With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
After whisking Scarlett away from her family, with the knowledge of her mother, the real Christmas festivities could begin. Apparating close to the wolf camp with Scarlett in his arms, Teddy gently placed the young woman down on the well trod path. "Welcome to our humble abode," Teddy said with pride shining through his tone and the small smile on his freshly shaven face. Not too far away, it was possible to hear the hub-bub of a decent sized camp of about 20 adults and 10 or so children - Teddy was beginning to lose count, though it was his job every day to check in with each of them.
"We have the special priviledge of lighting the yule log this evening," Teddy said cheerfully as he began the short walk towards the camp. "Jeremy brought a few mutton and partridges - don't ask where he got the sheep, it's Christmas - everyone else has worked hard to get the vegetables on for roast and before I came for you, I visited the Leaky... so we have so many nice fresh bread buns," Teddy's stomach growled, as if on cue, and he laughed. "Oops, I'm far too excited about Christmas dinner. "... the Longbottoms make amazing bread."
Teddy turned to Scarlett at the entrance of the camp and pulled her close to him for a hug. "Thank you for being here, with me, for Christmas."

Christmas with her favorite person, what more could she wish for? The only thing she had to do was tell him about the little Lupin in her belly but that had to wait. She wasn't going to drop such a bomb in his lap right after arriving at the camp. Teddy was in such a good mood, Scarlett couldn't even remember when he stopped smiling and she didn't want him to. The joy on his face is what she missed the most.
"I feel so special, I am not even sure how to do that." Christmas at home was different and she never lit the yule log. Teddy told her about the food he managed to get and she just nodded happily. Meat, good. She had cravings for meat lately and she had quite the idea why that was the case. "Sounds really delicious, I can't wait." she really couldn't and judging by Teddy's stomach, neither could he.
She laughed a bit at the growling and kissed his jaw. "I am too, don't worry." Scarlett returned the hug and took in his scent for a moment. He smelled so good and it comforted her in a way. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else." she assured him before looking at his handsome recently shaved face.
Scarlett looked around with a hum. "Where is your tent?" Scarlett was curious and looked back at Teddy. "How are the kids? Did you find any new people?"
"That's because you are. Aside from being beautiful, smart, talented and the most amazing girl I've ever met... you're also kinda dating the second in command," Teddy said proudly, a playful smirk playing at his lips. He refused to use the term beta to describe himself - he was a werewolf and not a wolf. "The yule log is cut from one of the large trees and lit with the left over part of the previous year's yule log. It's meant to stay alight for the twelve days of Christmas, as it's bad luck if it goes out... and we need as much luck as possible," the young man said with a hint of worry behind his voice. "So of course we chopped down the best tree we could."
It was great to hear that Scarlett was happy to be here with him. He knew it was a very far cry from her usual luxurious trappings, where the floor of his own tent was lined with rugs but the newest members were cramped into tents until more could be obtained. "My one's near the middle of the camp - I had considered being a bit further out but I've found that I prefer to be in the thick of things with the pack. Plus, it's a bit warmer being close to the kitchens," Teddy laughed and pointed first to his tent - modest in size, though inside was much larger - and then to the kitchen and dining tents which were set up close by. The camp itself had a very large bonfire in the middle and tents surrounding it in a circle, like a wheel extending out.
"Let's get you settled in before we get into all of that," Teddy put one arm around her waist and guided her towards the tent he'd pointed out. A few pack members waved in greeting, but most continued with their preparations for the evening. "The kids are all helping in the kitchen - keeps them out of trouble, idle hands being the devil's play things and all," Teddy mused as he opened the flap to his tent. "Most of my time has been taken up with the MacMillian reprecussions, rather than finding the werewolves to support. The attack at the Winter Ball... has made things worse," Teddy sighed heavily. "For tonight, though, we feast and make merry."

Scarlett was used to luxury beyond many wild dreams. Her home was filled with art from all over the world as her mother was quite obsessed with it and there was actual gold in the ceiling art to represent the wealth her family lives in. Though she loved her luxury, would never want to trade in her comfortable pillows, being here with Teddy meant a lot more. Scarlett knew she was the kind of girl who would flaunt her rich status to show other students she was in many ways above them but somehow being here, experiencing this way of life.. it seemed to fade away.
The humble way of living was so charming in it's own way that these children, men or women won't see it but Scarlett coming from living a different life saw it. She saw how something like lighting the yule log meant the world to these people because they had to believe in something positive rather than be suppressed by the negativity surrounding them. "You got so much hotter just now." she returned the smirk and added a wink to her own words as she spoke them. This felt so right, here and now.
