With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The corner of Sebastian's eyes crinkled up as Viola spoke up about her holiday, using descriptions such as 'the bee's knees'. "It sounds like you had fun Viola." Not many others spoke up about their holiday, with a few rolled eyes and whispers spreading through the classroom. For a moment he thought that no one would speak up and answer his question until Agnes put her hand up. He gave her a nod of his head and listened to her explanation. He tried hard not to smile at her addition, "Yes, you're quite right. Five points to Gryffindor."
He turned his attention to Ollie, giving her a tight smile as he answered Cassidy's question. "An animagus' form is not determined by what they want to be- but instead on who they are; their personality and traits. Often a full-bodied patronus can indicate what someone's form may be, but that's very advanced NEWT level spells that you will learn much later. To become an animagi takes a very long time, and a complex understanding of transfiguration is needed...along with a lot of concentration." He glanced around the classroom, his eyes resting on Damien as he asked about how they were supposed to learn about animagi if they had to be registered. "Well, if you go look at those registries you will find that my name is down. So to answer Ollie's previous question, yes I am an animagus. So any questions you have about them can be answered from my first-hand experience."
Of course, Sebastian wanted to show off his form, it was something he took pride in however he didn't want to disrupt the flow of the class. He certainly couldn't answer questions while in his Wild Dog Form. "In fact, our very own Headmistress is an animagus, there is no shortage of us in this school. Education and skill go hand in hand." He checked for any more questions before continuing his lecture, "To become an animagus, one must study as it is something that is not hereditary like Metaphorphmagus. It can take many months to achieve, and even worse is if someone botches it; which then they are stuck as half beast half human. I would like to take the time to issue a warning now that if any of you attempt this without proper instruction, you may very well die or be stuck as some sort of mutation. This isn't a fun little party trick for you to learn. I urge you to wait until you have finished school and seek out a Transfuguration master if the idea appeals to you so much." That was the problem with being an educator, the education could very well be used to harm themselves.
Yeah, there was no way he would tell the professor, what he had been doing during his holidays. His parents had of course made a strict program to him that required his full commitment every single day. He was supposed to get ahead with his studies, practice both the violin and piano, and he needed to practice quidditch as well. His dad had even hired a personal trainer to work with Mark, which had been completely horrible, because the boy hated quidditch.
He sat beside Alexander Greenaway. A Ravenclaw he often relied to sit beside because they rarely spoke to one another. Alex was just as quiet as Mark, and it fitted him very well. He had no idea what he should talk with the other about anyway… After all, it was impossible that the two of them shared the same interests.
Mark found his quill and a notebook in which he began writing about animagi. While doing so, his fingers drummed aimlessly against the table – probably annoying the hell out of his Ravenclaw classmate, but that thought did not occur to Mark.
Ari had found animagus extremely interesting and she wondered how the hell it even happened. And when Professor Samuels spoke about how he was an animagus, the witch had asked. "What animal do you turn into, Professor?" she asked hoping to learn what it was because it sounded interesting.
The witch had also asked in regards to Damien's question about registries, "What happens to those who don't get registered? Don't they go to Azkaban or something." she asked even if it was kind of irrevalent but she wanted to know. Since there was nothing more truthful than the actual truth.
"Also when did you become one, professor?" she asked hoping she didn't step over her boundaries. But they were fascinating.
maybe it is all a test/'cause i feel like i'm the worst, so i always act like i'm the best

Mia-Rose had often thought about what it would be like to become an Animagus. To get an animal form, able to slip away into the wilderness with far less danger, or into secret places she wasn't meant to be without suspicion--there were so many things she would love about it. She wondered what her own form would be, what it would say about her, and she wondered about the professor as well. Would he show them? What would it tell them about him? She hoped he would at least transform once before the end of the hour.
She raised her hand, adding to the barrage of questions from the rest of the class. "What is the process like to become an Animagus?" she asked. "What kind of magic do you need to be able to do? And who teaches it?" She'd be at N.E.W.T. level next year, and she wanted to know what she needed to focus on. After all, she was fully expecting to pass her O.W.L.s with grades good enough to move on. If even Isobel could advance with an E in Transfiguration with her head stuffed full of fabric as it was, Mia-Rose was sure she could do even better.

While in class learning about Animagi, he knew it would be totally awesome if he could study that simple magic but he also knew that it was one thing to learn but another to achieve and be successful. He wouldn't mind actually learning about that simple little fact but he also knew it was going to be hard so he'd stick to what needed to be done for now and maybe go into that later in life. Jedrek waited for the Professor to tell them what he wanted from them. While waiting he wrote down what the professor had simply said.
Wait a minute… So, this was not going to be a practical lesson? They were just going to sit and talk about animagi? Not that Willow complained, but it sounded rather boring, and the boy put his wand away for now. He started taking notes, not wanting to participating much in the discussion. Instead, he sucked on the tip of his sugary quill acting as if he thought about something important he needed to add to his notes. Willow found transfiguration quite difficult to learn, but it was no problem writing down what the professor told them.
However, as much as he liked hearing about animagi, his mind drifted off to the falling snow outside. A song “Walking in the Air” was playing inside his head as he began dreaming about becoming so small and light that he could jump from one snowflake to another. Willow loved watching snow, and he felt drawn to each beautiful and unique flake that was passing by the window. It would be so wonderful if he was allowed to open to the outdoors and let some fresh air in.
