With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
The classroom was set, the desks were neat, and Sebastian's anxiousness was finally starting to ease. He'd spent quite a chunk of his time planning lessons over the holidays- or vague outlines at least. He wasn't pedantic enough to prepare speeches or anything, but there was quite a lot of content he wanted to cover and with the mixed classes he had to be sure that he didn't do anything too high level. It was his third year teaching now, and he was pretty sure he had a good grip on how to run the classes by now. He had planned for a small introduction to the year, knowing that everyone would be sick of getting to know each other in other courses. Today wasn't going to be much of a practical lesson, although he did have a spell that the class could research before they came back in a few days. "Don't be silly Seb." He told himself sternly.
Sebastian finally finished his assessment of the room, leaning against his dark mahogany desk and glancing upwards as the bell rang. He had taken breakfast in his own quarters that morning, so he was earlier to class than usual- not that it was too hard to travel from the Great Hall to the second-floor classroom. It was still good to start the year off on a good note. He was sure to feel awkward and bumbling if half the class was present before he was. As the first few early students walked through the open door, he gave them sunny smiles. Sebastian liked to think that he was a friendly teacher, he didn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable or irritated by his presence. This was were his students had to learn until they graduated, Seb didn't like the idea that someone would dread having to go to his classes. He'd been told by other teachers that his lessons could be a little dry and theory heavy, but that was the nature of the logical Transfiguration.
"Good morning class," He began, seeing that most of the students had found a seat, "How were your holidays? Did anyone do anything too interesting?" Sebastian stood up and approached the board. Usually, teachers just used their wand to write, but Seb liked a more hands-on approach. He picked up the chalk, writing the words 'ANIMAGUS' across the board. "We'll be starting off the year talking about Animagi, which some of you may or may not be familiar with. Can anyone give me a brief description of what they think an animagus is?"

Instead of walking normally into Transfiguration, Viola - as always - practically bounced in like she was a little bunny instead. She was keen as a bean to see Professor Samuels and his dreamboat face. It was such a cutie patootie one too. She just wanted to pinch his cheek and then kiss it better!
Taking a seat, Vi's elbows rested on the desk and she cupped her face in her hands, staring up at Professor McDreamy with attentive eyes. When he asked what they did the past holidays, her arm shot up immediately, excited to share her adventures. "Oh! Oh! My family went to the Louvre these holidays in France - that's a Muggle museum - and it was amazing, Professor. You would have loved it! It was the bees knees."
When the Professor started launching into the lesson, however, Vi's excitement immediately faded because... Animagi? As cute as the Professor was, that sounded boring and immediately Vi whipped out her quill and parchment, doodling handsome Liam Jordan's face on it. Perhaps she'd ask if she could paint him later! He had such magnificent features.

crew Transfiguration. What a boring goddamn class with a lacklustre Professor who seemed blander than plain goddamn rice with his nerdy little tie. If he were a student, Greyson would have snatched it off his neck (like he did all the other annoying students) and stomped it into the mud by now. What a loser.
As always, walking into the classroom, Greyson was much later than his peers and he flopped down next to Rosalia with a scowl on his face, arms folded across his chest. "Bet you a galleon that we'll want to avada kedavra ourselves by the end of this class," he told her, rolling his eyes as he caught the tail-end of Samuels talking about animagi... yep. Boring. "Told you."

eady for class! Elena was honestly pretty excited. It was her second year on the Quidditch team, she'd made it through without turning into a harpy-ish, and she hadn't had any reason to stick dung beetles in her normal tormentors robes. Over all, it was pretty positive!
She walked into the class among the rest of the students, taking a seat in the second row.so far, people looked familiar, but no one she immediately knew. She read the board, sighing a bit. She had nothing against the subject, but it seemed that that kind of magic was hardly something she'd get to do anything with.
She watched Rosa and Gray enterñ noteing he was cute, but remained quiet as she looked off out the window a moment, comfortably crossing her arms as everyone visited and the professor spoke.

osa practically rolled her eyes into the back of her head as she walked into the classroom, hooking her arm with her best friend as they entered, "And why would I take that bet? You'd feel that way about any class that didn't involve blowing shit up, " She remarked with a half smirk in her thick Italian accent as they entered in, looking at the board. Animagi. That seemed a bit elementary but she shrugged as he remarked, " Think of it this way, " She remarked as she found a seat sliding in, " When you inevitably fall asleep, you don't have to worry about failing a quiz, " Silver-linings and sarcasm. Who said the two couldn't exist harmoniously under the same guise?
"I don't know. You know what they say about the nerdy ones, " She quirked her brow as a bit of a mischievous smile came across her face, " Maybe that's why he's talking about animals. Maybe he's a beast in the sack, " Of course, this was all whispered joking as the girl leaned in to keep the conversation between the pair. One of the biggest troublemakers with a prefect was always a recipe for disaster, but she loved her pain in the ass best friend, and she would stick with him-- prefect or not.

Transfiguration would be fun! The girl was actually really excited about this class and she slipped her hands in her pockets. The redhead listened eagerly to what the professor had to say and barely heard whatever the others were talking about as she had a spot all by herself so far.
Rose just looked at her dreamy teacher and wondered if they actually would see an example.

