With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Negative Traits: insecure, flippant, ignores reality when it doesn’t suit her wants or needs
Quirks and Habits: -Dani doesn’t really know what comfortable silence is. As someone who's spent her whole life being around people pretty much constantly, she's used to having others around. She always tries to fill silence with talking, and when she's nervous or uncomfortable, she talks even more. -She is very much a dog person, and really wishes she could have a small and cute dog to bring to Hogwarts, but sadly the list only provides for “owls, cats, or toads.” -Dancing is her favorite hobby, and she still sort of dreams of being a professional dancer someday even though she hasn't been in classes in a while. She still practices on her own when she can. -She's often afraid that she might be the least intelligent of the triplets, or at least the least book-smart, and tries to make up for it by attempting to be the “coolest,” whatever that might be.
Likes: dancing/ballet, saxophones, cities, vinyl records, retro stuff, fluffy dogs, boys with ponytails, boys with tattoos, sweaters with really long sleeves that you can cover your hands with
Dislikes: her brother’s roommates, Welsh farm jokes, aggressive large creatures, blizzards, seaweed (the edible kind, doesn’t like eating it)
Boggart: a Welsh Green dragon
Mirror of Erised: standing in Times Square
Patronus: hedgehog
history
As far as Danica was aware, there was only one famous member of the Llewellyn family, and he’d been eaten by a chimera long before she and her siblings were born. Instead, the alive Llewellyns were known for something not quite so interesting: a mooncalf herd from which they collected fertilizer. With the rising presence of werewolves in the country, not only was it gross, it was also dangerous. If only there would be another Quidditch star in the family, maybe things would change!
But Danica, while she loved Quidditch (she cheered for the Holyhead Harpies), didn’t seem like she was going to be that person. No, she was into dance, and if she’d been a Muggle, she might have been the kind of little girl who had endless costumes, shoes, and shaky phone videos of performances. She’d have continued going to classes, maybe done some competitions...
Instead, she was a witch, and she went to Hogwarts. She was the first of the triplets to go to the Sorting Hat, and right after “Linwood, Mia-Rose” went to Slytherin, she was sorted into Hufflepuff. She hadn’t been sure if she hoped for Josh and Lydia to be with her or for them to finally get to be their own separate people, but she didn’t have long to think about it, as both of them went over to the yellow-and-black table as well.
Perhaps it was for the best, because Dani always spent long hours chatting with her siblings in the Hufflepuff basement, invading Josh’s dorm on the regular. It was there, though, that she developed a distaste for her brother’s roommates: Gabe had an attitude she couldn’t stand, and Junaid, when he transferred to the school, seemed to flip out at the idea of girls sitting on his bed, which she really wishes he would get over. She’s been looking at her own roommate, Olivia, with weirder and weirder glances as she hangs out with Gabe even more.
Care of Magical Creatures had finished for the day, and Mia-Rose had set her bag on a stump to pack away her wand and pull out a sweater. The spring day had been warm enough while the sun was out, but as clouds had covered the sky, she was starting to shiver without it. She tugged it over her head, feeling the crackle of static as her curly red hair rubbed against the wool. Frustrated, she rummaged in her bag for a hair tie, pulling it up into a bun before it could get even frizzier.
And then she heard a noise from the forest. She cocked her head to the side, freezing in place to make sure the sound was what she thought it was--yes, definitely some sort of animal, a small one if she had anything to say about it. And people thought the forest was terrifying! No, there was some sort of young creature in pain out there, not even that far from the forest's edge if she could hear it from here, and Mia-Rose, thinking about her little cat back in the castle, couldn't just leave without seeing what was going on.
She glanced around at her other classmates who were leaving--was anyone else paying as much attention, or was she, as always, the only one who paid attention to the world around her? And then she glanced back at Almir--yes, his back was turned, so she could slip into the forest now, if she was quick about it. She made her way over to the trees, making sure there were no prefects around who would tell on her for it.
