With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Sometimes green fields were the most beautiful things to see from a nice height. Lizzy had been training in them most of her day and was cleaning herself up before heading out for an evening of self entertainment. Truth be told she shouldn't be such an outgoing person but breakups were hard to deal with when it came to her and so she didn't want to deal at all. The brunette had put on her makeup, her lips red and her curly hair draped loosely on her shoulders before putting on her leather jacket and heading out.
The brunette ran a hand through her hair as she walked into a small bar that was a bit outside of London. She didn't like to go into clubs tonight and just wanted a nice drink. The woman took a seat at the bar and just ordered her regular before folding her hands together on the bar, her eyes looking around for any people. Most of them were couples or friends having a good time.
"Mmm thank you." she told the bartender before sipping from her drink.

Maggie had seemingly become a completely different person over the years. Not by choice of course, but life seemed to work against her. Everything up until age nineteen seemed like a dream-- too good to actually be true. She'd been happy and things had been ideally set in place. No drama, no full moons (except by a romantic first kiss), and eventually a job she loved. It took one moment... One single moment to send it all crashing in and she hated it.
Maggie had made just enough money on a side job to take some time to sit and have a drink. To be honest, money was few and far between with not having a job but she she her best to take those brief moments and make them count. She had a newspaper in hand to check for postings, walking in with her eyes locked on the page-- only paying just enough attention from her peripherals to keep from running into anyone as she entered the bar.
Maggie sat down at the bar, just a few stools away from Lizzy, unbeknownst to her. To be honest, she was silently frustrated by the page. She gave a brief wave to the bartender, " Beer, please, " She requested quickly, before glueing her eyes back down to the page. She was determined to find something to put all that healer training to good use.

The liquid from the glass warmed up Lizzy's throat and body with the burning sensation she often craved after a long day. The brunette hated to admit she had become one of those people who after a long day craved a drink or two to help her sleep. Her nightmares were never a mystery to her or the people close to her, they knew about her fear of her parents finding out about the people she cared about and sometimes she wondered if it was all worth it. What if she would just live alone? Would that really be so bad?
As the liquid was emptied inside the body of Lizzy the woman put the glass down and rose her hand for another before she heard someone basically demand a beer not far from her. Lizzy's eyes wandered towards the woman who ordered them and the woman slowly cocked her head. Lizzy could recognize her from anywhere and for some reason she was the last person Lizzy expected here.
The brunette smiled a bit and eyed the bartender. "She can have the beer on me." the woman said softly and pursed her lips as she took another sip of her own drink. Her green and brown eyes shamelessly looked Maggie over and her tongue licked the liquid that spilled from her glass from her bottom lip. "Surprised to see you here Mags.." she said softly and already regretted calling Maggie by her pet name.

Maggies attention snapped when she heard a familiar voice. Wait, Lizzy? She looked over as she saw the hazel eyed woman shameless gazing, licking the drink that'd brushed at her lips... Damn, she always knew how to make an impression. She pursed her lips a bit before looking down a moment with a smile. Maggie being the busy bee even without a damn job was probably surprising. It wasn't that she didn't drink, but to be honest, she always felt guilty when she was seeing her ex. She had been without a job a while, after all, and she felt horrible having her then-girlfriend spring for everything, because she just couldnt.
She simply smiled when the beer arrived, " Thanks, " She nodded at the bartender before moving over to sit with Lizzy. She had still wanted to be friends, after all... Even if friendship with an ex was a bit taboo, " I can really get it, " She insisted. She didn't want her to feel like she was using whatever feelings could've been there. Hell, she didn't know if there was anything, but she knew she didn't want to come off as that girl who used people's feelings to get what they wanted. "Sorry, tha's... Me going 'n making this awkward. Nevermind, I'd love a drink, " She remarked picking up her drink for a non-verbal 'cheers' with Lizzy, " I'll buy ye one next, " She insisted, giving the woman a warm hug before relaxing onto a stool.
"So, how've ye been?" She asked the woman, the glass bottle gripped with both hands as the news paper sat on the counter with various pen circles for all the possible jobs she could check on first thing tomorrow morning. "Had a rare pay day so I thought i'd come 'n had a beer and take a look through the ads."

It's been.. months since she last seen her. Lizzy was well aware that the breakup probably affected her more than she wanted to admit. For weeks she dropped contact because she needed to get herself together. Lizzy wasn't a dramatic person but she had the big problem of loving with her entire soul. Even after she promised herself to not love again, to stay far away from commitment, Maggie was changing that until the breakup. It made her close up again, her heart firmly locked away from pain and misery.
The brunette sipped from her drink waiting for Maggie to notice her and when she did a smile crossed her pink lips. Once Maggie moved closer, Lizzy just made sure that there was enough space for her. When Maggie insisted on paying her own drink Lizzy's only response was an arched eyebrow. She knew how hard Maggie was trying to get a job of her own and with Lizzy buying her things but truthfully Lizzy was just kind like that. Spoiling people she loved whether they were lovers or her friends.
"Relax, it's just a drink." she said with a small smile, her french accent rolling off her tongue with ease. Lizzy being both French and Italian was a gift really, she could use either accents depending on how she felt but her French was more common as it was the accent used by many of her teammates as well as her father. Yet Maggie's was a bit more from around this neighborhood, an accent Lizzy always loved to listen to.
"Mmm." Lizzy rose her own glass as Maggie rose her bottle and took a sip of her drink. "Alright, I won't argue against it." she knew better by now. The brunette turned to look at her glass for a moment before back at Maggie. "I've been well, got bored after training so decided to go out for a drink. The hills back here are amazing for practice." she said with a grin on her lips. "Besides these abs don't keep up with themselves."
Lizzy barely spoke the words before returning the hug, she smelled nice and it made her feel a bit drowzy but she contained herself well. Lizzy wasn't one to linger about.. or she at least tried not to. Lizzy sat back from the hug and bit her bottom lip slowly before sipping from her drink again. "Did you find anything you like?" she asked softly and eyed the newspaper with all the circles. Being a werewolf in this time was horrible. Lizzy blamed it for their breakup though she knew it probably wasn't even the main reason. "I didn't know you liked coming to this bar, I barely come here." she admitted.

