With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Picking her way with caution between the choice selection of owl droppings that decorated the floor, the brunette reached up a hand for a rather dozy-looking tawny bird. It certainly wasn't her owl- she'd have gone for something that looked as though it had more than five brain cells rattling around its head- but it would have to do, and so long as it knew how to fly, she really didn't care all that much. The school owls were functional, if not impressive, and if she did want to make an impression then she'd just have to borrow someone else's bird.
Perhaps she should have opted for an owl herself, but then she'd always been fond of cats, and she could no more have walked away from the gorgeous sleek black animal that had wrapped itself around her legs in the shop than she could have left her arm behind as a deposit.
Still, she didn't send an awful lot of letters; she wrote home occasionally, it was true, but then she just sent a reply back with her father's owl, and the only writing that she did other than that was to order something from a catalogue. These days, there were also a few friends who'd left Hogwarts and gone on to do other things, but... well, no plan was perfect.
Rae had been feeling like she wasn't connecting well with her family these days. With exams around the corner and her head mainly buried in books or asleep at this point, the brunette felt bad she didn't even write her own sister. She would've written a letter to her brother but he was a monster now and she couldn't write him without feeling like she was enabling him to be that monster. Sure she didn't express those feelings towards her sister, her and Dexter were so close that Rae knew her feelings towards her brother would hurt her sister even more.
The brunette walked up the stairs of the owlery, her hands wrapped around a letter she was going to send her sister. The cold made her cheeks a shade of pink, her nose felt like it was frozen and though it was spring, she surely felt like it wasn't the warmest day. The girl let out a yawn as she got to the top and smiled when she spotted a familiar friend. "Hey Sophie! how are you doing on this fine day?" she asked as she headed over to the owl she got from her brother a long time ago.
Rae handed the owl the letter and petted it's head. "Send this to Devon okay?" she asked it before looking at Sophie. "You look dandy!"

The Hufflepuff girl glanced around at the sound of approaching footsteps, her features relaxing into a bright smile as she saw who it was. "Rae, love!" she greeted her Housemate brightly, running a hand through her long, dark hair. "Not so badly, can't complain. And how about you- didn't I see you with someone rather gorgeous in the Entrance Hall the other day?" Sophie hadn't been paying attention at the time- otherwise she would have noted not only who it was but their age, physical description, House, and probably their accent as well. She did love an accent.
"And you're not looking so bad yourself," she continued, allowing her eyes to travel up and down the other girl's figure. That shade of pink in her cheeks was rather pretty, and of course Rae did have something of an advantage to begin with because... perhaps she was biased, but Sophie was always a big fan of a brunette. Or two, because it stood to reason that if one of something was good, then two would be even better. "Love your hair, by the way... have you done something different with it? I've got a book with some really good hair charms, if you ever need."
Rae loved running into friends wherever she went. It was one of the perks of having lots of friends and fun people surrounding her. The brunette turned her full attention to Sophie, licking her lips and slipping her hands into the pocket of her jacket. "Oh you mean Jenna? Or David? They're both delicious trust me." she said with a smirk on her lips. Rae had no shame when it came down to her sexuality, she had no shame in telling who she liked or disliked for that matter and Sophie was her friend so of course she'd tell her everything.
"Do you have your eyes on anyone hmm? Please don't let it be that twat of a Ravenclaw. He just has such a punchable face." the Irish girl said with an eyeroll. "Oh no this is all natural actually, I am quite proud of the curls." she admitted with a smirk and chewed on her lip. "Maybe you should come and show me some of the spells back in our dorm." Rae offered. "I can give you this cream which is really good for your hair. It makes it so soft." Rae dodged an incoming owl and backed up to the entrance.
"I think it's safest to stand here where a bird can't hit me."

Sophie shrugged, a slight smile making its way across her lips. "Looked more like a Jenna to me, but I'm not one to judge, sweetie," she commented. Rae was a lovely girl, and the brunette was by no means averse to the idea of spending more time with her herself, but then she didn't like to push her friends. Other people were, of course, a different matter, but how on earth could she draw anyone out of their shell if she had to wait for them to make the first move? "And you ought to know by now that I don't keep my eye on anyone... I just go with the flow." Though naturally she did her best to ensure that the flow took her in the most desirable direction; it was only common sense, after all, and Sophie was a big fan of common sense. For herself, that was. The less of it other people had, the better, so far as she was concerned. "Though if you're going to go around punching people, sweetie, I could think of some far more deserving targets." Half her professors, for one thing, but she doubted that Rae would be willing to go so far.
"But sure, I can come back to your dorm." Her smile turned flirtatious; her eyes just a little coy, though that was a laugh for a start; coy was not a word which had ever been used in earnest to describe her. "Maybe feel this soft hair of yours..."
