With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Ariella had prepared today's class for the little brats that were the first and second years. These kids were really just that, kids. They had barely any knowledge of potions and Ariella felt like she had to force feed it to them for them to understand the importance of it all. With a frown she waited for them all to enter and when they did the door closed once more with a wave of her hand. Ariella looked at each and every one of them before getting up and approaching a cauldron presented in the middle. Inside of it was a potion she brew for this very class not too long ago.
"Welcome once again." she told them and eyed every single kid. "Today you will be learning to brew the forgetfulness potion." Ariella said calmly, her hands folded together. "Now who can tell me the purpose of this potion?" she asked them and waited for the kids to answer. She knew it would turn out ridiculous but what did she expect? These were the ones who needed to be molded the most.
Add 2 drops of Lethe River Water to your cauldron. Gently heat for 20 seconds. Add 2 Valerian sprigs to your cauldron. Stir 3 times, clockwise. Wave your wand and leave to brew and return in 45-60 minutes. Add 2 measures of standard ingredient to your mortar along with the 4 berries and crush it into a powder mixture. Add the mixture to your cauldron stir it 5 times counterclockwise. Wave your wand to complete your potion.
Mia had entered the class, expecting the usual cold attitude from the professor. The Ravenclaw had taken her seat near the front of the class, smiling as she did so because she was prepared. Sure, the professor might have a stick up her ass half the time, but she wasn't going to fool around like other students in this class. Her eyes darted toward Ezra with a small grit of her teeth before she folded her hands in front of her.
The girl tilted her head a bit to the side, putting up her hand to answer the question to the professors question about the potion they were to do that day.
"I don't know why anyone would want to use it with a purpose, but it causes memory loss for the drinker." she said, smiling a bit and looked down at her book for a moment.
Ezra was seated in the back next to his brother, a toothpick in his mouth and arms crossed as he waited for the professor to get on with lesson of the day. He didn't enjoy this class, didn't enjoy how cold the Dungeons were and being in a room with a professor who seems to hate them or knew how to smile, brought the room down in temperature. He had sent his brother a look, knowing his brother would enjoy this class. It was like science, right?
"Do you reckon she'd notice if I sneak out?" he whispered as the Ravenclaw girl answered the question the professor had asked them.
Edmund didn't particularly dislike potions but the desire to do something other than potions was there because he often saw himself above everyone else, including whoever was teaching him. The young male was seated beside his twin brother like usual and eyed the ingredients on the blackboard before grabbing them from his bag, his mind not bothering with much else at the moment. That was until his brother asked about sneaking out and it made Edmund roll his light eyes like usual.
"No Ezra, I don't think she'd notice a boy with hair whiter than her own teeth probably sneak out of her classroom which the door is made out of very thick wood and most of all closed." he said looking at his brother wondering if he fell on his head. The boy shook his head and sighed. "Ugh Ezra do you have mistletoe berries? I must have used up mine last time." he said and turned to his brother before looking around to see if anyone else might spare him some of Ezra didn't have any. He spotted Katrin and shot her a smile and a small wave before looking at his brother.
"Do you know if she might have some if you don't?"

Ariella thought this was quite an easy lesson for these kids but as the year came to a standstill, an end of sorts, she really needed them to know some more advanced stuff as well. The woman ran a hand through her dark curls and eyed the little Ravenclaw who answered her question. "Good job miss Jones. That is five points to Ravenclaw." she said and eyed all the kids. "Now you will pair up in teams of two, if there are any left join up an existing team and work together on this potion." she said and handed out parchment to each kid for notes they could write down.
"After this class I'd like you to write me an essay about the potions you have brewed this year, which one you think is most useful and which one you think is not." she said and grabbed an hourglass. "You have until the hourglass runs out of sand to do this, it should be more than enough time. The one who gets it done first, gets a price." she said and held out a small vial. "Hair coloring potion perfectly brewed by the older students. Together we can discuss it's color." she said and then motioned for them to get started.
Declan didn't hate potions but he wasn't as big as a fan as his sister was. Sitting next to his sister was like sitting next to a fangirl about to pee herself. Then again if she were to pee herself he would definitely clean it up before anyone noticed, he loved Katrin. The boy turned his attention to Ariella who seemed quite.. agitated like usual but she also seemed to try to make this class worth their time? Since when did she care about making kids happy? Did she go soft?
"I think she's gone soft.." he whispered to Katrin before noticing Edmund looking at her. "Your boyfriend wants your attention. Maybe you should team up with him." he teased and just sat there happily with his own cauldron as he grabbed his notes. Time to brew this potion and hopefully not let down another person in his family. Declan seemed to be quite good at that these days. His eyes were sliding over to Katrin though, wondering what she was going to do about this.

Rose didn't dislike potions but she surely didn't really want to be here when she could do so much more fun things instead. Sure the classes were pretty cool but she was being taught in a drafty dungeon that made her skin crawl and every little inch of her wanted to go out in the sun. The redhead was seated in the classroom and didn't pay much attention to the other students as she unpacked and got her materials ready. The redhead listened to the professor and wrote down today's lesson.
It was then that the professor told them all to pair up and Rose didn't know who would want to work with her.
Another class, another few hours where Scorpius had to study for his finals. These tests were hard but he was going to be a third year soon and he would have more classes coming up. There were so many things he wanted to learn, new things he wanted to do but right now he had to focus on potions, the class he wasn't so good at as he wanted to be. The professor was a little mean and he didn't want her to get mad at him for screwing up but when she told students to pair up and work together, Scorpius just looked around.
"Anybody want to work with me?" he asked with a feeling of something stuck in his throat.
