With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

And while you are sitting indoors waiting for the storm to pass I will be outside dancing in the rain
❧
Kaylie was seated against a tree at the lake, her eyes closed as she sat there. Times have changed and her body was still recovering. Kaylie refused to tell anyone what happened to her which resulted in her not going to the hospital wing to check things out.
Instead she tried at least to suffer in silence which was rudely interrupted by someone's presence nearby. She opened one eye to check who it was and her lips curled up in a smirk.
"Longbottom!" she greeted not really giving a damn about the girl either. "What are you looking for?"
Worrying her bottom lip, Grace was absolutely in a tizzy, combing her fingers through her long hair as she looked about frantically. It was here, right? It had to be. She had it last when she was here.
Grace had about to look under a rock of all things when suddenly, a voice calling her name made her head snap up. Immediately, she found herself shuffling uncomfortably. She had it in her head that Kaylie didn't particularly like her. But still, she'd try her very best to make an effort at conversation. “Hey… hi. I'm, hello. Sorry. I'm just… just looking for a book. It's big with a black cover and has my… my name on it too,” Grace said, still biting her lip. She was talking about her sketchbook, the one she always hid from people in fear of being judged. She'd had it early this morning at the lake whilst people were sleeping and now she'd lost it, it seemed. What if it got into the wrong hands?

Kaylie didn't really hate Grace, she just didn't totally want to be a friend of a nervous wreck who probably would burst out in tears within a second. Who could live like that? So weak and vulnerable for the best next person to destroy. If Kaylie wasn't at least even the slightest of decent she would have destroyed Grace a long time ago.
"Chill girl. Unless it's porn I am sure it will still be here somewhere." she said and tapped around her. Truth be told Kaylie didn't pay attention to where she was sitting. She found the book a few inches away from herself and held it up.
"Is it porn though?" she curiously asked as she made a motion to open it.
As Kaylie told her to chill, Grace's shoulders relaxed... for a split second because then Kaylie was saying a word that Grace had never uttered in her life. It was so... so vulgar, and immediately Grace turned the brightest shade of red she had in a while. "I... it's... oh, that's... it's not, um, that. Definitely not."
She knew what Kaylie was talking about... she had an older brother who hung out with boys with dirty mouths and the things Grace had overheard them talking about made her ears burn. But she'd never actually seen any of the stuff Kaylie was talking about. She didn't even know where to get it from... not that she'd even want to in the first place.
Grace shook her head quickly as Kaylie asked if it was that again and took a step forward, breath caught in her throat because Kaylie seeing Grace's sketches and mocking them after Grace had put such hard work into them was something she didn't want to happen. "It's just... just pictures. It's nothing... could I have it back, please?"

Kaylie didn't judge, honestly she was just teasing but this girl seemed like she would die from that. Then again she wondered if even flirting would go through that nervous skull of hers. The blonde slowly held out the book with a smirk on her face, this girl was so cute in her own little way that it was so easy to make her stutter.
"Oh you draw? I thought you wrote porn." she then opened the book and held the drawing out, not even seeing it herself.
"Am I in it or don't you do portraits?" she asked and smirked a bit as she peeked up to look at Grace a bit more.
The suggestion that Grace would ever write such a thing turned her an even deeper shade of pink, this time a blush spreading across her chest and travelling up her neck too, making her skin all splotchy.
"No, it's... it's just drawing..." Grace said quietly, frowning as Kaylie opened the book anyway and took out a drawing. It made her uncomfortable and yet instead of moving forward and snatching her art book away, Grace's arms wrapped around her stomach uncomfortably. Kaylie hadn't glanced at her drawing and yet her stomach was still starting to feel not so good.
"I do portraits... just, well. I'm still learning," Grace told Kaylie. Truth be told, Grace was pretty adequate at portraits. It's just that she was the harshest critic of her own work and she was always trying to improve. At the moment, she was still trying to get better at the perfecting the different looks in people's eyes - mischievous, bright eyes; dull, lifeless eyes; switched-on, intelligent eyes.
When Kaylie suggested that she be a model, Grace offered up a small smile. "I don't... I've only, um... I've only really drawn family before. I don't really draw other people." At least not to their knowledge. Sometimes she observed the human figure from far away, or tried to replicate the shape of someone's face from across the library.

Kaylie didn't want this girl to end up crying and just held the book out, not saying a word as she stuttered and looked like she was about to burst into a waterfall of tears. Kaylie was not that cruel of a person really. She would leave the cruel and mean words to the twins.
"Take your book then Longbottom.. I'm not a bad guy here." she chuckled a bit and looked at the beautiful blue sky. Summer was her favorite season and sadly soon it was going to be over, over and done with.
"So you want to be an artist then?" she asked and crossed her arms over her chest.
"I have no artistic skill in my body not even if I wanted them." she admitted with a small grin.
Stepping forward, Grace gratefully took her book from Kaylie's hands, holding it close to her chest as though it was a newborn baby rather than just a book. It was important to her. "Thank you," she said, complete sincerity in her words. Maybe Kaylie wasn't that scary after all.
Still standing, Grace was a bit unsure about the question Kaylie posed to her. "I - well, I really like drawing and everything... but... well, I'm not..." 'Very good,' Grace's mind filled in for her. "I think I might want to be a healer instead as a career. I really like helping people... do you know what you want to do after graduation? I mean, you don't - only if you want to share. I don't want to be nosy or anything by asking..."

