With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Sometimes even a pro like Kiernan had to go back to where it all started. The shop where he bought his first broom when he was only a child. The man always felt like that child whenever he got here. The man walked into the shop hoping to meet his brother here. He had been worried about Ciar, his manwhore ways were worrying to say the least and the last thing he needed on his hands was his brother with some clingy bitch on his ass.
The shop wasn't quite crowded, the holidays were over so it was quiet which was fine. The shop worker waved and he just rose his hand as a wave as well, his eyes looking over all the merchandise. Newest technologies, the newest glasses and gloves. With a frown the man looked into the direction of the door, his brother walking through like he hoped.
"Hey brother." he greeted and grabbed a set of goggles, they looked quite rad and he wanted something like this for a while.
Ciar had been tired, and been trying not to ruin his career by drinking too much. He wasn’t an alcoholic, and he can go without alcohol for days at a time. But every night this week he had at least one or two beers when he was home alone - by himself. No women. For some reason he wasn’t in the mood for sleeping with the first female that was willing to throw herself at him, he wanted to be left alone while he thought about what his future could bring. The man was proud of his team, and he wanted to win this cup. He didn’t want to disappoint anyone.
He had stopped outside the shop as he eyed a woman with a young toddler (a girl), and he frowned when he realized that it was his ex. He quickly moved into the shop, not wanting the bitch to spot him and he smiled when he noticed his brother. ”Hey…” he said and grinned a bit as he eyed the goggles. ”God, we could use something like this for the damn rainy weather. It’s coming.” he said, and looked toward the door as he watched the woman and kid walk by the shop.
”I need a new broom. Maybe, since we’re awesome brothers, we can buy one for Casey too…”
Kiernan eyed the goggles and grinned a bit before taking them with him, he was going to buy these and they would look very good with his uniform. The man turned to his brother who seemed quite spooked but he masked it by a greeting in return. Still, Kiernan noticed when his brother was in a jam so he turned to look at him, handing him another pair. "They're very good looking." he said and held out a pair of goggles.
"Yeah though when spring comes along, the games should be less wet." he sure hoped they would be anyway. "What's gotten you so spooked when you got in here?" he asked and tried to peek past his brother to see whoever came into the shop. Still he couldn't figure it out so he had to wait for Ciar's answer.
"Yeah our brooms are getting old but I am not sure they have the right models here.." he said and headed over to the brooms. "They got the newest though.." he said and frowned a bit. "Sure we could get her one, have her have the best broom for her championship game. Did you hear that from Finn? she is battling for the cup. I might ask if we can watch." he said and checked the brooms out.
What had gotten Ciar so spooked? Sure, Ciar never told his family the truth as to why he and his former fiancee’ broke off their engagement. Maybe he should explain to his most trusted brother beside him but right then and there he wanted to forget that he had seen the bitch with a toddler. This was a disturbing thing for him to think of, and sure, deep down he wondered if that little girl was his but another reason he wanted to be free from the responsibility of raising a child. At least she wasn’t reaching out to him. That was a good sign, right?
”Uhh...I saw ...my ex.” he said truthfully, and eyed the goggles in his hands. They felt good, and so he tried them on to see how they felt. There was a forceful smile as he looked in the mirror to see how he looked, and he did finger guns at his reflection, ”I’m sexy.” he said and looked at his brother as he took the goggles off.
There was a proud smile on Ciar’s face when Kiernan told him about Casey’s team making it to the cup and he nodded. ”Yeah, Finn wrote me. Also heard she messed up her leg a bit during the game but managed to play through the pain.” he said with a proud smile as he eyed the brooms.
Quidditch supplies however beautiful needed to be functional and Kiernan was paying less attention to what he was doing and more to what his brother was saying. When he said he ran into his ex Kiernan felt immediate sympathy there. "What does the witch want in here? Doesn't she belong in Knockturn Alley?" he asked and watched his brother admire himself with those goggles. A snort from Kiernan made him put the goggles in the little basket he took from the front of the store. "I'll pay for those for you, as a traumatic remedy." he told him with a smirk.
"God what is it with people and exes, I swear sometimes I'm happy I got no girl trouble." he said and headed over to the brooms for his sister. There were so many models and he reached for the firebolt. "This would be the fastest broom she can get her hands on right bro? what do you think?" he asked and held the broom up for Ciar to look at. "Dude she will do just fine but one day she might kill herself trying to prove to the world how good she is. The harpies will want her." he told his brother and grinned.
There was a low chuckle from Ciar when his brother made a joke about his ex, but he focused on how good he looked in the goggles and looked at his brother with a tiny pout. ”Yep, you buy them for me.” he said and took them off, following after his brother and eyed the many models of brooms. There was a proud smile on his face as he admired the brooms, humming a bit as his brother spoke about girl trouble. ”That’s because you can’t find yourself a girl in the first place, brother.” he joked and punched his shoulder playfully. ”Your right hand can’t do the job for you forever.”
When Kiernan grabbed the firebolt, Ciar grinned a bit more and nodded. ”It’ll help her win all the future games she will play in.” he said with a nod and ran his fingers along the broom. ”We don’t need that. We need to talk her into joining our team. Keep the Stevens together, you know…” he said and smirked.
