With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Her eyes went over the potion in the cauldron before her before she looked at the students. She had hoped that maybe if they brewed this they would have some actual fun into doing this potion and with that this class. Ariella was quite the strict professor who rather inspired fear over kindness but when she was a student this potion was something that brought out the joy of making potions with her classmates. There were bowls of water on every single table and Ariella cleared her throat before silence fell.
"Welcome once more, today you will be doing a rather... fun potion." she said and frowned for a moment. "You will be making the hair coloring potion. As you all know there are quite some students here with colorful hair and though some use muggle products or are metamorphmagi.." she said and eyed the students in question. "It's not half as much fun to use this potion as it can literally change your hair into every single color you desire." she said and smiled.
"Can any of you tell me how to apply the color to the potion?"
place moonstone in cauldron and add water. Boil the water for 5 minutes. Add the belladonna and nettles, boil it for 5 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, stir, 20 full strokes clockwise followed by 20 full strokes counter-clockwise. Place the clear potion in a goblet and dip the very tip of wand in potion and incant, "Coloro!" while concentrating on the color you want the hair. Rinse hair in 200 mL of potion and wait 5 minutes for color change.
Another day, another potions class and Frankie was expecting to go about the same as the others. Once she had entered the classroom, taken her seat near the back she, looked at the bowl near her and then at the professor as the other students started chatting away. When the professor had cleared her throat, Frankie adjusted herself and bit her lip, listening in. When she heard what potion they'd be working on, she was actually a bit excited to see the outcome to some of her classmates. Of course some of them would refuse to use it, preferring to keep their original hair color.
Frankie of course dyed her hair often, keeping it up and never failing to make sure it was perfect. People had asked her about dying their hair but she didn't feel safe doing it on them.
"This is going to be fun..." she told her neighbor.
Charlie wasn't expecting today's class to be fun, but when it was said they'd be doing the hair coloring potion - it had her attention. The girl was sitting in the corner sketching away, planning on letting the professor lecture them the dangers of potions but when she heard the word hair and color, she stopped what she was doing and closed her sketchbook. This was worth paying attention too, unlike the other times.
She looked at her girlfriend with a sweet smile. "Your pops might kill you if you changed your hair..." she said softly, bumping her leg with hers.
Hair color potion? Is this professor serious? They were there to learn about serious potions, not fun ones. Or so that's what she believed this class should be doing. What good was this potion going to be for them in the real world? Nothing. That was the answer. A part of her wanted to get up and walk out but she wasn't going to fail this class over one stupid lesson so she just sat there, giving the professor an disapproved look.
"This is a stupid lesson..." she grumbled under her breath, glancing at her neighbor at the table.
There was a giggle from the front of the classroom when Parker heard what they'd be doing that day. She was always on her best behavior for this class, not wanting her sister to fail her. At least her sister had some fun with potions rather than being serious all the time, something that would make their father proud. Perhaps she'd write to her father later about this lesson, tell him that her sister indeed had a soul. Parker knew the shit Ariella got from some of her students, sometimes it caused Parker want to curse them into next week.
The girl leaned on her table while eyeing her squad nearby with a grin.
"I don't have much hair..." Casey had stated when she looked at her best friend with a smile. It was her first smile in matter of weeks and she meant it. The girl knew she should get over the death of her father, he wasn't there to make her life a living hell anymore. The last letter, the one she received after he died was heartfelt, it had helped with her emotions and become more like herself slowly. This class was probably needed, something fun and to let her enjoy herself a bit.

Kitty nodded rapidly, sending her (currently) blonde hair flying in all directions. Oh yes, it was indeed going to be fun, and a lot of it. Though she was perfectly happy with her hair and had never felt particularly inspired to try out another colour, she thought it would be silly of her to waste an opportunity like this to give something else a go. Maybe red; she'd always liked the idea of being a redhead. Blue and more exotic colours, she wasn't so sure about; she thought she might look silly, but then they looked so good on other people... Too many options, that was the problem, and indecision was one of her worst failings. She turned back to Frankie, putting her head on one side and asking seriously, "What colour do you think would go with my face?"
This potions class was supposed to make things go better. Cassidy was going to forget about the Gryffindor girl who kissed her, she was going to forget about romance being stupid and kissing being something to avoid for the rest of her lifetime. Cassidy ran a hand through her golden locks as she was seated beside Casey, her eyes on her work and best friend only. She didn't even dare to look away from Casey. The professor explained the lesson and Cassidy was quite confused since she was usually not the kindest woman she's met.
"M-Mine?" her eyes widened a bit as she turned to Casey who said they should color her hair. Why would she want to change her hair? "But we can put it back to normal right? I like my hair." A blush on her cheeks appeared and her eyes were back on the cauldron.
Potions! Gemini was excited and she was basically bouncing in her seat beside her girlfriend. Every class she spent with Charlie was a good one in her opinion. The girl listened to the professor and gasped when she said the hair color potion was going to be made. She really wanted to do that! "Oh oh Charlie no he doesn't need to know! You can make mine pink like yours! Maybe just a tiny lock of it.." she said played with a lock of her own long curly hair before looking at her girlfriend.

So far no one answered her question and Ariella had to admit she was quite disappointed. The woman let out a sigh and just waited for them to answer her question so they could move on to brewing the actual potion. She watched students light up, some looked as grumpy and annoyed as ever and though she felt that mood herself, she really hoped this would lift the mood not put it down even more. Still, she wasn't going to mess with them and just waited for the students to answer.
"We won't get started until you guys answer my question." she said and spun her wand around between her fingers. "What spell do we use to apply the color?" she repeated knowing very well that excitement must have taken over.
Oh bunny slippers. Gemini had no idea what the question was and when the professor said they weren't going to brew until it was answered the girl looked at her girlfriend with a blush. She didn't know the answer and she didn't know the spell either she was quite sure of that. Gemini grabbed her book and started skimming it for answers, oh golly gosh this wasn't going to go well! The girl eyed Charlie and bit her lip. "I don't know the answer.. do you?" she asked her and eyed her book. "I can't find it.." she muttered.
Felix didn't dislike potions, he thought they were rather useful but he was still quite unsure what today's lesson was going to contribute to his exams. Sure the potion was much needed material to cover but that didn't mean he wouldn't like to do something different. With a frown he listened to the professor and the many students rambling on how much they love doing each other's hair.
Great a class for girls. The boy let out a sigh and just sat back, waiting for this to end.
