With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Cassidy had felt like she had been locking herself up in the tower after the spin the bottle game. The young girl needed to stop pondering about it. It was just a silly game she never should've attended, lesson learned. With a yawn she plopped down on the lawns and grabbed a shirt she was supposed to fix. She had been helping fix people's clothes and mostly because she was too nice to say no.
Cassidy hummed as she started working on the shirt and wondered what her friends were doing. Cassidy didn't have many friends, she could basically count the lot of them on one hand. It was odd compared to so many kids who had friends from all over the school and yet here she was just close with a few people in her life because she was terrified of others.
With a squeal she noticed a shadow near her and looked up with big blue eyes. "Oh Rodrik! You scared me." she admitted and tried to calm her breathing down. "How are you?"

Screw all of their stupid games, screw all of it. All it ever does is cause distress, plus it's vulgar as hell anyways, and it isn't the proper way to do things!
For the last few days Rodrik was walking around like a storm cloud, shoulders pulled up, eyes narrowed, barely even greeting any of his friends. He hadn't spoken a single word to Emil on their patrol the previous evening, using a hurting throat as an excuse to keep silent.
He was ruminating on the nature of modern romance, if whatever happened between his schoolmates could even be called that. No, making out with people whose name you barely knew, that wasn't romance? That was just... base.
That day Rodrik had been burying his nose into one of his favorite adventure novels about a knight and a damsel in distress, reminding himself how true romance looked like. It was courtship, it was admiring from afar, it was getting the approval of both the damsel in question, and her father, not... Not this.
And the fact that Lyubov didn't want anything to do with that way of romance -- the right way, as far as Rodrik was concerned at this very moment -- it puzzled the young man. How was Matheus' hard-on better than tender romance?
Book in hand, Rodrik walked across the lawns, wanting to find a quaint spot by the lake where to enjoy his book. Alas, faith had different plans in store for him. Per chance he ran into another student (of course, it wasn't really reasonable to want everyone to hole up in the castle around spring, but he'd sure as hell wished they would).
It was Cassidy, not exactly in his direct circle of friends, but Rodrik got around, so the two were on a first name basis.
"I've been better," he answered, sighing and closing his book, one finger still stuck between the pages to hold it as a bookmark, "And you? How's exam prep going?"
Cassidy didn't have many actual friends but Rodrik was nice to her even when a lot of people were not. The people taking advantage of her kindness and shyness was not quite the rare breed so having someone being kind to her even when they weren't close was like a breath of fresh air to Cassidy at least. The girl could see he was quite in a mood though and she was a little afraid to ask what it was about. The thought of him getting upset at her was scary and she was trying to think of ways to approach the subject.
"What's wrong? Did someone upset you?" she asked and cocked her head a bit. "I've been better also, I couldn't really focus on my studies lately." the subjects either traumatized her or she got upset by people. Sometimes she wondered if she was ever going to make it in this school, this world. What if she would just resort to becoming a muggle? Would that be a crime? Would that upset her friends? It just felt easier to belong in a world where magic and these discussions were not the issue any longer.
"You can sit with me if you want, I'm here if you want to talk about anything." she offered kindly and bit her lip. She put the shirt in her bag along with her needles and thread and patted on the grass beside her.

"I guess I'm upset, yeah," Rodrik nodded, opening the book and folding in a corner to mark it, before trying to shove the old paperback into the rather shallow pocket of his leather jacket.
"It's the spin the bottle game Delgado hosted for the older years," he grumbled, deciding to accept Cassidy's offer to chat. He didn't want to talk to Zoe about it, knowing that she was exactly the kind of person he was upset with -- the kind that drags girls into a broom closet for a good time. He couldn't talk to Grace about it, not after she'd seemed to smitten with Aiden Valentino at the party -- and Rodrik had been convinced that Grace would understand him, and agree with him! Emil had been eager to kiss Wolfgang too, and he sure as hell wouldn't talk to Lyubov... Cassidy seemed like a good choice.
She patted the grass next to her, urging him to sit down, but it was still just March, and a rather cool one. He peeled off his leather jacket, revealing an old, worn out gray sweater, and placed the jacket down on the earth.
"Don't feel like either of us should freeze our asses off," he said, sitting on a corner of his jacket, leaving most of it free for Cassidy.
"I don't understand it. Don't understand people my age. What's so great about sleeping around and kissing anyone you meet?" Yes, he'd slept with Wolfgang and Isobel, and as much as it had felt good at that moment, when he was drunk out of his mind, afterwards he'd felt awful and dirty, and had proceeded to shower for about an hour until one of his housemates had begun complaining about Rodrik taking so much time.
Cassidy wanted her friends to be okay because even when she tried she wasn't the most comforting person in the world herself. She really tried but the furthest she came was a simple hug and saying that things will be okay while trying to believe herself. Cassidy was quite insecure about that but she would keep trying because her friends mean a lot to her. When Rodrik did say he was upset she already felt slight panic on the inside because gosh she couldn't comfort a cat into wanting to snuggle her so how was she going to comfort an older boy?
"S-spin the bottle?" she asked and frowned. She remembered the game she went to, the horror haunted her to this day. Cassidy looked at him placing the jacket down and shifted to sit on a part of it with him. "Thank you." she said and frowned a bit. "You went to a spin the bottle too then?" she asked before he said how he didn't understand people wanting to kiss each other at his age. "It's not just your age.." she told him and bit her lip as she did so.
"I was told to go to and when I got there.. there were people kissing normally and then not so normal.." she remembered being dipped and freaking out. "It was horrible.." she added and eyed her eyes. "I didn't like it."
