With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!
Ryker created this club because something had to be done without violence taking over but also because there were more people in this school who loved a lost one due to wolves. The brunette had drinks and snacks on a table to make people a bit more comfortable and let out a small sigh. She was so nervous for once, the usual perfectly refined girl was nervous because werewolves were a sore subject to lots of people. The officer the ministry sent was seated in the back, silent with a notepad.
The girl watched the others walk in and once they were in she cleared her throat, her fingers playing with the coin she carried with her to calm her down. "Welcome to the first meeting... In case some of you don't know me.." which was very unlikely she thought to herself. "I'm Ryker Young.." she said, her posture regained within seconds of saying her own name. She found power in her name, in herself.
"This club isn't meant to start wars, we are not here to fight whoever needs to be fought. This is just for support not for just us, but for everyone who needs it. Whether our family members are wolves.." she eyed Elijah and Morgan. "Or because we simply want to help those in need." she knew that must be one of the reasons why Grace was here with her brother.
"How about we just talk about why we're here.. and what you expect out of this." she said softly and nodded. "I'll start." The coin spinning in her palm, almost enchanting herself. "I'm here because my baby sister was bitten a while back. I've visited her and honestly she needs her education back, she needs her life back. So that is why I am here, why I started this." she said and frowned. "For Mara's rights."
For a moment when he heard about this club, Dio had hope. This faded when the Gryffindor opened her mouth. The Slytherin groaned and shook his head at her words. He played with a knife in his hand but let her finish. His mother told him it was rude to just interrupt people. When she was done bullshitting, he got up and walked over to her. “I’m sorry but how do you think us sitting here talking will solve anything? We’re not making their lives better by doing this. We’re only making ourselves feel better with pretending we’re doing something,” he turned to the group as he said this. While he spoke, he balanced the knife on one finger.
“I thought this was going to be the next Dumbledore's army. A group of students raging against the messed up system. Alas it seems this is only your weekly hi how are you feeling today. I’m sorry your life sucks and your family members are treated like utter garbage, but you’re not the only one- therapy session,” he sighed and shook his head. This was a bloody waste of time. How could he ever have thought the little spoiled children were actually willing to fight.
He turned back to Ryker and asked her in a sympathetic tone which was really rare for Dio Greyback. “You think you’ll get your sister’s education back by talking about our feelings? And even then, what? Even with education, nobody will bloody hire her for what she is. They don’t care about people like her. Heck, they don’t even care about people like you and me.” He turned back to the group while standing next to Ryker. “I can’t be the only one who thinks this. You can call me whatever you want, blame my surname for believing this. Call me crazy if you want. But I hope deep down you realize that something must be done.”

Nadya had been so hopeful for the club's first meeting, but seeing the Ministry's officer seated right in the room where it was taking place turned her mood immediately sour. She could trust Ryker to be on the right side of things, sure, but with that bitch around, the one whose very presence made Nadya want to set the whole castle on fire, she wasn't sure why she even bothered. Like she would if she were here for class again, she sat in the back of the room, crossing her legs and scowling. More and more she thought about what would have happened if she had run away that night instead of being found by the Divination professor. Would she have been free, would she have been able to do more than stare daggers into the Ministry woman's head?
Then Dio Greyback spoke up, and Nadya's blue eyes flicked to him in admiration, the hint of a smile appearing on her face as he spoke the words that she just knew more than one person must be thinking. And who said only Gryffindors were brave? Here they were proving just the opposite. Bravery was doing what needed to be done, not simply making a show of chivalry. Nadya had seen enough false shows to know it was all a joke. The very fountain she was forced to look at every time she simply wanted to visit her father at work...
"He's right, Ryker," she called out, her voice steady and clear thanks to the courage the boy had given her. "Talking does nothing. The only way to make a change is some sort of action. You have to get in people's way, make them see just how much trouble they're causing." She looked around the room, trying to gauge the group's reaction. "And if I get detention for saying the truth?" she said, her eyes landing on the officer with a disdainful look. "I'll take it in the Forbidden Forest. My kind belong there too."

This was a meeting Alexander would not be late for. He'd been looking forward to talking to people with similar mindsets to him. Arriving with Dio, he had thought it would be less than the shitshow that had already started. He stood up, his hands held up defensively. "Come one guys, give Young a break. What do you propose we do, huh? Start a riot like the attackers at the Winter Ball? C'mon. Dio, Kareva. Talking achieves things. Why not discuss solutions that we as a student body could implement? Proposals to write to give to the administration? Getting angry at Young for just wanting to comfort each other is not on. Jesus Christ people. This is out first meeting, why not get to know each other a little? Completely unreasonable, both of you." He was shocked with the response such a simple introduction had caused.
