With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
After Shay had graduated from Hogwarts, she had tried to get Eva’s attention and had gone on a couple of dates with the female. All was well until she had found the blonde she had started to develop feelings for dead from alcohol poisoning and it was then she had believed that she was cursed. Surrounded by death for most of her life, she had started to show her true feelings about all of the crap she had gone through in life. From losing her parents to losing two girlfriends in less of a year of each other, she figured she was done with life. Her grandparents couldn’t help her, so they had arranged for her to stay with her cousin who was like a big brother to her. To help her through the loss and that’s where she was at, the place she was sharing with her cousin who was currently at work doing God knows what. The blonde never understood his career and didn’t care much.
Sitting in her bedroom at her desk, she was working on a comic for her two little brothers while helping herself to her cousin’s alcohol. It was early in the day some would say, but she wasn’t working at the moment and was looking even though she didn’t have to find a job right away. Her grandparents told her that they had a stable income, but she wanted to do something with her life. Did she have something to live for? No. But she wasn’t planning on dying, or so she hoped.
Letting out a sigh, Shay had placed her pencil down and grabbed the glass that had the Firewhisky in it, taking a large gulp of the harsh alcohol. The moment she had placed the glass down, a kitten had jumped right into her lap and almost made her knock it over. ”MISCHIEF!” she had squealed, but managed to save her comic before any alcohol spilled on it. All the kitten did was mew up at her owner, causing Shay to melt a bit. ”I can’t be mad at you if you give me that look, boy. Cheater. Come on, let’s go,” she stated and picked up the kitten who clung onto her sweater as Shay carried the kitten out of her bedroom and down to the kitchen. There were a few mews from the kitten as she jumped out of Shay’s arms and ran off as a few knocks could be heard on the door.
Running her hand through her blonde locks, Shay walked toward it, peeking out the window and frowned as she saw the redhead who looked liked she was in some type of distress. Unlocking the door, she opened it and looked at her best friend. ”Mavican, what’s going on? Thought you’d be with Casey,” she said as she stepped aside to let her friend inside.

Mavican didn't really have the best summer of her life. The moment the summer started, the moment her girlfriend ran off to go on vacation with Cassidy and then broke up with her not much later was the moment that Mavican just.. gave up. How could she even be a better person when the person she was with was way better than she'd ever be? Mavican had no really hard feelings but the pain wasn't something she could whisk away. The redhead needed someone and though she could connect with so many others, she chose to go talk to Shay.
Morgan was having her summer dreams come true and the last thing she wanted was to take her away from Ryker before school started again. The redhead sighed and just made her way to the house Shay stayed at. She had heard about Eva and though she should feel bad or sad, Mavican was too numb to care. When Shay opened the door she stumbled in and let out a sigh. "Life.." she answered, her hands taking off her jacket. "She dumped me! She actually dumped me.."
As her friend had stumbled into the house, Shay closed the door and could smell the alcohol. Was she judging her friend for drinking? Of course not, Shay herself was in the process of getting herself drunk. Her eyebrows raised as she watched Mavican take off her jacket and listened to her ramble about Casey dumping her. That was odd, they seemed pretty happy when they were at school. Something wasn’t right with this story. ”Casey dumped you?” she asked as she took her friend’s jacket, putting it on the hook near the door.
”And you’re drunk,” she stated, an amused look at her face. Sure, she shouldn’t be amused, she should be angry that her friend was dumped by the girl she had been dating for months. ”Would you like some water? Or...more alcohol?” she asked as she gestured toward the stairs. The alcohol Shay had been drinking remained in her room.
Mavican didn't even know why she was here, she just needed to not be at Jack's farm, she was not going to be a bother to his family with her misery. Sure she said she was going to be friends with Casey, for the sake of their team and because Mavican lacked actual friends but that didn't make the pain hurt less. She did love her and she did think this was going to last a bit longer than less than a school year. "Yes she dumped me. Apparently I am not blonde or shy enough." she scoffed and looked around.
"Not drunk enough." Mavican rolled her eyes and turned on her heels, almost tripping as she did so. "She kissed Cassidy during their roadtrip." Mavican looked at Shay and frowned. "Alcohol sounds good. Give me that." She headed up the stairs without asking for permission and ignored how amused Shay seemed to be by her appearance. She wanted to be loved by someone and maybe Casey wasn't the one to love her that way but if it wasn't her... who was it? Was there even someone who could?
"I didn't have anywhere else to go and.." she let out a sad sigh. "I just need someone right now."
Shay listened to Mavican for a moment, thinking about why Casey would do this type of shit. Back when she was at Hogwarts, she had seen the way the two Ravenclaws would look at each other; something she thought was disgustingly cute. Cassidy? Shay had to whack her brain to think about who this other girl was and then she realized; the best friend. The one girl Casey would always wrap an arm around while at the Ravenclaw table or even hold her hand during classes. According to Shay’s brother in the same year as Casey, he had seen them grow close and thought they were dating for a time. Shay was going to keep that to herself because honestly, she didn’t care about the younger years except for the girls she had spent time with.
Silently Shay moved up the stairs after her friend, rubbing the back of her head and wondered what she could do to make her friend feel better. They were both dumped; Shay having found the girl she liked dead from alcohol poisoning. ”You know you’re always welcome here,” Shay told her friend as she moved toward the desk in her room, grabbing the bottle she had been drinking and held it out to her friend. Sure, this was a terrible idea but hey, alcohol helped in some situations.
