With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Early mornings never seemed to quite change. The Hufflepuff common room was quiet as the sun was slowly shining through the circular windows, making the plants seem to bloom as a welcoming good morning greeting. The painting of Helga Hufflepuff was showing the woman being vast asleep and who could blame her? who in the right mind was up at this hour? It was about five in the morning when the colourful rays slowly reached the face of the young female sitting in a comfortable armchair, her feet resting on the polished honey-coloured table.
There was a sound of scribbling breaking the silence you’d expect in the common room. Rae could have done this in her bed, holding her diary and just scribble down every single instance of her life but instead of doing that, she chose to sit in the common room, dressed and ready. Her chocolate brown eyes almost had a sparkle in them from the reflection of the sun as they focused on the writing and only when she felt like she was finished, did she stretch her arms in the air. The popping of her joints almost sounding like a relief, a groan of pleasure leaving her lips as the girl stretched her entire body in that armchair.
The thud on the hard wooden floor had seemed to have woken the Helga Hufflepuff painting because there was a hint of movement, a frown of annoyance on her face. “Oh come on lady, it’s a beautiful morning,” Rae said with a cheerful and amused tone in her voice as she picked up the diary that had fallen and tucked it into her bag before getting up on her feet. The feeling of plants brushing her head made her look up with a small smile. “Good morning Steve,” she said to the plant above her head before she turned to grab her glass of water. With what she felt like was a swift move, Rae got up on the chair and poured some water on the plant from her glass before jumping back down off it.
Rae was quite the morning person though she didn’t use to be. Rae used to be late for classes when she was younger, oversleep every single day that it almost became something the professors got used to. When she made the quidditch team, it changed. Rae was up early to practice every single day and ever since her injury that just became pointless. Yet she still seemed to be the morning person she had become for it and Rae was actually okay with it. She didn’t mind being up very early every morning and watch the sunrise from the little window, the plants wake and smell breakfast the moment she stepped out of the Hufflepuff common room into the hallways of the basement.
The sound of her footsteps seemed to echo as she walked out into the great hall to grab a few sandwiches before going outside. The smell of fresh air hitting her shivers going down her spine because the mornings were anything but warm and a smile on her face as she headed for the quidditch pitch. Call her pathetic, call her hopeless or even just insane but she wanted to spend her mornings in the place where she lost any chance she had on a career. She didn’t go there to remind herself of it, she didn’t go there to watch people either but she went there because in the early mornings there was simply no one there.
Rae loved being around people but that didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy the silence and peace of nature. By the time she arrived at the pitch most of the population was awake and there was a hint of surprise when she spotted someone at the pitch. It wasn’t as much as spotting someone as it was hearing sounds near the dressing room and it made Rae beyond curious as usual. It was about ten in the morning by the time Rae had gotten there, it took her a while knowing she liked to enjoy every little thing on her way there but as she had walked to the pitch she surely hadn’t noticed anyone near her getting there as well.
Rae just happily walked up to the dressing rooms, boys on one side, girls on the other and just looked around for anyone there. Rae would’ve written this down as the scene of an old horror movie, the moment she turned around a corner she let out a yelp before stumbling backwards. It wasn’t like she saw something horrible, no it was just a bunny scaring her when it jumped right past her and ran for its life. Rae needed to calm her heart rate down and turned around to walk back so she could get to the stands when she basically bumped into someone a lot taller and bigger than a bunny. “Oh shit.” she gasped, feeling her heart rate go back up again.
“Matheus, eh hi.” she felt her cheeks flush red because god, who was scared of a bunny and then a guy in front of her. “Did I just rob you of a shower, I am quite sorry about that. There was just…” no she wasn’t going to admit it. “Something, scaring me.” Rae nodded a bit, yep that was good enough of a statement right there and it took her a lot to look as confident as possible when she said it. There was no lie in how handsome Matheus was but she was sure he knew that more than anyone.
“I was just about to..” her hands moved but her mind blanked at the thought of what she was actually planning on doing and it made her even feel more like a fool. “Enjoy the view.” if she could facepalm at her own words she would have. Rae was not often nervous but she blamed the bunny for making her act like this in front of him.

