With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

The night was young and most of the students were still at dinner so the common room was thankfully devoid of life. The fire was warm, filling the place with a gentle orange light as it flickered in its confines. Willy's eyes were trained on the flames as his fingers deftly pulled another billywig sting from its pouch. He'd lost count of the stings that he'd ingested.
They were meant to make you giddy.
As the flames danced and Willy's long, lizard-like tongue flickered out to collect the sting from his palm. He closed his amber coloured eyes as he savoured the instant rush that swept over his body as the venom travelled into the blood stream beneath his now normal tongue. There was music, Willy could almost swear to it, coming from the fire and it was what those pretty little flames were dancing to.
Hehehehehe.
Willy hiccuped as he flopped himself onto the ground off the couch. "Hehehe, twinkle twinkle little flame...." Willy reached out his hand to touch the dancing flames, but laughed at his own idiocy because he was still too far away from the fireplace itself.

Nadya did not feel like going to dinner. It seemed that she had caught a cold, something that had been a small sniffle in the morning but had turned into what felt like her whole face was swollen over the day of classes. If she went to dinner, she was sure she'd sneeze all over everyone else's food while barely eating anything herself. Needless to say, she was feeling rather miserable. She could have gone to the hospital wing, she knew, but right now she wanted nothing more than to curl up in her bed for the night. If she was still coughing in the morning, then she'd go. Or simply make herself the Pepperup Potion--that would be better than being stuck in the hospital wing for what she knew would be far longer than necessary.
And if Papa asked, this had definitely not happened because she had been wandering around in the Forbidden Forest in winter.
With everybody else in the Great Hall, she had expected to be the only one back in the common room at the moment, perhaps getting to warm herself up by the fire before she went to bed--she was shivering a little, though only a little, she told herself!--but as she made her way over to the elegantly decorated fireplace, a hiccup, a mumble, and some sort of hand movement came from what appeared to be a lump on the floor.
But Nadya, even with red eyes, could tell just who it was. After spending seven years with him, there was no way not to know. She crossed her arms, and, when the lump seemed not to notice her footsteps, "Willy, I enjoy Billywigs as much as the rest of us, but I'm not charming you down from the ceiling when you float up there." She sniffed again.

Heeeeeheeee heeeheee. Hiccup.
Willy's trance with the flames that were just out of reach was broken by the sound of an angel... a sick sounding angel but one none-the-less. The young man rolled over, expecting it to be a lot more difficult than it really was because the side-effects of the billywig stings were beginning to lift his body from the ground. Only slightly, mind - barely noticeably, really, except for the fact that when young Mister Wagtail rolled onto his back he rolled at least three times over and ended up at Nadya's footsies.
"Naddi-Naddi-Nadddii, has anyone ever told you you've got sexy tootsies?" Willy said with an intoxicated grin that was a lot sexier in his mind than in reality. Then again, Willy didn't even know if what he was walking his black-painted fingers along the carpet towards were naked feet, slippered feet or … well if they were even feet. Hiccup. "Sexy Nady, come lay with me and stare at the starrrrrs," he pointed lazily at the roof that decidedly had no real stars visible. "Wait... whatchu sniffling for? Are you sad that there aren't any stars?"

"You can't even see my tootsies for them to be sexy in the first place. I've got socks on, Willy. I think you're seeing things." Nadya always preferred to walk around with bare feet, especially outdoors, but when she was shivering like this? Not a chance. She couldn't wait to get under the thick blankets on her bed and drift off into a pleasant nap. Willy, on the other hand, appeared to be having a pleasant nap, full of interesting dreams, with his eyes still open. "I didn't know you had a thing for feet, either. Or is that an effect of the stings, too?" She dabbed at her red nose with the sleeve of her sweater, then stepped over her classmate's slightly hovering body to get closer to the fire. The heat of the flames washed over her pleasantly, a welcome relief from the cold dungeon.
She reached her hands closer to the fire, looking back down at Willy, who showed no sign of getting up any time soon. "The stars are outside, if you want them," she offered, "but you'll probably have to float yourself upstairs for that." Feeling rather tired from the long day and from the warmth she was finally getting, Nadya sat down on the couch, deciding to wait just a little longer by the fire before going to bed. It would be better to shiver less by the time she got under the covers. "I didn't know you were so interested in spending the night with me. Would've been a better time to ask when I wasn't sick," she noted, even though she wasn't entirely sure how many of her words were being understood.

