With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The castle smelt different from his old school. It was an odd observation but he couldn't help but make. It made different sounds, creaks and groans as it shifted. The stairs moving was peculiar but altogether quite annoying. He had quite some time before his next class but navigating was proving to be quite difficult without a map or directions. He didn't have a designated buddy and the Slytherin prefects had seemingly forgotten how little he knew of the school. So there he was, in the Great Hall. He'd arrived at breakfast quite early, and as such had finished up earlier than expected. He'd identified a few students that frequented in his class, but it was his first day with Charms first.
He was milling, he knew that, but he was truly floundering. He didn't want to take the time away from the prefects, knowing that they'd have their attention on the smaller children. Raouf was a big boy, he could handle this himself. The idea of being lost in such a large stone building was a little startling but he had too much pride to go back into where the others were eating, and request the assistance of someone else. He half-hoped that someone would see the confusion on his face and approach him but that was a bit of an ask. Instead, he was staring at the hourglasses as if they could give him some vital information. It was not helpful, but it was mounting the embarrassment he was feeling. Just as he decided to suck it up and go ask for help, he turned into someone who was trying to pass by him.
"آسـِف! آسـِف!" He stepped away, repeating himself for clarity. It was a Hufflepuff prefect girl that he'd run into and he felt the embarrassment come flooding back. "I am sorry. I did not see you. Are you okay?"

With her long blonde braid over one shoulder and her book bag slung over the over, Grace was ready for Charms that started in another half an hour... in theory, at least. Mentally, she was panicking hardcore because even though she'd qualified for the NEWT class, she still wasn't fantastic at the practical side of Charms. Often she found herself messing up the spellwork in front of her peers, resulting in a very embarrassed Grace who chided herself inwardly because she was a Prefect. She should be good at this stuff... but she just wasn't.
Frowning and caught up in her thoughts, Grace rounded the corner only to find herself bumped into. Thankfully, it wasn't hard enough to knock her over entirely but rather push her backwards a few steps instead. Making sure she was completely stable on her feet, Grace glanced up to see a boy standing across from her. He was new, she recognised him from some of her classes, but she hadn't had a chance to speak to him yet. He was cute, and she was afraid all that would come out would be nervous, silly babbling.
When the boy spoke initially, it was in another language. Arabic, maybe? Grace didn't understand what he was saying but soon he switched to English and immediately, she rushed to reassure him. "N-no, it's my fault. I, um... should have watched where I was going. I was just - my head was just in another place. Not literally... though." Obviously. "Um... sorry, my name's Grace. Gracie, if you want. You're new, right? How are you going with Hogwarts so far?"
Raouf thought himself to be such a fool, running into some random person just because of his own carelessness! He gave her a quick glance over to make sure that he hadn't hurt her, as unlikely as it was that he had done so. He was shorter than her and hadn't slammed into her. Still, it was better to double check, just in case. His eyes focussed onto her face as she began to stammer out an apology of her own, giving a deep dip of his head in acknowledgement of her introduction. The girl in front of him certainly looked like a Grace, and he was surely lucky to have stumbled into her and not some nasty kid. He still found it so odd to be handed nicknames and first names when first meeting people, but luckily, he rarely had to start his own introductions.
"Yes, I'm Raouf. Hogwarts is fine... I'm a little lost." He gave a humourless chuckle, sounding more like a huff than a laugh. It was a little awkward, this whole scenario. He supposed that it was still the duty of a prefect to help other students out, even if they weren't in the same house. Maybe she'd have enough time to direct him, or even walk him to his class. "I am supposed to be going to grade six and seven Charms class. I do not know where the classroom is."

Raouf's eyes were quite striking as he looked at her and Grace desperately wanted to clutch a charcoal in her hand and sketch out the deep, chocolate brown of his irises surrounding the inky black darkness of his pupils. But... she didn't want the awkwardness of asking if she could do so and possibly being rejected, so she kept quiet instead, smiling up at him. "Oh, I got lost so many times when I first started. My brother, his name is Arthur, was a year above me and he thought it was hilarious to point me in the wrong direction every time I asked him," Grace said, shaking her head with amusement. It was funny now, but at the time she'd had a few major freak outs that she'd be in trouble with the professors.
Then Raouf said he wasn't able to find the Charms class and Grace was immediately nodding, saying, "I'm off to Charms myself... did you want to walk with me? We can, um... chat. Or walk in silence. It's... either way is an option." She hoped he chose the former though because she knowing her, she'd babble to try and fill the silence. "So, um... you transferred this year, right? What... what school did you go to before?"

A smile tugged at the corner of Raouf's mouth as she described what her brother would do to her, which he tried to disguise with a frown. "That unkind of him...It is what siblings do, correct? I don't have any siblings, but I assume they would have done the same for me." With that statement, the amusement left his eyes as he reflected on exactly why that was. His mother had been expecting in 2011...but that had been a year ridden in tragedies. He'd always wanted a little brother, and most of his friends had long extended families.
"Oh yes, that would be very nice. I would appreciate that a lot, thank you." Raouf responded to her offer, choosing not to answer the end of her sentence as he wasn't exactly sure what he wanted to do. Grace seemed quite friendly but he still wasn't sure of her. There was also the added unfamiliar territory of speaking with a female stranger alone which was out of his comfort zone. He gave a swift nod in answer to her question, "Yes, I transferred from Uagadou, which is a magical school in Africa. I lived in Egypt, so it was the most prestigious school nearby. It served me well, but I wanted to move with my mother." Words: 217

Grace didn't miss the smile that was toying at the corner of Raouf's lips that he attempted to conceal with a frown and she shook her own head, laughing. "It's okay, I'm over it now. It was just not so nice at the time. I won't be upset if you smile," she said before nodding at Raouf's assumption. "I mean, I think so? Arthur's always been like that, and I try to get him back as much as I can. He's a pain in my bottom, but I love him all the same." Suddenly it was like the atmosphere shifted, the look in Raouf's eyes changing, and she couldn't help but wonder... had she said something wrong?
Grace shifted a little awkwardly on her feet before she made the executive decision to start walking to the Charms class, assuming that he would follow alongside her. It would be quite awkward if he didn't, in all honestly. "Uagadou... is that where, um... that's where Junaid used to go, right? He's so kind. Did the two of you know each other when you went there?" Grace asked. She'd helped Jun out a few times last year, shown him around the castle once or twice. It hadn't surprised her all that much when he'd made prefect, and she was looking forward to patrolling with him. "So your mother and you moved over to... England, or somewhere else in the UK then?"
