With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Rue Howard
SPECIES: werewolf
BLOOD STATUS: half-blood
JOB: Trossachs member/strike team apprentice
HOUSE: former Hufflepuff
FACE CLAIM: Willow Shields
BIRTHDAY: 21 December 2005
PERSONALITY
Positive Traits: creative, resourceful, helpful, gentle (when in human form) Negative Traits: nervous, defensive, naïve, vicious and wild when in wolf form Quirks and Habits: -Rue is a singer at heart, and can often be found humming little melodies even in sad situations. -Her hair is almost always braided, which both keeps it neat and gives something for her hands to do when she is nervous. Sometimes she unbraids and rebraids it just to do something. -Every time she sees her namesake flower, she has to go touch it. (She also knows how to eat it, if need be, but it’s rather bitter.) -While she used to have a habit of reading books by flashlight under the covers as a child, now she has the same habit of reading them by candlelight at night. Likes: music, opera, candles, books, fruitcake, birds Dislikes: being sick, painful transformations, pumpkin juice, not being allowed to do magic due to the Trace even though she wouldn’t be allowed to return to school Boggart: the full moon Mirror of Erised: herself as an opera singer Patronus: Eurasian skylark
HISTORY
From childhood she remembers music. Rue always loved music. Her dearest memory from being little is a trip to London where she got to see a performance of the Royal Opera. Some might think a little child would be bored, but Rue couldn’t tear her ears and eyes away, completely swept up in it. Ever since then, she’s had a dream of being an opera singer. It never mattered to her that she was a rather sickly child--she was simply determined to get better faster in order to sing again.
From school times she remembers nervousness. Rue grew up in the Muggle world; her mum was a Squib who wanted nothing to do with wizards anymore after the way they treated her. When both of her children got their letters from Hogwarts, she became a nervous wreck, afraid of the return of Squibphobia in her life and the knowledge that she couldn’t defend against wizards. Rue did already have one older sibling at school, but even then, some of the fear rubbed off on her.
From becoming a werewolf she remembers terror and pain. She had gone out to buy Christmas presents for her family without them seeing--who could blame her? She wanted to surprise them, and it wasn’t like second-years could go to Hogsmeade even if the students had been allowed. But Rue had no reason to keep track of the moon. And she had no reason to think any of the Trossachs would be around--even if she had ever heard of them before, she would know that their territory was far away from southern England where she lived. It was the day after her thirteenth birthday that she was bitten and taken. Rue remembers blood and pain and somehow ending up in a forest she’d never seen before. At first, she was terrified of the pack, but then along with January came her first transformation. In her memory, most of that night is a haze of pain and exhaustion, but to her surprise, she was then sent to learn from the strike team. Turns out that little gentle Rue made a surprisingly tough wolf, and the pack saw potential in her… but that also meant that hope of rescue started to seem very far away.
If something went wrong, Emil couldn't even tell his parents about this. They were convinced he was with an entirely different friend, a male one. It was the most daring thing Emil, the prefect who never even got detention, had ever done in his life. Magic meant they could get back quicker than with the boat alone, but it wasn't as if they could Apparate across the continent at this age. It was such a risk.
But it was so beautiful. Emil hadn't realized, before he'd agreed to go on this trip with Persie, just how big the sea was. He'd only been out of the country a couple times before, to visit his grandparents in Poland, and that had been on airplanes. But wizards didn't have airplanes--although this particular witch had an entire sailboat all to herself, which he thought might be even better. He'd been worried, when she invited him, that it would be obvious that he wasn't nearly as wealthy as she was. His school uniform might be the same as everyone else's, but his old suitcase showed the truth. And to be around a gorgeous older girl like that--it was nervewracking.
But she seemed to like him just the same, which was relieving. In the days they'd been sailing, he had more of a tan than he ever even got during summers spent outside as a kid. It had to do something with the Mediterranean, he was sure. At the sound of Persie's voice, he popped his head up from inside the boat, squinting into the bright sun that was shining off the water. "Wine? I'm coming!" he called out, climbing up from belowdeck and sitting in the empty lounge chair. This was probably the most he'd ever drunk in his life, too--but only his friend would know.