Her eyes moved over to look at the log and she cocked her head a bit. Of course there were ways to cheat and keep it lit for twelve days by using magic but they needed this to go by the hands of faith, not someone to cheat with magic. Scarlett nodded as Teddy explained, smiling as she did so. "That sounds so cute and festive. Way better than the tradition my parents have for the holidays." She told him. "At home we just present our best work, let our family members read them and eat a dinner prepared by the staff. It's nothing close to this." she said and sighed.
"Sorry I sound so spoiled... but trust me I don't enjoy Christmas that way. This... this is more my speed." she said and motioned to the log with a smile. She reached out for his cheek to stroke it for a moment. "You guys will be okay, your kids will be okay." Teddy was obviously worried and she knew this meant so much to him. "Obviously it's closer to the rest and who doesn't like waking up to the smell of food?" Scarlett remembered her old neighbors when she was little, they owned a small bakery inside their house so she would wake up early in the morning to the smell of baked goods.
Scarlett walked with Teddy to his tent and just looked around. There were children running in and out from the kitchen tent, waving at her as they did so. Scarlett just waved back and bit her lip. Would her kid be this excited? Would her kid love camping and be out in the open like this even when it's cold? Scarlett missed so much growing up, she didn't have much of a childhood as her parents were very well set on her academics from the moment she could talk.
She didn't go playing outside with friends, she didn't even have friends, neither did she go to themeparks or camping or have any family bonding time. Scarlett didn't want to raise her own kid the way she was raised, being raised like a prisoner until she was able to go to Hogwarts. By the time she was eleven she had more manners than most, very set on her goals and never even once bothered befriending people for a long time. These kids needed friends, they needed each other and those smiles, they were genuine.
Teddy explained his worries and business as they walked and got to the tent. "Oh god yes the dance was horrible." she said and shook her head. "Wished I didn't even go but I have appearances to make so people didn't think I was hiding for no reason.." she said and frowned. "Sometimes a girl needs solitude." she added quickly before walking into the beautifully decorated tent, almost feeling like a home just like that. "It's beautiful Teddy.." she said with a smile and turned to him.
If he wanted so much joy.. would her announcement bring him that? Would this even be the right time to tell him? When else was she going to do it? when the child was born? when she finds out the gender and he isn't there to see it? No she wasn't going to do that. "Tonight will be great I know it. But because it's the holidays." she reached for her bag and grabbed a medium sized box, she held it out to him.
"Merry Christmas." It was a very cheesy snowglobe, a big one though with a decorated house inside and the two of them sitting on the porch while a child was making a snowman. She had it enchanted so it would snow forever.. never had to shake it. "I hope you like it." she added and smiled a bit. The standard was made of marble and gold because it was still a gift from her, not a random gift shop. She spent enough money on it but not too much to make Teddy uncomfortable, hopefully.
Maybe after he saw the gift she could tell him. The young woman looked around the place and hummed. She found a place to sit and just flopped down on the bed because it looked comfortable. "I don't miss school one bit you know that? Been wanting to come here for a long time."
”Oh, really? Note to self: Scar likes the boss. Interesting,” Teddy’s grin was devilish, one that Scarlett had probably seen only a handful of times in their short sexual history. If a smile was capable of undressing another human being, Scarlett would be naked right now.
Moving along to discuss the Yule log, Teddy could see the intrigue in his girlfriend’s face. He watched her like a hawk, though as she described her family’s Christmas tradition his face fell as flat as the holiday sounded. ”No wonder you were so happy to have me whisk you away... that all sounds so terribly droll!” Teddy smiled at the gentle caress of her hand on his cheek and leaned into it for a mere moment. ”I’m sure we will. They’re all a hardy type of people and little celebrations like this really help to lift the spirits.”
Along the walk, Teddy had brought up the Yule Dance catastrophe and he listened with concern as Scarlett talked of it. ”You? Miss a dance? You’re right, that would be highly suspicious,” the man half joked, rubbing the small of his girl’s back gently as they came to his tent. ”Most of the time the food smell is good. Except when the cook’s preparing the cabbage. Then the whole place smells like fart.”
As Scarlett turned to say the place was lovely, Teddy gave the girl a sheepish grin. ”I’ll admit that Debbie came through the tent yesterday and made it... a lot more female friendly as she put it. So I guess it really should be her that you thank,” he said as he watched the girl reach into her bag and produce a wonderful snow globe.
