With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
I realise it's been a while since we've spoken but I'm quite inebriated currently have been wondering how you've been doing lately when it comes to work and all of that.
I saw mam the other day too, and she gave me quite the guilt trip for not still being in contact with you regularly so I thought I'd write. She wanted me to send you some of her homemade cookies too but I thought I'd do you a favour and keep them in my office because I tried one and they're hard as a rock.

It indeed has been a while. I suppose our jobs keep us busy like always. Perhaps if both our schedules allow it we can grab a drink again some time? Work is an absolute nightmare sometimes I wonder what keeps me going. If I don’t do it someone cruel might take my place. Still I drown myself in alcohol every night because I cannot sleep.
Your mam is an absolute dear, please send me the cookies. It’ll break her heart if she finds out about it. I’ll make sure to make a dentist appointment. How is your family doing? I miss being part of it.

Sometimes I wonder if things would have been different if we both chose different career paths in life, but I guess we'll never know... I'd be up for a drink if time allows. I'd invite you to mine so we wouldn't have to go to effort of getting dressed that sounds dirty to go out, but unfortunately it's not an option. Where would you like to go instead?
Merlin forbid I break mam's heart. Here, have the cookies. Keep in mind, they're now a few days old and harder than a lump of coal so you've be warned. I'm not liable for any dentist visits. The family's fine... busy. What have you been up to besides work?

It’s the same old story, we all wonder but we cannot change the decisions we made. We both have our responsibilities in this world. If you want you can stop by at my apartment in Hogsmaede. I could really use some company that doesn’t brag about in which gruesome way they slay the wolves. I love my work but sometimes I’m ashamed to call myself an auror with people like them in our team.
I solved the hardness problem by dipping them in tea and coffee. The flavor was just fine, thank your mam for me please. Glad to know the family is doing okay. Besides work I don’t do much. With the way things are I make days twice as long as in the peaceful days. Cost me a lot of friends too. That’s life I guess. How are things at Hogwarts? Anything interesting going on there?
I'd like to come stop by your apartment, yes. I promise I won't brag about wolf-slaying because I would never, and I'll even do you a favour and try to keep politics out of the whole thing. Send me your address, and I'll swing by tomorrow? It's my weekend off. Not that I plan on staying the weekend, but just so you know that I don't have any prior commitments that will require my attention.
You've always been a problem-solver. I've sent a letter to mam to let her know, but I'm sure she'll be over the moon. We both are similar in the respects of not doing much outside of work - perhaps we need to find hobbies and interests. Maybe we could take up joint pottery making classes because that sounds mighty exciting and all.
Hogwarts is chaotic at the moment with the presence of Ms. Grimblehawk and quite frankly, I need a break.
