With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Lydia was floating on air, her feet not even skimming the stone floor, as she entered the Great Hall with a content little smile spread on her lips. It had happened, she and... and Thomas had happened after years of what felt like a build-up to this moment.
Last night in the library, he'd approached her and asked for help with Transfiguration. It had been an hour of gentle nudges of arms and soft brushes of legs beneath the table as Lydia tried to break-down Gamp's Law of Elemental Transfiguration. Then finally, Thomas had reached over to curl her hair behind her ear and he'd smiled that smile that never failed to warm her insides before meeting her in the middle of the table to press a kiss against her lips.
From there, it had - well, escalated. With nervous giggles and a scurry of feet, Lydia had eagerly followed as Thomas tugged her into the poetry section - a section that felt apt considering what had happened once they got there. Enthusiastic lips had met, hands had roamed everywhere, and certain pieces of clothing had been shoved and tugged and thrown to the ground to accommodate for what happened next. It hadn't been perfect, Lydia had always envisioned losing her virginity in a bed, but... it had been magical because of who it had been with.
Casting a look over at the Gryffindor table with baited breath, Lydia hoped to see him when instead, her line of vision was invaded. Her entire body froze, drenched by a bucket of cold water because she'd been so wrapped up, so blown away with the events of last night, that she'd forgotten all about Lexie, Thomas' girlfriend, who stood in front of her with fire blazing in her eyes. Oh shit.
Before she could even part her lips to speak, to try and gauge if she definitely knew, Lexie's hand flew up and there was a loud CRACK! A hush fell over the hall as Lydia's hand flew up to cup her red-hot, stinging cheek. All eyes were on them as Lexie's voice spoke, wavering but strong."You're pathetic, Lydia. What kind of girl fucks another girl's boyfriend? Stay the hell away from Thomas, from both of us, because the next time you even look at him - I will ruin you." With that, the Gryffindor girl turned on her heel and the outbreak of whispers echoed in Lydia's ears.
She'd been floating before and it had taken not even five minutes for her to be yanked back down to Earth. Her feet felt like they were made of lead, too heavy to even move, as she stood in the middle of the hall, completely shell-shocked by what had just happened in front of everyone.

There was a time where Clary was in heaven but right now she was just.. tired. The girl had her short blue haircut for today, she felt like today was a good day for it. With a smile on her face she made her way towards the great hall when she almost ran into a boy. "Oops, my bad." she said and gave him a smile before continue walking to what she didn't know would be a war path. The moment her toe stepped near the hufflepuff, even if it was still a few feet away, she watched Lexie come at her like a lion about to eat it's prey.
Clary headed for the girl and was about to tell Lexie to chill when she watched a slap so loud even Clary's cheek hurt. Clary made a face that was basically one large oof and Clary just made her way to the girl who must be more ashamed than anything else. Clary did think it was a dick move to sleep with some girl's boyfriend but then again he was a dick to even let it happen if not initiate it in the first place. She wondered how hard he got slapped for this and just slowly reached out to put her hand on the girl's shoulder.
Clary let out a small sigh and cocked her head to the side for a moment. "Let's get you out of here." she said calmly and though she was often a bright spirit, right now she just needed this girl to get the hecky heck out of this sticky situation. "I promise I won't hit you." she added knowing very well she might be wary of Gryffindors. Truth be told was Thomas really worth it? Lexie seemed quite pissed and Clary truly didn't even like the bunch. "Maybe get something cold for that cheek of yours. That looks painful."

The outbreak of murmurs and pointing was, unfortunately, something Lydia was used to. It was something she had been used to ever since first year when Greyson Avery - someone she desperately hoped got taken out by a stray bludger one day - stood on a table in potions, stamped his foot down to draw everyone's attention and consequently announced to the classroom that the Llewellyn's shoveled mooncalf dung for fun. It had resulted in a pink-cheeked Lydia, sliding down in her chair and trying to hide because he'd been half-right. That was how her family made a living, but it definitely wasn't for fun. Who in their right mind would enjoy shoveling mooncalf poop?
Still frozen like a statue, the feeling of a hand clapping down on her shoulder was enough to make Lydia jump, her eyes darting towards the perpetrator. A blue hair girl, one of the Jones' if she remembered properly. "I'd probably deserve it if you did," she said, lips twisting into a frown. She'd made a mistake, she definitely had, and she deserved to be punished for it. She'd hurt somebody's feelings - and hadn't even thought about the damage of her actions until now. Fingers curling up to her cheek, Lydia touched the burning hot skin once more. "It feels like someone just blasted fiendfyre towards my cheek. I never... shit, I never knew someone that small could slap me so hard."
Allowing a split-second glance at the Gryffindor table - daring to look and see if Thomas was sitting there - Lydia caught his cerulean blue eyes, only for him to look away and start murmuring to Lexie a minute later. What was he saying to her? Was he breaking up with her? Apparently not, because a minute later he was tucking Lexie's hair behind her ear, using the very same move he'd successfully tried on her last night. Swallowing hard, Lydia glanced at the girl who'd been her saving grace. "Clarissa, right? There's... there's a character in a muggle book series called Clarissa. The Mortal Instruments - that's the name of the series. I know she goes by Clary... do you?"