The Quidditch season was over, Gryffindor had done... really badly, despite his greatest efforts to save the game, but that didn't stop Matheus from practicing. Even if he wasn't going to carry on playing Quidditch after he graduated - no, he had much, much higher aspirations than that - it was a great way of keeping in shape, and... consequently, showing off the great big bulging muscles he had in the process, courtesy of the warm weather allowing him to wear a singlet top rather than a bulky long-sleeved uniform.
As Matheus flew back to the ground and dismounted his broom, he chucked Tommy - the partner he'd been practicing shooting quaffles with - a cheeky little wink as he saw him cast a furtive look towards the Quidditch stands. "Lacey waiting for you under there, is she? Have fun, wildcat," he called out, voice loud and booming across the field, fully intending for Lacey to hear his little bout of teasing. She was always there after he finished his one on ones with the Ravenclaw boy, and he'd heard, in explicit detail, why from Tommy. Apparently it involved a heavy snogging session, followed by sneaking into the empty locker rooms afterwards... and who was he to judge?
Moving towards the locker rooms, Matheus lifted his shirt to wipe off the little beads of sweat that had gathered on his forehead. Merlin, he'd taken a few quaffles to the chest today when Tommy had caught them from soaring into the goals, then thrown them back his way. There was sure to be some bruises there, and if he was lucky they'd be someone to lave and lap at them... and more, to make him feel better. A dopey smile crossed his face as he thought of all the people he could run into - Wagtail, Kallenbach... Zalewski - until all of a sudden he quite literally had someone colliding with him.
Looking down at the much shorter person, an easy grin slid onto his face as he recognised her. "Rae," he said, dropping his shirt back down albeit slowly so he was certain she got a bit of a show in the process. "I hope it's not me that was scaring you... but I'll help you feel better if it was." But then the Hufflepuff girl said something that had his thick, bushy brows climbing because 'enjoy the view'... really now? "Likewise. View's pretty nice from up here. Gorgeous, even."

In this moment of time there were so many things Rae could've done. She could've waved off the fear of bunnies like it wasn't there, which it wasn't. The jump scare was so much like a bad movie that even bunnies seemed vicious. Rae had thought of so many things in her brain that she barely heard what Matheus said. Was he always this tall? His hair being wet was actually very pretty and Rae started to regret even looking at him right now. She spotted a small glimpse of those abs, making her red flushed cheeks feel like they're the color of tomatoes.
"I eh well.." she looked back for a moment, the bunny gone off to go wherever bunnies go to and yet she had no way to explain what had happened, how she could fix it and what to do next. The irish girl cleared her throat and managed a smile of all things she felt. "And how would you make me feel better? Suggest a shower?" Cold one at this moment she thought to herself though she didn't finish her sentence with it.
Of course she could have thought that herself saying that she was going to enjoy the view rather than wallow in sadness over her lost future in Quidditch would make Matheus think she was talking about him. "Really? Are you trying to charm me mister?" she asked, trying to sound sassy and confident. "Because it's working." she said before even thinking about saying it. Dammit Rae. The brunette felt her hands grasping for her sleeves as she stood there looking at him. "How was practice? Did you go past your usual speed limit? I have no doubt you're very fast.." though he lost the cup.

The suggestion of a shower from Rae to make her feel better had Matheus letting out a laugh, his head shaking. "Wasn't what I had in mind exactly, but if you're up for one... I definitely wouldn't say no," he told her, eyes shamelessly raking over her form. Merlin's beard, she was bloody gorgeous even clothed and he wouldn't turn down the chance to take in every bare inch of her in the shower, if that's what she was offering. "I have it on good authority from several people I give the best, most manly of hugs. Strong arms, you see. They make all the difference on your hug quality." He was talking out of his arse but it sounded good, so he was going to go with it.
"If you're wondering if I'm trying to charm you, then maybe I'm not doing a good enough job," Matheus said with a shrug, taking a step further into Rae's space as she suddenly announced that his charms were, in fact, working. That's what he liked to hear. "Practice was fine. The broomstick I got from Wood -" Even though it was meant in the most innocent of ways (sure), just saying that made a dirty grin spread across Matheus' face, "- handles like a dream." Okay, maybe he was referring to more than just an innocent broomstick now, but he couldn't help but take the innuendo opportunity. "Plus, I ended up scoring more than I missed... speaking of scoring, what do you think my chances are here? A solid... 8 out 10?"
Rae was not unfamiliar with the reputation Matheus had and she couldn't blame him for having it because he was mighty delicious to look at and though Rae was not one to pursue people, she surely didn't mind being in the spot she is in now. Sure, she was blushing, feeling like an awkward dork on steroids but it seemed to go unnoticed by Matheus who's eyes looked her over with no sense of shame. At least her mentioning a shower as a joke got Matheus to laugh and gosh did he look pretty when he laughed.
"Maybe later, I don't have a reason to shower yet." she told him not shutting out the possibility because she could only imagine how nice he looked with water all over him. Dear lord did she hate her hormones right now. The brunette reached up to her own dark brown curly locks, spinning it around her finger because she had no idea what to do with her hands, her teeth sinking into her bottom lip. Her eyes shifted to look at his arms and she just wanted to reach out and touch them.
"They look quite.. manly yes." she admitted, losing the bit of doubt she had in herself. He was obviously interested into more than a conversation and didn't notice her awkwardness before so what was stopping her really? Nothing. Rae reached out for his arm and gave it a gentle squeeze. "I see.." she hummed with a chuckle. She knew he was just trying to flex, typical but she didn't mind. It worked. "Oh you are definitely doing a great job, trust me." she assured him and licked her lips that felt so dry for a second.
Rae arched her brow when he talked about the broom from Wood, that last name made for so many ironic comments that for once she managed to keep them for herself, her eyes rolling a bit but a smile on her face nonetheless. "I bet it does." she hummed though she really didn't need to know the details and prayed to the lords of the sky not to give them out. "Solid 8 for sure, you got to do a lot more though to get a higher grade out of me." she told Matheus with a wink. Oh what the hell, might as well go for it, she thought to herself. "Put the manly arms to use hmm? Maybe those lips too." she purred, batting her eyelashes.