He shook his head, giving Dio an incredulous look. He knew Dio was not always the most reasonable when it came to werewolf rights, but it was a similarity that the two shared. He felt so guilty that one of his friends had spoken up like that, and his eyes darted towards the Ministry Liason who looked quite intruiged. That surely wasn't a good thing, the werewolf support club wouldn't survive with this sort of upheaval. "I'm Alexander McCarthy, my older brother was turned into a werewolf in 2017. He made me realise how wrought the wizarding relationship with werewolves is. How much we misunderstand, even now within this group. How many of us have differing opinion as to whether being a werewolf is a disease or just 'something that happens once a month'?" He waved his hands around as if they would prove his point further. He wasn't quite sure if he wanted to stay here, if this is how the rest of the group would act. He would have no part in a rebellion group, full of reckless go-getters, especially with Dio as the starter of it all. He just hoped he'd find others who understood where Alex came from. He wanted to help, but never with violence. There was already enough of that going around. Elijah had arrived early, wanting to help set the room up for the first meeting and when he had watched people walk in, there was a smile. This was important to all of them, and he wanted to make sure the first meeting went smoothly instead of people attacking others. If it went to hell, he would happily throw the ones causing trouble out of the classroom. He had helped himself to some chips, and a cup of punch as the meeting had begun, hearing his sister’s words followed by a few other’s. He had turned around, making a face as Dio and Nadya spoke ill. ”If you don’t like what we do here, there’s the door.” he gestured toward the door.
There was a smile from the Gryffindor beater when the Ravenclaw spoke up, lecturing the other two and he nodded. ”We’re all here for a reason. We want to make a difference. We all want this place to be a safe environment for all.” he said, and looked toward his sister with a small smile. ”Ryker and I have a little sister who was turned over this past summer along with a friend, Peter Tyrell. They're only fifteen years old, their future turn away from them.“ he said, letting out a tiny sigh.

A werewolf support club meeting was something that, quite frankly, Hope didn't understand the need for. She understood that a lot of the students here had relatives who were turned into werewolves, however no amount of talking was going to bring them back to 'normal.' They were dangerous creatures now, absolutely terrifying on the full moon and a good majority were monsters even in their human form, primarily ones who were members of The Trossachs. She could emphasise with how difficult it was to let a loved one go, she had lost plenty due to death and carnage herself, but... in the long run, wasn't it the best option instead of putting yourself through the heart ache of watching family members murder others?
In the back of the classroom, Hope sat with a notepad of parchment and a quill, intent on staying silent unless things got out of hand. She wasn't here to enrage anyone, to rile them up, but instead to note the students who could possibly initiate another attack on behalf of werewolf relatives. She was there to write down the possible whereabouts of werewolves so the ministry could launch an investigation on whether they were obeying the legislation that had been put in place to minimise the harm and the contact werewolves could have with the general public.
One student in particular caught her eye as they spoke up. As soon as she was going to Hogwarts... she'd been warned that a student by the last name Greyback was in attendance, she'd been told to keep a handle on herself - something that she'd ignored because she was a grown woman, fully in control of her own emotions, and this offspring of Fenrir? He hadn't been the one to massacre her family and despite the way he was balancing that knife, she had no reason to believe that he was as dangerous as his father.
As Dio and... Ivan's daughter, Nadezhda, perhaps? Spoke about taken action against the ministry, Hope couldn't help but wonder... what sort of action they were planning that they thought would effect them? But then she was addressed and calmly, she placed down her quill. "I don't have the power to give anybody detention," she said, before noting the 'my kind' jab. Definitely Ivan's daughter then, who seemed under the misguided notion that she was here to punish people when in fact, she was intent on keeping them safe instead. "You're not going to get into trouble for speaking your mind." They wouldn't even get in trouble for speaking to werewolves, just get their name jotted down as one to watch.
With her piece over and done with, Hope returned to her task at hand, listening as she picked her quill up once more.
This was to be expected. People wanted to take action and don't get Ryker wrong, a part of her did too. Though she was not one to reach for violence rather than try to come with a civil solution. Ryker sighed as Dio spoke up first, of course he wanted to take action. Ryker watched him with a small frown and cocked her head to the side a bit. "We shouldn't rage at all because doing exactly that is what put a couple of kids in a mental ward in the first place." she reminded him and shook her head. "Look I get you two are frustrated but this isn't a therapy session and looking for sympathy." she said and watched Dio come closer. Dude.. personal space.