This girl was in quite some trouble and Clary was the last person to shove her face into the obvious issues. The murmers and fingerpointing was going to lead to rumors being spread as that was the way to go about as a teenager it seemed and Clary wasn't going to stick around while they did that. She risked becoming a part of the problem but then why should she care what they thought about her? She'd punt Lexie just by looking at her wrongly. The blue haired girl heard the other speak as if she was ready to get beheaded.
"I don't slap girls for no reason." she assured her and motioned to get the hecky heck out of here. Clary looked at her cheek and truth be told it was redder than her hair at times. She might as well have been hit by that fire. "I know a spell.." she said and grabbed her wand, mumbling a charm on her own hand. "Allow me?" she asked before reaching out to touch her cheek. "It's a cooling spell, won't last long but if you're an idiot like me you tend to get hurt a lot and this stuff works miracles."
Clary wasn't clumsy per say but she was quite the risky girl who would do a lot to get an adrenaline kick out of herself. "Yes that's right." when the girl mentioned her name. "I love the books but I am a lot prettier than that girl. I do go by Clary if you prefer that." she told the girl and smiled a sweet smile. "Let's get some ice and something to eat, if you want you can talk to me about what's happened?" she offered and eyed the direction of the kitchen. "Can't have that pretty face be bruised now can we?"

At first, Lydia wanted to objected and tell Clary that there was a reason for Clary to slap her, the reason being that she had put her own desires first without even thinking about others. She'd been selfish, and it was a hard pill to swallow but it had been jammed into Lydia's mouth. She had no other choice. "I don't think Lexie does normally either," she said dryly, however she jerked back on reflex as the girl placed her hand on her cheek. In a blink of an eye though, the palm on her cheek was helping and radiating the cold. Her cheek was starting to hurt a lot less which meant it was time to focus on other things hurting like her pride. "Merlin, Evan's going to never want to speak to me again. Dani and Josh probably won't either. Or my dorm mates. Shit. How could I be so stupid?" It was rare that she'd say so much in front of a stranger usually, or be so open but... these were rare circumstances to begin with.
A lot prettier was a very confident statement, although... it wasn't false. Clary was very pretty, and you had to be blind not to see that. "I think she was described fairly decently in the books... but she was as bratty as a two year old, and the thing with someone who might be her brother - I never get why authors want to include an incest plot. It's disturbing and makes us readers uncomfortable," Lydia mused out loud, before pausing. Talk about what had happened... was she ready to unload all of that on a stranger? Air out all of her dirty laundry? Probably not, but she could tell her bits and pieces without revealing too much. "Food sounds good... I, uh... I don't know how much you heard of what Lexie said."
Look if Clary felt like someone was a dickhead with a stick twisted between the boobs she would but that was simply not the case in her eyes. The girl understood some of the struggles being the type of girl who struggled a lot with emotions and who to like or who not to like for that matter. Clary was all over the place and maybe that was wrong but why should she give a damn? At least she wasn't being slapped by spouses so so far she was quite safe. This girl however just went through a lot of bad shit and Clary felt no reason to add to it.
"Probably not but why should that stop you from walking away right now?" she asked with a cock of her own head because the last thing Clary would do was hang about while others were pointing and giving looks. It was then that it seemed reality was going to settle in with this girl and she started talking about people not wanting to speak to her ever again. "Whoa, easy girl." she said and shook her head. Clary eyed her and bit her lip. "I doubt they would stop speaking with you, real friends will stick with you no matter the mistakes you make."
Clary lowered her hand as she felt the spell fade away and her lips curled up in a smile as she was quite confident in her own looks. "Well like I said, I am a lot better looking and way more awesome. Stick around and you will find out for yourself." she teased with a wink and headed for the kitchens. "Not to mention the angelic part, I think I am more of a devil." she said and hummed a bit. "I have no clue, it hasn't gone through the gossip vine yet I suppose." Clary said and eyed Lydia as she walked. "Though I believe from the scene that Thomas is involved." she added with a shrug of her shoulders. Clary didn't feel like it was her right to judge but maybe it's just her laid back attitude saying so.

The concept of just... walking away had never occurred to Lydia, but maybe that shouldn't have been surprising. It never came to mind in times when things were just too overwhelming, her body and mind usually opting to just completely shut down instead. "Maybe I should walk into something else instead - like a oncoming broom collision," she said with a wry smile. It was dark thought, but Lydia wasn't unused to those. The words 'whoa, easy girl' had Lydia almost letting out a surprised laugh however because the way this girl was speaking to her sounded exactly like the way she spoke to a particularly spooked mooncalf on the farm.
Misery curled up inside Lydia because... that wasn't necessarily true. Maybe she was being a pessimist but, "Evan's... Evan's his brother. He won't - and I don't want him to take my side, but he's not going to want to be friends with me." She didn't have a whole lot of friends, and so the fact of losing one of the few she had was honestly kind of soul crushing. To know that it was all her fault was even more so. "Dani and... and Josh, they kind of have to stick by me, I guess? They're my triplets. Merlin, they're going to get even more shit because of me." She didn't know what her dormmates were going to think. Maybe she'd be kicked out of the dorms this afternoon, forced to sleep outside on the ground or on the common room couch.
Stick around. It sounded like an offer of friendship which was bizarre given the circumstances she was in right now, but she wasn't saying no. "Stick with the devil, that's what you're saying? Got it," Lydia said, words dry but the smallest of smiles appeared on her face... only to disappear a split second later because shit. If she thought things had been bad in the hall, what was going to happen when the gossip mill started? "I... yeah. He is. We - he - got... together. In, uh - and I guess he told her. I hope. Merlin, I hope nobody saw -" The idea that someone had watched was enough to make her stomach churn, but they hadn't exactly been in a private place, had they?
