With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
seems that i have been held in some dreaming state/a tourist in the waking world, never quite awake

Greta Rowle
Age: 14
Birthday: 9 December 2004
Species: witch
Blood Status: pureblood
Job: currently none, future student (not attending Hogwarts until September, see history for reason why she hasn’t until now)
House: will be Ravenclaw
Face Claim: Freya Allan
personality
Positive Traits: imaginative, creative, natural leader, friendly, open
Negative Traits:extremely naïve, reckless, pushy, doesn’t like being told what to do
Quirks and Habits: -Greta is a perpetual daydreamer. It’s easy for her to miss what’s going on around her when her head is in the clouds, to the frustration of everyone else around her. -The circumstances of her life mean she knows absolutely nothing about Muggles or Muggle stuff. Seeing even the smallest amount of their technology makes her have a million fascinated questions. -She is of the sincere belief that things like flower crowns, floor-length dresses, and fur coats are the height of fashion, regardless of what everyone else might think. -Being outside at night is one of her favorite things--she loves constellations and the moon, and she is fascinated by flowers that bloom at night.
Likes: books, playing the violin, flowers, books, extremely fancy dresses, tea, tea parties, books, stargazing, Greek mythology, the idea of romance, did I mention books? Especially 19th century ones and especially if they talk about Greek mythology.
Dislikes: being told she is too young or small to do something, isolation, failure, boredom, pessimists, sunburns, coffee
Boggart: herself with her eyes gouged out and mouth sewn shut
Mirror of Erised: being in a cozy café somewhere in Europe, books and tea on the table in front of her
Patronus: barn swallow
history
Some Death Eaters were killed in the Battle of Hogwarts. Some were captured, put in Azkaban for life. Others--well, they fled. Thorfinn Rowle was one of them. Was he a coward? Afraid of punishment? Of failure?
Most likely, he was just making a retreat. Because Death Eaters had families, too, because when his son Viktor had been born, before the battle, he had promised him a glorious future, at the top of society, and he wasn’t about to let prison or death or the fall of his master change that dream--no matter how odious that dream was to the winners of the war (...and anyone with a proper moral compass).
But the family had to hide, as all the old Death Eaters had to. Even escaping Britain wasn’t enough to evade the law completely, and they found themselves in an incredibly isolated situation. In a remote house in Norway, hidden with a Fidelius Charm, Clara and Greta were born, about to grow up without ever stepping foot outside their own property. Even with the protection of the charm, anything that might risk their location being revealed at all seemed too much for the Rowles. The three children were educated at home, with only tutors sympathetic to the pureblood cause allowed to enter the secret house.
Greta, though, the youngest, always dreamed larger. From the time she was able to read, she began to absorb herself in books. Books held all the knowledge of the world outside, a world far larger than the one she was allowed to see. Adventures and romance and grand ideas, cities bustling with people--often, she spent more time daydreaming about them than listening to her lessons at home. She spent what felt like ages staring out of her window, to where she could see the other side of the fence, dreaming about what was out there. Someday, her parents said, when she was of age, she’d be out there, to show the world just how much better she would be than all the Hogwarts-educated blood traitors--but until then, it felt like a prison. A prison with everything she was supposed to need to prepare her for life, but a prison nonetheless.
The first crack in the illusion came the first time they had to run, barely any explanation given to Greta, nine at the time, as she was made to pack all her things as quickly as possible. The new house in Brazil was nothing like the house in Norway, but the expectations on her were the same: stay within the fence, pay attention to lessons, grow up to be the perfect representation of a pureblood witch. But as life returned to what seemed normal, the fear seemed to have been forgotten, for a time.
Greta was fourteen when the Aurors finally caught up with them. When Viktor, her own brother, the golden boy, turned them in. Viktor, who had always been told he would carry on the all-important family name, who had decided to lead the authorities straight to their door. Her parents were arrested, she and Clara taken into Ministry custody in London. The trial sent both her father and mother to Azkaban, and it was determined that Greta and Clara would go to Hogwarts in the fall. One of the lawyers who had been involved in the trial would foster them for a time, so that they wouldn’t have to live in an inn alone for the whole summer. For the first time, Greta was in the outside world--and the only things she knew about it were from books.

RP Alias: Kasia Pronouns: she/her Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw Other Characters:NADEZHDA KAREVA , SKYLAR REID , ISOBEL LINWOOD , MIA-ROSE LINWOOD , EMIL ZALEWSKI , KATRIN TYRELL , LYUBOV KAREVA , SAMANTHA BANKS , ZOË VALERIA , RUE HOWARD , PADMA JOSHI , DANICA LLEWELLYN , DAMIAN BELANGER Roleplay example: I understand. He understood, and Samantha wasn't sure how her heart felt about that. Her first thought was for it to sink. She must be so obvious, with the isolation, the secrecy, the lack of any career beyond her investments--the thought nagged at her mind that maybe she wasn't as good at hiding as she thought she was. There was only so long that one could write it off as quirkiness. What if someone knew already--what if the Ministry was just waiting to find concrete evidence of what she was? Would they be able to tell the Muggle banks and cut her off that way?
They were the thoughts that occupied her mind so, so often, brought to the front by her admission, but there was the warmth of Askold's hand reaching out to rest on hers for a moment, too. He wasn't her enemy. He was human, and yet he didn't draw away from her when he figured it out. It was unexpected, but perhaps it was because she'd never experienced it before. The only people she ever told were other werewolves, who had no reason to fear her when they were already in the same situation.
Maybe it wasn't so bleak. Maybe the Cotswolds would be able to change minds. If someone who had no obligation to care about her reacted like this--because Potter had a duty to Teddy, but nobody had ever made any such promise to Samantha--then perhaps there was hope.
"So you understand why I--why I'm so concerned with security," she said, her voice still quiet. "I have resources that others do not, and if I don't have them, then no one does. You can tell nobody. Promise me that." She looked at the plate of buns being passed over, reaching for one and taking a small bite. It was just as good as the last time, far better than her own attempts. A simple food, but something filling, something comforting.
