over Grace as the girl seemed to take in what she was saying, then actually thanked her. Grace offered a small smile in return, letting Isobel mull over the information for a while. It was... a lot to take in, she could understand that.
When Isobel started asking questions, Grace was all too happy to provide answers to the best of the abilities. "He, um... he said he was the new library assistant, I think? He definitely wasn't a professor. He looked far too young," she said, racking her brain before nodding with conviction. Yes, that's definitely what he had said.
Isobel appeared to know more about this man and perhaps even more about why he was Wolfgang's boggart than Grace did, but that was no real surprise, was it? She was Wolfgang's girlfriend, of course she'd know more about his life than Grace, and Grace fully intended to leave it that way. She didn't want to know why the man was Wolfgang's biggest fear, he deserved his secrets and it was rude to pry. "I think that would be best," she agreed, fingers reaching up to play with the delicate necklace that decorated her neck.
"I... I tried to give him the run around the best I could. I said Wolfgang may have been at Quidditch practice, or... or doing patrols." Not that Wolfgang was a prefect, but she doubted the man would have known that... Merlin, she hoped if he found out, he wouldn't confront her about lying. She was the Head Girl, she couldn't exactly claim she didn't know who were prefects. It was part of her job, after all. Trying not to dwell on what could happen as a result of her not telling the truth to this man, Grace said, "Hopefully that means he won't be able to find Wolfgang for a while and you can find him before he does."

the state of dreaming
"The library assistant..." That would be a problem, Isobel thought. It was impossible to avoid the library, especially in their seventh year. With exams coming up, they needed to study every moment they could get, even if Isobel knew she would be horribly bored by the material by the end of it.
But this meant Wolfgang would have a far worse time of it than her. She didn't want to admit to Grace that she wasn't sure she could find him before his brother did--because her boyfriend had been incredibly elusive the whole time they had been back at school. He'd been skipping classes, something that was incredibly unlike him. And now she knew why--but he didn't know that she knew why. The last time he'd gone on an avoidance streak, it had taken her ages to find him, because he'd locked himself up in Ravenclaw Tower. And she really didn't have any more desire to ask Aiden to drag him out of his bed than she'd had before.
"I'll tell him," she repeated, trying to sound sure of herself. Maybe she could get an owl to deliver a letter to his dormitory window. Or-- "If you see him at all today, could you tell him to find me?" It was embarrassing to admit that she couldn't find her own boyfriend, but she needed to, as soon as possible. She wasn't sure that Wolfgang would want to speak to Grace, but there was a chance.

If you see him at all today, could you tell him to find me? Isobel's request caught Grace off-guard and truthfully, she would rather not talk to Wolfgang if she could help it, but... she wasn't about to let him be caught by surprise by his own brother. "I'll try," she said softly. "I'll let him know if I see him class or in the corridors or somewhere..." She wasn't sure if Wolfgang would even listen to her if she did manage to catch him, but she'd give it a go nevertheless.
Adjusting the strap of her shoulder bag, Grace racked her brain to think of whether she had anything more to add or tell Isobel, but came up short. All the important parts had been aired out and glancing around, Grace said, "I've... I've got to go to class, but if you need help with anything or... or if Wolfgang does, then let me know." What they'd need a hand from her with, she didn't quite know but the offer was out there nevertheless.
With a wave and a nervous smile that was honestly quite awkward, Grace slide past Isobel and disappeared towards the fifth floor for her healing class, feeling like a weight had been lifted off her chest. At least Isobel knew now.