”Oh, Scarlett it’s beautiful,” Teddy brought it up closer to have a good look. He could see the two of them sitting on the porch and the little kid with the snowman and it made him even more determined to make things right in the world again. So they could have what was in this globe. ”I promise we will have this some day. Sam and I and the rest of the wolves.... are going to make it happen. “
Teddy gently placed the globe down on the nearest surface and pulled Scarlett in for an amorous hug. ”Thank you,” he mumbled before giving her a long, passionate kiss. Soon after he let her go though she had flopped onto a soft surface and Teddy nodded in agreement, ”seventh year is the hardest. Not only because the workload and pressure but also as a young adult you’re just so ready for the real world to begin. Enjoy Hogwarts for the little time you have left there Scar, I know it’s hard to see but... there’s kids here that would give their left arm and leg to be where you are.”

A laugh came from her lips as Teddy made jokes. This is what she missed the most, his jokes and his warmness.. just here. His grin was panty dropping and god she wanted him now but the thought of sex when she really had something inside her because of it... she felt like it would be very wrong and yet still very tempting. God forbid what people had to deal with once her hormones started acting up, the poor souls in school wouldn't survive another day.
"Well I will thank her later then. Honestly I am not surprised. It would be quite odd if you had a feminine tent wouldn't it?" she teased and chuckled a bit as she sat there. She watched him and the globe, if he felt so good about the idea of a family then maybe.. maybe she would make the right call and tell him after they had the dinner, after she asked Sam for advice because let's face it.. she was the closest thing to a mother she had right now.
"I know we will, I know you will." she said before hugging him back, taking in his scent again. He smelled so nice, like the warmth she missed whenever he was gone. "I have faith in you.." she kissed him back and plopped down with him on a soft surface. "I really do think you guys will be able to make the world a better place. If they could only see the good in all of this.." she said and kissed his jaw.
"I know it's hard and I know what you mean but until you guys make the world see the light, unless everything gets better these kids are better off outside of it. Hogwarts is like a prison to most of us, there are fights, riots in classes.." she sighed. "Fear does that to people you know?" she cuddled up to him and smiled a bit anyway.
"Being an adult means we can be together for longer than two weeks.."
”Well according to Diane doing the laundry and changing the sheets more than once a week isn't a feminine thing - it's a hygeine thing," Teddy said with a roll of his eyes and an imitation of the pack's cook's higher, womanly voice. "Apparently the fact that I'm busy out dealing with St Mungos, the Trossachs and the Aurors doesn't mean I can skip my chores," he said with a chuckle and went to sit down beside Scarlett. He put the snowglobe on the middle of the table in his tent as he did.
"Mmm you can't send people into poverty by stripping them of their jobs, their hopes, their dreams and not expect the backlash. Not that I think that what the Trossachs are doing is right... but I do understand the frustration especially recently, with the extra auror presence - some of our members have gone further into hiding on Sam's property. I'd rather that than them lose their cool with the patrols though." Teddy ran his hands through his hair and sighed heavily.
"I just hope that they leave us alone on Christmas Day... Harry... I implored Harry to please give the patrols the day off... he said he'd do his best," Teddy believed in his God Father, who had looked out for him since his parents passed and even after Teddy fell victim to lycanthropy. It put Harry in a tenuous position, but he was the Boy Who Lived for a reason. "So all the pack will be here this evening, regardless of who is really staying over at Sam's. She'll be here too."
As Scarlett said that the environment that the kids were in now was better than in school, Teddy resisted the urge to shake his head. He couldn't agree. "We teach them what we can, but everyone here is so worried all the time about merely surviving. They'd have been better if they weren't bitten at all," Teddy groaned at himself and pinched the top of his nose. "But they have and I have to stop wishing that wasn't the case. Sorry. It's the full moon that just passed... makes you wish that you didn't go through it once a month, y'know? The rest of the time it's not all that big a deal."
"You're not scared? To be here?" Teddy asked when she said that everyone at school was acting up from the fear. "Your NEWTS will be soon... we haven't talked about what you're going to apply for as a job? I ... I hope the Ministry doesn't make things hard for you because of your errr assosciation with me?" Teddy knew that right now the law didn't prohibit non-werewolves but he always lived in fears that those who did have relationships with werewolves would lose their rights as well. "Did you get your apparition license sorted?"