Transfiguration was one of those classes that Aggy actually didn't mind all that much and as she made herself comfortable in the classroom, pulling out her parchment and ink, she looked up at the Professor as he spoke. At least he didn't make them introduce themselves, that was something. Instead, he asked how their holidays were. 'Yes, Professor, sodding brilliant. Loved spending time in a game of tug-o-war with my psychologist parents who both have very healthy views on relationships and are very qualified to milk people for money to give them advice they don't follow. How fantastic,' Aggy thought to herself with a roll of her eyes.
After the brief Q&A portion of their holidays, thankfully Professor Samuels moved his class along. When he asked the question of what an animagi was, Aggy watched with raised brows as nobody put their hand up... right. What a difficult question that was apparently. Raising her own, she answered, "Animagi are witches or wizards who can morph themselves into an animal at will... though I suppose some people don't need to morph themselves to be an animal." No, there were already some pretty big beasts in human form... a few in their class already, actually. No transformation required.

Junaid was glad he was back at Hogwarts. He wanted to forget about last summer as quickly as possible. Upon entering the school, he swore to himself not to return to the refugee center again. Where he’d go, he didn’t know but he had plenty of time to figure it out. He entered the classroom covered in plasters and his arm wrapped in a sling. He was grateful enough that the bandages were covered under his uniform. After class he’d have to step by the hospital wing. It was nothing that couldn’t be fixed with magic.
What had also changed compared to the last time that Jun was here was that he proudly wore a badge on his chest. When the owl arrived, he was grateful he could repay the school with his services. When he had to flee his country one and a half year ago, he wasn’t sure if he would be able to continue his studies. Hogwarts and its staff had done so much for him.
The last most notable change was possible his facial hair that finally started to become more than a few random hairs on his face. The Hufflepuff was becoming a man.
The new prefect sat down at a random spot after greeting his teacher. Transfiguration was an useful class. It was not his best class, but he was decent at it. He hoped to get good marks by the end of the year. When they were asked about their holidays, Junaid turned the man a polite smile, dodging the question mostly. “I am happy to be back at school, sir,” he replied instead.
He took out his quill and parchment and started taking notes. Junaid had still trouble with the language, so he would have to work hard. He listened to what the Gryffindor that answered the question had to say. Animagi was a beautiful type of magic.
Note: feel welcome to say Jun sat down next to you character.

Ollie was very interested in this class and not because of the spells or the many forms of transfiguration but with herself being a metamorphmagus she would want to know all there is to know about all of it.
Ollie had her notes ready and just listened to the professor and the various students. Agnes answered his question and she just wrote it all down.

Cassidy had always been curious about this subject and she was hopeful it sometime came to be. After Agnes answered his question she felt like she had nothing to add but she did have questions. A lot of them.
"Sir do we get to choose our own animals when we morph into them?" she asked and bit her lip. She was always fond of animals and she could imagine the thought of being one just for a day so she could escape humanity.

Felix wanted to just get through this. This class was probably one of the most useful ones but he sure hoped they were NOT going to play any games here. Being a 4th year didn't mean he wanted to be treated like a child either. The boy sighed as he didn't even glance at Rosa and her boyfriend and just sat in a corner by himself.
The professor asked questions about animagi and he already felt an essay coming.

a falling star fell from your heart.
Sitting in Transfiguration, Alex watched his Professor with weary, tired eyes. Even though he'd slept properly after the sorting ceremony last night, he was still exhausted - bone-exhausted, in fact, but it always felt like that for him. No matter how much he slept, he was tired all the time. Most days, he didn't want to even move out of bed, but he knew if he didn't show up to classes then Professors would start asking questions of 'why' and 'what's going on' and Alex didn't want that.
As Professor Samuels started talking about animagi and asked the class questions, Alex as per usual stayed quiet, slumping down a bit further in his seat. He hoped he wasn't called on, he didn't want attention drawn onto him, instead he aimed to fade into the background instead so nobody would notice him. It was for the better.

Gemini seated herself next to this very quiet but pretty boy and gave him her sweetest smile as the class started. The professor was talking about changing into animals and frowned for a moment. The brunette looked at the other boy and thought about asking him if he was okay, he seemed a bit sad.
"Hey, do you know much about animagi?" she whispered to him.
Suzie actually enjoyed transfiguration, it wasn't her best subject but she enjoyed the theory of it at least. Sure she'd rather be dancing but since she can't, this would be one of the few classes she enjoyed going to. She listened to the professor as she grabbed herself a seat and pulled out her quill and parchments for note taking. With a small sigh escaping her lips she quickly pulled her hair back into a ponytail to keep out of her face before she looked to the professor. They were learning about animagi? Huh..not a completely boring subject but not entirely exciting for her either but she knew it was necessary to learn.
Damien sat in the front of the classroom, so he could get be able to admire Professor Samuels. Who he thought was definitely attractive, and he thought it could be a fun change for him to sit in the front. He listened to him ask about all of their summers, and he shrugged. His was defintiely eventful, and he didn't feel like bringing it up in the classroom. But the next question, sparked Damien's interest, and it was about animagi.
He knew a decent amount about them, and he had saw a Gryffindor in his year volunteer. This made him sigh, and he thought he could add one. "An animagi has to also be registered by the Ministry, and how do you plan on teaching us about the animagi?" he asked with a smirk. Even if he knew his question was stupid, but he didn't know if they had access to an animagi due to how most were adults and had to be registered.
