With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Another day, another lesson about muggles to her wonderful class of teenagers. Things might be going not so great outside, but the muggles were blissfully unaware of the werewolf war that was brewing and Zoe decided that would be her approach, as much as possible, as well. The teacher carefully transfigured a few student desks into sets of comfy sofas - whilst she wasn't a great witch, it always helped her more adult activities to know she could change any surface into something softer and so it was one particular spell she'd conquered many years ago.
The weather was beautiful outside and so the windows were open, a light breeze filtered through the classroom. On the white board at the top of the classroom Zoe had written: COMMUNICATION and drawn some cartoon interpretations of various muggle technologies such as a phone, a computer... a carrier pigeon. Google's logo, correctly represented in both font and colours. A TV and a postman with a parcel under his arm.
"Good afternoon everyone," Zoe began once there was a decent portion of the expected students had arrived and from her own couch, where she was sitting cross legged, the teacher gestured to each to make themselves comfortable. "Today we're going to discuss how muggles communicate over long distances. When I was a kid at school, we'd pass notes in class. After I began training as a teacher, though, the technology had changed and kids began to text each other in class. We used to go into the library and look up information for essays and now the kids look for it on the internet. That's a huge difference in the space of a decade."
"So let's begin - who here has used a phone before?"
Gemini loved muggle studies. She didn't like people hating on the fact that muggles were in the same world as they were. They weren't bad people.. they were just different. Gemini was seated in front of the class as usual and looked at the little cartoons and tried to copy them in her notes. She had no clue what they were and what even a phone was. With red flushed cheeks she looked around and bit her lip for a moment, was it weird to ask what a phone even was?
"What's the internet? or a phone? Is it one of these cartoons?" she asked and bit her lip. Surely she couldn't be the only one here who didn't know about it.

With a hop, skip and a jump, Vi made her way into Muggle Studies, a chirpy smile on her face because she absolutely adored the class. It was one where you didn't have to be too smart - something that Vi definitely wasn't renowned for - and focused a lot around talking instead, something Vi was definitely known for. "Hey Professor Savage!" she greeted with a wave, before her eyes lit up as she took in the changed appearance of the room.
Oooohhh lounges. Much better than those stuffy, uncomfortable chairs that surrounded the room usually. Beelining towards a plushy three seater, Vi waved a couple of friends over so they could squeeze in next to her and she could use them as a makeshift pillow in the process. Then she turned her attention to the front, nodding as Professor Savage began talking about communication. "Oh, I've used a phone! One of my mum's is a muggleborn and so she's showed us all the fancy dancy stuff that muggles have used."
Muggle Studies was one of Casey’s favorite classes, knowing a bit about Muggles because her mother was good friends with a few of them and Casey had spent time at their houses. The fifth year had witnessed how they lived, how they interacted and how they cooked their meals everyday. It was different than living in the wizarding world but she wasn’t one to complain. In fact, her father was the one that complained about the Muggles and how they ruin things - god he had pissed her off many times over the years.
Casey had walked into the class, looking at the comfortable seats and she had smiled. This was going to be a good class, she knew it. The girl had waved at the professor in greeting before she found the sofa and made room for her best friend as she crossed her legs.
She had made herself at home while making sure there was room for her friend and someone else.
when there's nowhere else to run/is there room for one more son?

Skylar was a pureblood wizard from a pureblood family. He'd taken Muggle Studies mostly because he had to pick two electives and he wasn't sure what else to take, not because he knew anything about Muggles. Some of his new foster siblings were half-bloods and Muggleborns, but he wasn't sure if any of them had phones, and he couldn't say he'd ever used one. He would have to ask. Clary was a half-blood, right? And she was in this class. But, he had to admit, he wasn't sure what her life had been before she'd been adopted, and he didn't want to dig that up if it would be painful. He didn't think that, even after many years, it would stop being painful that his parents were gone.
But he really didn't need to run out of yet another class when it brought up bad things. That wasn't even what the class was about this time! And then Professor Savage was his Head of House, and she'd be worried, and he didn't want that. Instead of answering the professor's question--no point in saying that he hadn't used a phone--he turned to Clary, whispering to her instead. "Have you ever? Is it really that easy for Muggles to talk to each other?"

The muggle studies class was one of the classes Clary knew she couldn't possibly suck at. The class spoke of things she faced daily when she was home because her family had both muggle and magical kids. Clary herself was found in a muggle dumpster. The redhead let out a sigh as she was seated in the classroom hoping that maybe one day they would discuss comic books or something cool like that. Clary looked at Skylar who sat beside her and gave him a kind smile. She liked him, he was her friend even when he started acting weird since he got adopted by her parents.
"Oh yes, when we're home I can show you. I have a phone at home." she told him and smiled. "You can even make photos with it and videos.. watch tv."
Frankie had taken a seat at an empty sofa while remaining utterly quiet, not wanting to be in class at that very moment. But a promise was a promise and she wasn’t going to skip. Don’t get her wrong, she enjoyed Muggle Studies at times, but today of all days she was suffering from no sleep and was in a foul mood.
When the professor had brought up what the subject of today was, she made a face and sighed softly when people started tossing out answers.
Can this be over?
"The internet holds all kinds of information. It's like....an online book." she said and eyed the Hufflepuff. "You can also chat with people."
Parker didn’t understand why she was taking this class but she knew she was stuck in it with her friends. At least she had chosen a seat, saving the other spot for her best friend as the professor had started today’s lesson. Interesting. She thought as she crossed her legs and waited for her friend to come sit near her.
If Peter was still a student, this would be the class for him because he was more interested in the subject more than she was. Perhaps she was doing it for her twin, maybe she’d send him her notes and help him learn more about Muggles.
