With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Ryker was born to a wealthy happy family in Ireland, her father from muggle blood and her mother from wizarding blood. Maryse and Kennedy Young married for love but they also clashed many times. The little family was supposed to be happy but when Maryse felt that their children didn't matter to Kennedy, that their lives were meant for so much more, Kennedy didn't fight her on it. He just wanted a simple life with his garage and family but not being able to offer Maryse more, their marriage collapsed.
Over the years they had an on again off again relationship going on. They argued all the time but they seemed to make up nicely in their own way. Though the biggest influence on their relationship was not their arguments as much as their third child. The daughter they didn't expect they'd get. Their third child seemed to bring them closer together again, like she was the glue to fix their broken marriage. Due to all the fighting at home, Ryker had developed the need to show her parents that she was a big girl, that she could handle herself at all times.
It gave her the attitude of the bigger person in the room. She always had the need to take care of her brother, not as much as the need to take care of her sister because her parents did well on that. Their arguments caused for Ryker to mostly take care of herself and when she didn't she'd be mad at herself for not having control over the situation. The problem was though that she wasn't strong. Unlike her brother she didn't like to fight, she couldn't even fight off a bully if she wanted to.
Until that one day where she got into trouble with a bully, speaking her mind which the bully couldn't handle and her brother being the big hero he was, saved her from the bully. Though her pride didn't want that to happen ever again she whined, complained and bitched until her brother started helping her. They took self defense classes, he trained with her even when they weren't having classes and Ryker didn't only feel like she was mentally stronger than many others around her, she was also feeling physically stronger.
Ryker being self centered as she is, she didn't bother hiding how she felt about the people around her, she didn't bother being subtle about her knowledge and laid it all out in every class she went to, she did this when she was in middle school until she went to Hogwarts and continued said behavior there. Ryker just wanted to become better, stronger and maybe one day she'd prove to her parents that she is just as good, just as perfect as their little baby Mara.
Through her studies she met Ozzy Tyrell, it was a short relationship because the guy was a douchebag and though he was hot, she couldn't stand him either. Of course it broke her heart that she had to break up with the guy who seemed so powerful and sweet even when they were alone but Ozzy Tyrell didn't care that much about her because he moved onto the next girl so easily. Ryker promised to herself she'd focus on her studies more, flirt with people and having flings were mere entertainment when she had nothing else going on.
It was just a way to fill the void inside of her, the void that screamed in her mind that she needed someone to love her, that she needed someone other than her brother to care. Ryker loved her friends, loved her family but nothing she did seemed to return that love. Ryker saw that as a response for herself to be better, to work harder and become stronger. Her mother always told her only the strong women survived in this world so she never once allowed herself to be weak, she never once let herself slip up.
Ryker started practicing more difficult magic when she got older. She had allowed herself to fall in love with Morgan but she not once was weak even in front of her. Ryker had watched her family fall apart once her sister was turned into a werewolf, she had watched the world crumble because of the werewolf things getting quite out of hand. She had tried wandless magic to make herself stronger but the best thing she could was a coin bouncing and flipping in air with her hands rather than using her wand for it.