"Is that an invitation for me to make you need to shower? Maybe get you all sweaty? Because I can do that," Matheus told Rae, his eyes dancing. There were a lot - and he meant a lot - of things he could think of doing with her to get her all panting and exerted, fantasies that were only encouraged by her playing with her dark locks of hair whilst nibbling on her bottom lip - shit, that was hot. It would be even hotter if she were doing those things to him instead - he definitely enjoyed a good hair tug and another person's teeth digging into his lip, probably more than the average person.
"You see? And do you like what you see?" Matheus asked, not so modest to admit that he loved a good compliment and letting his biceps flex under her grip. He wouldn't have objected if she squeezed a little harder, that was for sure. Reaching out, Matheus took some of Rae's deep brown hair between his very nimble fingers, tucking it behind her right ear. His fingers didn't quite leave, however, instead lingering against her skin. "'Cause I definitely like what I see, querida."
"I dunno, Rae. An 8 is pretty good, but let's see if I can Exceed Expectations," he said, before taking her up on her suggestion to put his arms and lips to use. Fingers slipping from her ear, Matheus's arms fell to circle Rae's waist instead, drawing her close as his face dipped, lips mere inches from hers. Then he gave her a daring wiggle of his eyebrows before dropping them to mouth at her neck instead. She hadn't said how to put them to use, to be completely fair, and there were much more inventive ways to use them than just kissing.

Being in Matheus's presence was quite exciting for Rae at least. She couldn't stop looking at his eyes that seemed to dare her to do anything she wouldn't do else. His jawline was to die for and she would gladly run her fingers through his curly locks because she can. Rae just responded to his comment about her needing a shower with a wink of her own, he should know what the wink meant. Her siblings often called her an open book when they looked into her eyes.
His accent made hers sound like shit, the irish girl who often had quite some pride in her own accent just seemed to want to die for his. Rae had no shame in admitting that she was in a total trance, she just felt like losing herself and let Matheus do what he does best. Rae knew she'd enjoy it, what else would she possibly want? "I am very sure I like what I see." she told him in response. Somehow he was boosting her ego as much as she was boosting his, his words were like music to her own ears.
"Oh I dare you to exceed those expectations." she told him, a sparkle in her own eyes and a smirk on her face when he put his lips against her neck. Rae's fingers just ran up his body, gripping his curls a bit. She got very controlling in these situations and was really looking forward to see how much Matheus was going to try to exceed.

The wink Matheus received from Rae was enough to have his deep brown eyes skimming over her figure because the thought of the Hufflepuff getting all sweaty because of.. several not-so-innocent activities, activities she seemed to be a huge fan of (as to be expected, she'd get to see him in all his natural beauty), was incredibly alluring.
"I could never turn down a dare," Matheus replied with a warm chuckle, before letting out a groan against Rae's neck as she curled her fingers through his hair, the pressure of them tugging slightly. If there was something Matheus enjoyed more in the world than anything, it was a good old hair pull. Dragging away from Rae for just a moment, his fingers danced along the hem of her shirt before he checked, "Can I?" It was somewhat of a policy of his to always check in, and that's fully what he intended to do to make sure that Rae consented. Enthusiastically, at that, hopefully even moaning out a few 'yeses' in the process.
Rae was in a whole different state of mind and when she let Matheus do this to her she was well aware that it would not mean a thing. She didn't need it to mean something because honestly she felt like it would kill her if it did. Rae would find someone she truly cared about someday but it surely would not be Matheus or even Sophie, unfortunately for them. The brunette gave Matheus a simple nod like he needed permission anyway. It was quite gentle, something she didn't expect.
----
Rae fixed her dress up a little and ran a hand through her dark locks. Well this was fun. Her chocolate colored eyes looked at Matheus as she stretched her body. "I feel like food, how about you?" she asked him with a smirk of her own. "Do I look alright?"