"I don't want sympathy for her. I will find a way to get all of them back." she told Dio and shook her head. "But violence is not the answer.." she added and turned her attention to Nadya, she had a point too but god this was no way to start this. "I have ideas to take action but honestly we're with what? Six people?" she looked around and sighed. Alexander then spoke up and she was grateful for that.
"Thank you Alex.." she said and nodded as he introduced himself and explained his situation. "I made this club to create a safe space. A place where we share our feelings, or opinions and turn them into actions that does not involve pissing people off." she said and sighed slipping the coin in her pocket. The officer spoke as to clarify why she was here and honestly Ryker wished she wasn't.
"In my opinion werewolves are just people. Sure they change during the full moon but why let that define them?" she shook her head. "Mara is such a bright girl, adventurous too and loves to go into the wilderness and hike, see the world. Learn languages.." she looked at the officer. "She is just a girl.." she added and frowned. "If we cause riots, violence or even hurt this woman right here because she works for the ministry... just to make our point? we are not going to be better than any other person hurting people.. we won't make it better for the wolves." Ryker needed a drink and reached for a cup.
"I was hoping we could try a peaceful march... like protesters all over the world do." she said and frowned. "Make people see that werewolves aren't beasts, they're humans too." she sighed. Ryker reached out for her brother for a moment. "I want your ideas, opinions on all of this too. I hope we can manage to work together and make a change.." She didn't know what else to say right now. This was never the plan.. to cause riots or violence. She did this to bring her sister home, bring other people's siblings home. Ryker headed over to the blackboard and charmed a crayon to write down words like march as well as Alex's ideas.
Was having a werewolf club going to help them? Morgan knew her girlfriend worked hard to get this club going, to start plotting down ideas. But would the ministry listen to them? Morgan didn’t trust the ministry for many reasons, and the whole ordeal with the werewolves weren’t the only reason. They had been taking their sweet time in investigating the deaths of her parents, and she was angry. But was Morgan going to take it out on someone? No. She was going to be as patient as she can be even though she was starting to lose her patience rather fast these days. The nightmares had returned.
The female had been sitting in a chair, eating out of a bowl of popcorn as she listened to the others talk, and try to knock Ryker down with their words. Her eyebrows had raised for a moment as she popped more popcorn into her mouth as she watched silently. Ryker can handle herself, and last thing Morgan needed was for this lady in the back to write her up for wanting to slug a couple of students.
”But, Ry, some werewolves are beasts.” she had stated as she handed the bowl of popcorn she had to her neighbor. ”Especially the one that pretty much took my brother away from his family for example.” she said, looking at the other’s in the room.
”I don’t know what we can do. I mean, I would love to have Dallas, Artemis and Mara back under this roof.” she said, gesturing toward the ceiling. ”But what if, for the love of God, that one of these wolves just randomly repeat what had happened a few years ago?”
She didn't want to talk her girlfriend down, but Morgan was at a loss here.

Hot anger flashed through Nadya's body as Elijah told her to get out if she didn't like it. Who was he to tell her what she should believe? Had he ever done anything useful? Well, she didn't like whatever was going on here, and with a huff, she started to get up from her seat. "Anyone who actually understands can speak with me later," she grumbled under her breath, just loud enough for everyone in the room to hear if they were listening. With quiet but long and purposeful strides, she headed for the door, ready to abandon these useless idiots and their handler.
Just as she put her hand on the handle of the door, about to leave, she heard Ryker speak once more, offering the possibility of a protest. Why didn't you say that in the first place, before we all thought you just wanted to have a pity party? Nadya thought. But she managed to hold her tongue on that. She didn't mind Ryker, even if her twin was getting under her skin; no need to upset her if there was the possibility of something real happening. "Ah, there we are, that's what I was trying to say," she said, turning around. "A protest is an action, is it not? I'm for that." Slowly, she made her way back to her seat.
But she was right back to rolling her eyes when Morgan Reid spoke. "And you think something's wrong with being a beast? Almir's part-giant, he could rip you limb from limb if he felt like it. Alana Valentino? She's a vampire, she could drain all the blood out of your veins with no problem. And me? I don't look scary, but perhaps you haven't seen me with scales and feathers quite yet. But none of us have hurt a soul, have we? Why do you think werewolves are any different?"
