With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
With Christmas approaching and the horrors of the dance behind everyone, the final game before the holidays has arrived. It's cold, snowy and everyone was told to dress up warm and cozy as the players rounded up on the field. The winner of this game has been told would face Hufflepuff for the cup while the loser of the game would face Slytherin. Once everyone was on their brooms, a whistle was blown and the quaffle thrown into the air.
The bludgers and the snitch are released and the game has started!
(It's cold so you can defintely mention your character was cut by the cold wind, try to keep it clean. A staff member will post after actions have been taken with the appropriate time to respond. Every player gets 48 hours to respond before action by the staff members are taken. Another player can at any time intercept but don't take away the fun of will I get hit yes or no! Some slots aren't taken yet, so if you wish to have a student signed up feel free to do so and then post here, otherwise npcing is allowed just post that you npc! The snitch will be released by a staffer and when it does you (the winning seeker) will receive a pm to catch it.)

Right now, Wolfgang should be laying in a warm hospital bed, dozing off after another portion of sedatives and sleeping away his misery. Instead, someone had convinced the Hospital wing matron that letting the students play Quidditch would be good for their morale, and everyone else had been supportive of said thought. The Ravenclaw chaser didn't have the strength to argue with his housemates, so he didn't even object.
He'd thought that it would be like any other Quidditch game. He'd shave his hair in the evening, it would grow back nicely overnight and nobody would care much for the bandages on his face.
Seeing himself in the mirror the following day was akin to being repeatedly hit in the gut with a broomstick. His hair hadn't grown even an inch, if anything, he felt like it had gotten thinner. The dark circles under his eyes were prominent, and when he peeled his bandages back to change them, he almost threw up on the floor. He looked awful. He felt awful. And yet, there was a Quidditch game he had to be present for.
Now he was hovering above ground, looming like a bird of slightly above the rest of the players. Some small part of him hoped that his stare alone would dissuade the others of engaging him, and if not that, perhaps they'd take pity on his bandaged face. But a Quidditch pitch was like a Roman Colosseum and the teams -- wild beasts.
Even though his pride was hurt and he felt like a sad husk of Wolfgang Kallenbach, he wasn't going to let anyone take advantage of it. No, he would make sure this game was as short as possible. The sooner it's over, the better.
As soon as the start was signaled, he lunged after the Quaffle.

This was it, her moment to shine. Mavican had been waiting for this match not because of who she fought but because Quidditch was in her blood, in her soul and she would do everything to show it. The redhead had no care in the world and clung onto her bat as she rushed after one of the bludgers and looked at her own seeker before hitting the bludger towards the Gryffindor one. Take the seeker out and you got a bigger chance at winning, it's called strategy something she doubted the Gryffindor's had.
Mavican looked around and grinned a bit. This was going to be great.

Emil was glad that the school had decided to go ahead with the next Quidditch match, even after all that had happened. In the cold and dark of the Scottish winter, with memories of the Winter Ball attack hanging over everyone's head, the students really did need something to lift their spirits. Plus, it would be a lovely Christmas present for the Ravenclaws if they were able to make it into the final match over Gryffindor. Gryffindor's team was full of tough competitors, but they would play their hardest.
Or so he hoped, considering that the usually confident Wolfgang looked absolutely miserable, and Emil was starting to worry he'd have to carry the whole Quaffle side of the game on his own. He did his best to give his own confident smile to the team as a replacement while they waited for the match to begin, but he felt like not everyone's head was in it. It didn't look good...
But as soon as the whistle blew, things seemed to change. Wolfgang snatched the Quaffle before any of the Gryffindors, and Mavican was headed straight for a Bludger, as if she had a sixth sense about where the heavy balls were about to fly. Emil shot toward the Gryffindor goalposts, weaving through the other Chasers. "Here, Wolfgang!" he called, hoping his teammate could pass the Quaffle over while he was still open.

This was Matheus' fourth year on the Quidditch team, playing as a chaser, and he just knew that this year the Quidditch Cup was theirs. How could it not be? Gryffindor had the strongest beaters, the fastest chasers, the keeper with greatest reflexes (eyyy, how you doin', Leo?), and the seeker with the best eyesight. It was, like... destiny. Plus, their team was smokin' hot. 'That helps somehow,' Matheus thought with a smooth grin as he ran his eyes over each member of their team. "Let's show everyone we know how to ride our broomsticks and ride them well," he said, voice full of innuendo as he kicked up off into the air.
Eyeing Wolfgang who was catapulting towards the quaffle, and Emil who was shouting for the boy to throw it in his direction, Matheus inched forward, a tiny bit away from Emil. He was ready to dart forward and intercept the quaffle just in case Wolfgang threw it at Emil. He had this chaser covered, and he hoped that his fellow teammates had the sense to block the other chaser, or whack a bludger straight at the Wolfgang who was looking worse for wear... but despite the guy's pretty... gruesome appearance, Matheus would still go there. Happily so. "I can patch you up later if you want," he called, face the picture of innocence as his eyes stayed on the quaffle in Wolfgang's arms. Then with a playful tone, he added, "Can patch you up too later if you want, querido," in Emil's direction.
The school definitely needed this after the horrors of the dance, and Ari didn't let a bandaged up arm and leg stop her from participating. It's not like her arm or leg was broken, they both were fully functional. The witch knew this would lift her spirits with her trying to defend her goal and be the best Keeper this school has ever seen. She was very pumped because she didn't think an attack should stop them. When the whistle was blown Ari flew right to the ring and she defended it. Those chasers were not going to get past her, well she hoped they wouldn't get past her she wanted to win this match badly.
Watching from the goals, the witch saw as Mavican shot a bludger at her cousin and despite him being family. Ari definitely thought it was a good strategy with taking the seeker out, which meant that the only way Gryffindor could win if the chasers managed to get quite a few goals that could amount past 150.And she didn't plan on letting that happen just as long as she was fast enough.