Maggie admittedly wassnt much of a drinker before the change. She would drink casually on occasion, but she never considered herself a huge drinker by any means. Honestly, given that her one big night of celebratory drinking ended with her getting attack by a werewolf and turned... Well, she was even surprised the drinking was getting more frequent, but it was easier than dealing with the fact that no one wanted to hire her because she was a werewolf.
"I... I know. It's just.." She was a bit prideful and ashamed of the situation she was in. She hated that everyone around her felt they needed to help her. She felt like she'd lost her strong sense of independence, but she was just too proud to show or admit such a thing, " It doesn't even matter, " She brushed off the notion of her pride calmly, trying to let it go. After all, she was at least polite enough not to press the matter too much. That was one of the things she always liked about her. She wasn't one to pry where it wasn't absolutely necessary.
"Oh?" She replied as the woman told her she was off of practice. Admittedly, she tried to follow the Quidditch news where she could to see how a few of her old friends we're doing-- particularly her. "How's Quidditch fame treating you, ay?" She asked with a small smile as she went to take a drink from her bottle, " You haven't become any diva sort have you, lass? Insisting on a private tent, women, and firewhisky far as thee I can see?" She teased playfully on her ex's fame. Of course, she knew that that wasn't Lizzy at all, but it was nice to lightheartedly tease her.
She sighed, " I always find something or other i'd love, but I'm... Afflicted, " She was fairly bitter about the subject. It was unfair, but what could she do? The laws we're what they were. "The affliction is part o' the reason I've become more.. Regular here."

Being famous even when it meant so many things were different never really changed who Lizzy was. Sure she enjoyed the attention, she enjoyed the ladies cheering her on and making her sign their boobs but that wasn't the same as the girl who would wait for her at home, the girl who would fight tooth and nail for her to be a sane person. She missed coming home to that and honestly if anything broke her, it was that feeling being ripped away because of certain afflictions or conflicts.
"Oh yes the women fling themselves at me all the time, especially when firewhiskey gets involved." the brunette teased in return and though she wished she was joking, it did happen and she had many flings, one night stands and honestly she felt like she was going to end up with one tonight, even if she had to search the earth for it. Lizzy wasn't meant to live her life alone but she wasn't going to deal with those sad thoughts, no she wanted to connect more with Maggie now she's here to talk to instead of a simple thought.
Lizzy's hand reached out for Maggie's and squeezed it gently, her eyes on her ex girlfriend. "You will have the future you want one day. This can't go on forever." she assured her and though she sure as hell hoped she was right she couldn't promise Maggie a single thing either and it bugged the fuck out of her. Lizzy turned to her drink and downed it with a groan, forgetting her hand was on Maggie's in the first place.

She smiled a bit as she felt her ex's hand still on her own. The temptation to leave it was there, but she knew it wouldn't be fair to push her luck given she had insisted on the split to begin with. She casually slipped her hand away as she tucked a loose strand of bright red hair from her face. She was. "Ehh, nothing wrong with letting your inhibitions fly to the wind a bit, aye?" She chuckled, " I can think of a night or two when firewhisky made the night interesting, " She smirked a bit.
Finishing off her drink, she paid for another round as promised, " Okay, so outside of the fine assortment of ladies... What else have you been up to?" She smiled, leaning her elbow on the bartop, resting her head on her fist as she looked over at her curiously. To be honest, she would have much rather talked about Lizzy's success and recalled in that rather than the mess that was her life.
She smiled as she took a drink, " Well, I certainly admire the optimism, " She replied, " I'll figure something out eventually, " She didn't know how, but she was going to have to figure out something-- make an honest change. What the government was doing to people like her... Well, it wasn't right.

Lizzy was feeling odd for leaving her hand on Maggie's but she really did miss her and when she took her hand back to gracefully grab her drink it seemed smooth enough that it didn't feel like she awkwardly lingered. Lizzy was sure she knew what she was doing and just drink from her firewhiskey while listening to Maggie speak. The woman was so much more than people thought she was and it was a shame to see her be like this. Lizzy tried to help the best she could but there was only so much she could do.
"Not much, just parties, drinking, spending nights on my couch." she said with a sigh and a smile. She loved her couch, it was huge and felt like a bed sometimes. The woman tucked a lock of dark hair behind her own ear and chewed on her bottom lip as she took the next drink that Maggie paid for. She felt bad to let Maggie pay for her drink but she knew better than to fight her on it. "You know me, the ladies never really stick around for long but a cat, well a cat has no choice."
It was a joke containing the painful truth around it. Lizzy hummed and drank from the whiskey, yes she could feel the buzz. "Much better." she didn't like to deal with things sober and even the smallest buzz worked for her. "The buzz is the best isn't it?"