Dio’s face lit up when an older Slytherin agreed with him. Well what would you know? Perhaps there was still hope for wizardkind. He nodded into her direction, showing her he’d back her up if anyone would start verbally attacking them. Only a moment later his own best friend disagreed, and the disappointment could be read of Dio’s face. He walked over to Alexander and put a hand on his shoulder. “Mate, you’re really leaving me hanging here,” he sighed and shook his head. More people started going against the two Slytherins. “I’m not angry at Young, I just don’t agree with her. I think we should be civil enough to hold a debate without showing the door to people who want a different approach,” he looked at the male Young when he said that last bit. It was kind of ironic that Dio was the one calling people out at this point. Wonders hadn’t left the world it seemed.
Kareva left and Dio debated if he should follow. However, that’d meant they’d win. He wasn’t going to give up yet. They’d have to make him leave. Until then he’d keep sharing his views until maybe he got through with them. “Listen if you want to have your little hug hour that’s fine by me. But I hope ya’ll understand that talking to the enemy doesn’t work. Don’t you think anyone tried yet? Of course, six people is not enough but we could grow in numbers.” His blue tense eyes went into the group, scanning the faces. “Did Potter have a nice talk with the dark lord, asking him to stop? Were it peaceful marches that defeated him? I think not. We should-”
Dio froze when an adult female appeared in the room. Oh he knew her. The little chivalry he had presented just now went out the window. His eyes narrowed and his entire being fueled with hate. “What the fuck is she doing here?” He pointed at the woman and turned to Ryker. “Please don’t tell me you allow her to be here,” he said, hoping she’d send the woman away.
He turned to the new Professor, his eyes glaring daggers. “I believe this club is not for you. Fascists aren’t welcome here,” he spat on the ground just before her feet.
“This year I promised a kid I’d do whatever I could to help make his brother’s life better. I intend to keep that promise,” his eyes turned to Morgan who was one year above him. “That kid was your little brother.” His anger fueled when Reid started verbally attacking wolves. “So? Do we judge an entire group by the actions of a few? Because why don’t we start excluding all purebloods from our society because some of them were death eaters. That’s how ridiculous you sound. I truly hope Dalas doesn’t hear you say al this,” he told the redhaired Slytherin. He stood with Kareva, nodding at the examples she gave. “Not to mention the bloody vampire attacked students and she is still here. Talking about hypocrisy.”
He huffed and turned to Kareva. “I think you’ve got more heart and soul that these cowards,” he told her what he thought, including Alex at this point. It hurt him to see his closest buddy on the opposite end of the line. Peaceful protesting, when did that ever made anyone listen? Meanwhile werewolves were being hunted like animals. They truly lived in a little fantasy world where they believed they could safe everyone if they just acted like nice kids. He huffed and crossed his arms. “Well I suppose a protest is a start. We could spread awareness,” he mumbled realizing doing something was better than doing nothing.

There were a lot of looks sent her way, words that were phrased in order to evoke sympathy from Hope, but... she was used to that. When working at the Ministry, she'd had family members come up to her every single day, begging for her to please talk to the ministry, the members of Wizengamot, make them see reason that werewolves didn't deserve this sort of treatment from society. But... did society, the wizarding world as a whole, deserve to spend their lives living in fear? Knowing that any any moment, a werewolf could attack them? Those loved ones, begging Hope to try and change the ministry's view, her view, hadn't seen what she had over the last few years.
After a few goes of squabbling back and forth, it appeared that the members of this club had decided on a rally. As long as it was peaceful, it wasn't going to harm anyone. Hope knew that well, but she also knew that it would do little good in changing many people's views about werewolves. A bunch of school kids holding signs, marching across the cobbled streets of Diagon Alley or what had them, was barely going to register as a blimp on the Ministry's radar.
Ivan's daughter piped up once more, waxing poetic about how giants, vampires and veelas hadn't hurt anyone, and Hope's brows raised because... well, maybe those people hadn't harmed a soul, but there were certainly plenty of true, factual stories on those exact beings harming others... but none of them lost control quite the way werewolves did on a full moon, did they?
A glob of spit was aimed her direction the next thing she knew and Hope, well accustomed to the angry people dealt with their feelings, moved her feet before it could make contact. "It's my job, Mr. Greyback, to attend these meetings and I'll have you know that Miss Young at the front had no choice in the matter," she said, completely ignoring the rest of his sentence because this club? It was for her, it was necessary for her to attend, and he could try his very best to move her out of the classroom but she was an Auror and good luck to him if he tried. More powerful wizards had tried to move her out of their way and failed miserably, what chance did he stand?
