With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The past few days had been a rollercoaster. She had been trying to make sense of it all but she couldn't if she wanted to. The girl was seated on the lawns on a picnic blanket, she liked the softness off it and had a regular blanket wrapped around her as it was a bit chilly outside and her eyes were on a book she was given by her brother to read. He was such a good writer and she was completely into his newest crime novel.
Ollie was very much into it. Crime novels, tv shows, they were her favorite thing in the world. During the holidays she would cuddle up with David and watch his favorite crime shows together. They were so interesting and maybe if she were a muggle she would totally be into being a police officer. She wouldn't be such a badass though like the women on tv.
Ollie was lost in thoughts and when she saw a mere shadow she freaked out. The girl almost tossed the book, she had to try to catch it before clinging onto it and looked at the shadow belonging to a bird. "Oh gosh.." she exhaled and shook her head. Ollie looked around for possible company and smiled brightly when it appeared to be Grace passing by.
"Grace! hi!" she waved hoping her friend could hear and see her.

With her hair piled onto of her head, loose tendrils curling down to frame her features, Grace was looking somewhat relaxed as she took a stroll along the lawns in her weekend clothes. She had finished all her assignments so far, had read her romance book from cover to back, and now she didn't have anything else to do. So a walk, it was!
Or it was, until Grace heard a familiar voice call out to her and immediately, she turned to see who it was only to find Ollie. Breaking into a smile, Grace walked over to the girl and invited herself to sit next to her. "Making friends with the birdies, Ollie?" she asked, nodding towards the sweet little bird lingering nearby the younger Hufflepuff girl.
Ollie hadn't seen her friend in a while and not only because they didn't have classes together anymore but also because Ollie was an itsy bitsy busy bee. She adored her time away from her busy schedule and the dramatic events but she didn't expect to get scared of a bird! The blonde eyed her friend with a bright smile, her arm reaching out to share a blanket with Grace.
"Well he kind of spooked me but it's a pretty birdie! What kind of bird would it be though? I don't know much about them!" she chuckled and looked at Grace. "How have you been? I haven't seen you in a while!" she carefully put the copy of her brother's book away and eyed the little bird looking for a meal for itself.
"How are your classes going? It's so sad we don't have classes together anymore!"

Gratefully, Grace took the half of the blanket that Ollie offered her, draping it over her lap with a smile because that really was Ollie in a nutshell, wasn't it? Kind, considerate, willing to help out people no matter what. She was one of the sweetest people Grace knew, and that was including all of the Hufflepuffs.
"He won't do anything. Just wants to be nosy. He's probably cold too," Grace said, shooting the bird and then Ollie another smile. Though, the question of what kind of bird it would be made the girl's cheeks flood with colour because by Merlin, that was a question she wasn't fully... well, she shouldn't answer, especially considering where talking about types of birds landed her last time. "Um... it's... a, er... a starling. Not a - not anything else. Just a plain old starling."
At Ollie's question, the multiple ones in fact, Grace wanted to frown. Because truthfully, the answer to both of them, were 'not great.' But instead, she smiled and said, "They're... they're fine. I just - I thought doing my OWLs were difficult enough, but NEWTs are worse. How are your classes? How are you?"
Birds were so pretty, Ollie was always quite intrigued by them because they seemed like the most carefree animals in the world. The girl looked at her blonde friend and listened to her as she said the bird was probably also cold. Oh the poor thing! Ollie panicked a little and looked around.
"Does he need a blanket?" she was sure he'd fly away if she tried to give him some warmth. She could see that Grace was nervous about the bird a bit and she wondered if Ollie asked anything wrong. "starlings are pretty, do you think he likes us?" she asked and eyed the bird again.
"Oh yes tests are never fun but you can do it! You're smarter than you think. You're from a family full of badasses right?" she said with a smile and bumped her arm softly.
"I am alright, I actually went out with a boy and been helping people lately. The usual." she chuckled except the boy wasn't usual not to Ollie. "Aside from the boy, i don't go out with boys much! I never did.. it's not easy.. or common I swear."

At Ollie's question, Grace's features drew into a puzzled expression and she shook her head. "No... no, birds, when it's winter they puff up to try and trap air in their feathers," she explained patiently, before watching the bird for a moment before letting out a laugh. "Well, he hasn't flown away or tried to peck out our eyes yet, so I think that's a good sign."
"I... I mean, I guess my family are full of bad... er, bottoms. But they're not really studiers, you know?" Grace tried to explain. Arthur wasn't very academic, and she knew for a fact that her dad struggled with magic at her age and during exams, her own mother had several breakdowns. It led to having pretty empathetic parents who didn't place much pressure on her, but Grace still did. She often felt that she needed to do better, work harder.
What Ollie said next made Grace let out a giggle and she glanced at her friend, asking curiously, "Which boy did you go out with?" In a way... knowing that Ollie, who was younger than her, had gone out with boys in the past made Grace feel a tiny bit inadequate. A bit helpless and self-pitying too. It felt like at this rate, she'd never be asked out by a boy let alone kiss one.