Considering that he was the new keeper for the Hufflepuff team, Willow had to attend every quidditch game to see the outcome. He needed to know his rivals and to spot the good chasers among the bunch. He was also concerned about what beaters were the most dangerous ones, and which ones focused on only taking out the seekers. To sum up, he needed to do his homework. The boy therefore sat with his elbows resting on his lap, leaning forwards, seeing how the game unfolded itself.
His eyes spotted Arielle. A good friend of his who was now a rival. She was the Ravenclaw keeper, and Willow saw how carefully she watched each hoop, making sure that no quaffle would get past her. Willow looked forward till his first game, but for now he had to do his studies, and that being watching others having all the fun. The boy therefore did not partake in the cheering, in fact, he had no idea which house to cheer for, because it made no difference for him. Instead, he hoped that a good friend like Arielle would have a wonderful match.
She probably did not see him from where she was hovering in the air, although he was watching her until the bludger, which Mavican hit, raced by him towards the seeker, Matthew Cartwright. It was a great strategy, and Willow wondered if there would be a Gryffindor beater nearby to save him.

Matthew knew it was his last year to prove that he can be good at quidditch since he will graduate end of this school year. So Gyffindor seeker tried to do his best there now. He wanted his team to win so he was trying to search for the snitch when he noticed the bludger coming his way then he was surprised. He didn't think the Ravenclaw seeker would do something like that. So only way to get not hit was to avoid it. That's what the boy did do. He didn't want to end up in infarmary for sure. So he just bent down, so he wouldn't be hit by that any way and also maneuvered out of the way. "Not so easily," he said to the Ravenclaw beater, Matt knew it was her who sent it. Everyone else were to focused on the game.

The Quaffle was safely nested in between his left arm and the side of his chest as Wolfgang pulled his broom upwards to gain even more height, hoping to get a good look at the layout of the players. EMIL ZALEWSKI was close enough for a pass, but MATHEUS DELGADO hadn't wasted any time blocking him.
Of course, in his usual fashion, the Gryffindor chaser attempted to flirt with both of the Ravenclaws, hoping to fluster them and make them lose their composure. They had hooked up, yes, but only once, in September, no less. Plus, Wolfgang wasn't too impressed with his lack of any kind of intellectual side. All brawn and no brains.
"Thanks, but I've got someone else for that." he responded, sharply diving down and towards the Gryffindor goals. He had one trick against Delgado hidden in his sleeve (or, no doubt how he would like to put it, between his legs) -- Wolfgang flew on his trusty Nimbus 2001, and the school broom Delgado flew would have to exert itself to keep up with him.
None of the other Gryffindor chasers were to be seen around, so went straight for the hoops, got as close as he could and threw a fast ball at the right hoop. He didn't look back, waiting for the crowd's reaction to tell him if he had been successful, immediately flying back towards the center of the field to be ready for whatever came next.
A miss well that didn't mean she couldn't do it again. At some point he won't notice her and he won't notice the bludger with his eyes on the skies. Mavican hit the bludger at Jordan this time to make sure Wolfgang could make a clean score. Honestly she was going to hit these bludgers like her life depended on it so Mavican really was not feeling a single threat by the twins who had beaten many players for a long time.
This game was their last, this was the last time she was able to do this for school before making it to the pro's. She had scouts left and right so Ryker was already completely sorted but that didn't mean she wasn't going to give it her all to bring the cup home to the Gryffindor team. When a bludger went for Cartwright the idiot luckily avoided it but the ginger was a threat and Ryker didn't like it.
The bludger was then sent to Leo and she rushed towards it, hitting it away and back at the redhead who hit the bludger again towards their seeker. "God darnit." she said and eyed Elijah, where was her brother? She rushed for the bludger but the thing was approaching their seeker fast.
Leo was both super hyped and a bit nervous. He was always hyped before Quidditch games and ready to do his very best, but this time he was a bit nervous too because he knew that there were scouts there watching them and he wanted to show them what he could do. And definitely not mess up. That would be horrible. Therefore he tired to remind himself that, even if he wasn't picked right here, on this day, he could still go to try-outs with all kinds of teams. Everything would turn out just fine. And his mother would remind him that he first had to get the agreed on number of NEWT's first before he was allowed to even consider the career. But in his mind he already had them in the bag.
But now it was Quidditch time.
Leo could only shake his head at what he supposed was meant to be encouragement from Matheus. Instead of commenting, he just high-five'd his friend before mounting his broom and kicking off hard as soon as the whistle was blown. Quidditch was a fast game where seconds could make a difference. Leo knew that, but it didn't keep him from doing a double-take when he saw the Ravenclaw chaser's heavily bandaged face. With a twinge he thought back to the horrible night of the ball, his stomach twisting painfully for a second. That second was enough for the more focussed chaser to take hold of the Quaffle and Leo to curse himself. It took him another second to shake the glum thoughts out of his head and get to racing after the Ravenclaw. And it didn't help that one fault of his Starsweeper XX was that sometimes in particularly cold weather it had trouble getting up to speed in the first few minutes. Releasing another string of curse words, he pushed his broom to go faster, flattening himself as much as possible. Luckily Matheus had the other chaser covered and Leo himself wasn't far off from Wolfgang anymore, albeit beneath him. That was until he heard a bludger rushing towards him. He turned to see it coming and was about to dodge it, when Ryker appeared and hit it hard towards the other team's seeker. "Thanks" he called, for in a match it didn't matter if they were friends or not. Right now they were team mates, nothing more nothing less. Pushing his broom even faster, he was finally catching up with Wolfgang, hovering.