"Nowwww noww don't you be arguing with me, you naughty Naddi," Willy waved his finger at the witch, much like he imagined Marry Poppins would. Instead, it was more like one large sweeping gesture like a conductor at an orchestra. "I can see your tootsies they're right there," he reached out to the girl and walked his fingers up them from the tip of her socked toe up the arch and with a rather creepy grin a little higher. "They're like a .. a sexy yeti," Willy chuckled because damn girl they furry.
Willy made no attempt to hide the fact that he tried to catch a peek as the girl stepped over him to the fire. Giggling, he tried to grasp at the dressing gown he imagined she was wearing but he caught air between his fingers instead. "You're... you're faster than a billywig, anyone ever tell you that?" Willy grumbled good-humouredly, as he tried to focus and perch himself up with his elbows. "Mmm no, I just have a thing for your tootsies," Will said, wriggling both his brows and his own socked feet as he grinned at Nadya. "They're so soft and furry."Merlin's mother, William, they're socks.
"If you tied a string to me, I think you could get me outside like a little kiddie with a ballooo-oo-ooon," how many o's were in the word balloon Willy wondered? exactly as many as he'd used, in his humbly high opinion. Still, through his giddiness Willy could see Nadya move to sit on the couch and he made some effort to shuffle with his elbows in her direction. It was very unco-ordinated but ultimately effective way to close the distance thanks to the slight float he had on himself.
"You're sick? I betcha caught it off Scarlett. If you vom, just know I'll vom right with you," Willy's skin unconsciously turned a lovely shade of green, as if to emphasise just how much of a drama queen the metamorphmagus could be. "We can be vom-brothers," he giggled, as if everyone would know that he was talking about the time-honoured childhood tradition of mixing blood together to become blood-brothers. "Would a sting make you feel better? Cuz I've got like... ten left annnnnnnnnd if you don't want them I'll have 'em."

As Willy began to dance his fingers up her foot, Nadya had to resist the urge to kick the hand away--"That tickles, Willy," she grumbled, "let me sit in peace. And what is it you want my school robes for?" She pulled the foot up under her, sitting cross-legged, and the corner of her robes that Willy had been grabbing at along with it. "Yes, you've heard me wrong all along. I'm actually half-yeti. That's why I'm very--ah--fluffy." With that, she sniffled once more, glancing down at the boy on the floor--or slightly above the floor, as the case was. If only she was a little fluffier, then she might not feel like she was freezing even right next to the fire.
"Shall I get one of the first-years to come float you around, then?" Nadya didn't really speak to any first-years, but they did look much like children who might enjoy a balloon--although she could not remember if she still enjoyed balloons at eleven. "Yes, sick, if you couldn't tell. I don't think I caught it from Scarlett, no," Nadya said, "she's just got a stomach bug." Yeah, a stomach bug. At least as far as Nadya was willing to tell Willy. "And I've got a cold." As if to punctuate the sentence, she sneezed into her sleeve.
She didn't think a billywig sting would be proper medicine in the slightest--there were teas and herbs back in her trunk that would actually help her--but Willy's offer was tempting. If he was too high to care about anything that was going on, Nadya thought doing the same thing might make her a bit more cheerful about the whole situation. Less likely to hex the head off any first-year who might decide to come bother the common room as soon as dinner was done.
"Alright, hand me one," she said, "but just one. Don't think floating off the floor will do me any good like this."