Kaylie had her hands back in her lap as she watched Grace talk about her drawings, answering simple questions with great difficulty it seemed. Kaylie didn't think she made many girls nervous but here this girl was acting like she was talking to the queen herself.
"Oh I am sure you're wonderful." she said and shrugged a bit before taking off her leather jacket, she was feeling warm. "So a healer huh? I don't think I can see myself in any medical profession to be quite honest."
Kaylie did think about Grace's question though and it was hard to say whether she would want to do something meaningful or not. "I don't have high hopes for myself, we'll see where I end up." she said and looked ahead of her, she felt like a failure but didn't need to say it out loud.
"Oh, no. I wasn't - I didn't mean to seem like I was asking for compliments. It's just, well, there's so many great artists out there," Grace said, sending Kaylie a small smile. "Thank you though... do you, um... have hobbies?" That was probably a silly question though... everyone had hobbies, right?
"Yes, a healer. I hope. If I pass my NEWTs with all the right grades then I can hopefully go into healer training right after school," Grace murmured, sounding a little concerned as she spoke. She was worried that she wouldn't get the grades she needed... actually, she was worried about failing her NEWTs entirely.
As Kaylie answered Grace's question about what she wanted to do, immediately the Hufflepuff girl's lips tugged into a frown because the way Kaylie was speaking didn't sounded great. It sounded like she was on a path to nowhere, or at least Kaylie believed she was. "I'm sure you'll figure it out," Grace told Kaylie softly. "There's lots of things you can do with your NEWTs... and even without them."

Kaylie was never the artistic type unless it was music, she was not bad with the piano but she never told anyone that. Why would they want to know anyway? The blonde frowned when the other girl seemed to apologize for a compliment? What was that about?
"Wait aren't you that hufflepuff Valentino is after?" she teased a bit not being able to resist and grinned a bit more. "Girl don't worry, it was just a compliment because I wanted to give one, not because you make it seem like you are fishing for them."
Kaylie had no idea what kept this girl from blowing up in shame and blushes. Was her skin laced with tomatoes?
"Hobbies? I suppose I have some but none worth mentioning." she said and shrugged a bit. "Ah a healer." she nodded as she thought about her own future. What was out there for her? She couldn't think of a single thing.
"I don't know, even if I get good grades a girl like me never gets far in life I am afraid." She said with a slight sigh.
"Probably jail at some point." there was a joking laugh as she said it.
When Kaylie said the words 'that Hufflepuff Valentino is after,' Grace blinked in confusion at first before all of a sudden frowning. Merlin, did she do something to Alana to make her come after her? She didn't think so! She was perfectly pleasant to the girl in her minimal interactions with her even though Alana scared the living daylights out of her. "Um... did... did I do something wrong? I didn't - I would never mean to hurt Alana's feelings or anything," she said, sounding concerned over the matter.
"I'm sure you have some worth mentioning. Do you play Quidditch or anything?" Grace asked her curiously. Everyone had to have something to pass the time after all, something that was special to them.
Kaylie's next words had Grace frowning yet again because the way she was talking just... had her concerned, really concerned. "Jail - oh, no. You wouldn't land in Azkaban! You seem so lovely, I can't ever imagine you committing a crime."

Alana after Grace? She didn't think Alana would even bat an eye towards her but she thought the same about Aiden until he actually interacted with Grace. Maybe he was human after all? Kaylie laughed a bit, god Grace seemed terrified of Alana and if Kaylie was her she probably would've felt the same way.
"Oh honey no. I mean Aiden." she laughed and shook her head. "I think he likes you." Kaylie truthfully didn't know anything for sure but Aiden actually smiled and talked to Grace and the four nippled moron had no friends so whatever he was doing it worked.
"I am not the jock type I'm afraid." she told Grace and truthfully Kaylie expected to be dead before reaching graduation. Maybe even before she made it to Christmas and New Year's. The blonde had a frown on her features and it was hard to shake off.
"Nah I won't hurt a soul unless I have to." she said and shrugged. "I might look badass but these hands.. they need care."
Grace's frown only intensified as Kaylie all of a sudden announced that Aiden liked her... and immediately, she was filled with dread. Was... was Kaylie making fun of her? Was this some kind of joke? Because there was no way that Aiden would ever like her. She wasn't... she was too boring, too plain, too... Grace. She wasn't somebody anyone ever liked as more than a friend.
As Kaylie continued to answer Grace's questions, the Hufflepuff girl's mind was elsewhere, too busy dwelling over what had just been said. After shoving her art book down into her bag, Grace feigned a small smile. "Sorry... I've, um... I've gotta go. My brother - I... forgot I was gonna go meet with him. I'll, um... I'll see you later," she said quietly, and just like that she was gone and walking off towards the castle.
