With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

The cauldron was boiling at the front of the class as Ariella waited for the students to have a seat and shut their faces. Truth be told she would've discussed certain important topics like wolfsbane or how to heal yourself with self made salves or potions but truth be told if she wanted her classroom to explode and be the next professor to get reported that's exactly what she would do.
Instead she was going to give these students something else. She had written the ingredients on the board and cleared her throat.
1 powdered moonstone
syrup of hellebore
1 powdered unicorn horn
powdered porcupine quills
"Today I will teach you how to brew a potion that would bring your nerves down to the point where.. they won't be there." she said calmly, crossing her arms over her chest as she watched the brain dead apes that were her students.
"What is the common danger that comes with this potion?" she asked and eyed them all.
Add powdered moonstone until the potion turns green. Stir until the potion turns blue. Add powdered moonstone until the potion turns purple. Allow to simmer until the potion turns pink. Add syrup of hellebore until the potion turns turquoise. Allow to simmer until the potion turns purple. Shake powdered porcupine quills vigorously until they are ready and then add until the potion turns red. Stir until the potion turns orange. Add more porcupine quills until the potion turns turquoise. Allow to simmer till the potion turns purple. Add powdered unicorn horn until the potion turns pink. Stir until the potion turns red. Allow to simmer until the potion turns purple. Add more powdered moonstone until the potion turns grey. Allow the potion to simmer until it turns orange. Add more powdered porcupine quills until the potion turns white. Add 7 drops of syrup and wave your wand to finish the potion.

Potions with Professor Tyrell was always a pleasure and not a class that Aggy despised going to at all. No, she enjoyed going and sitting in a classroom for an hour where the Professor belittled her students by eyeing them like they were vermin rather than teenagers simply there to learn. Much like the Professor was doing right now.
Raising her hand, Aggy answered the question about the Draught of Peace that Tyrell posed. "If you're a modern day Einstein who doesn't weigh your ingredients first, then you risk putting too much of the ingredients in. That can lead to putting the drinker of the potion into a deep sleep, one that's irreversible at times," Aggy responded with a shrug. Not weighing ingredients sounded like something Greyson Avery would do and really, if he died of a result of ingesting a tainted potion he didn't take the time to make correctly... wasn't that just natural selection?

i desire things that will destroy me
Colwynn hated potions. She didn't have anything against her teacher, per say, but the subject bored her most of the time. She still got good marks in her class. She got good marks in all of her classes, but that didn't mean she enjoyed them. Today wasn't really an exception. Colwynn found herself thinking that if your nerves were so bad that you needed to resort to magic to fix then then you had some kind of issues and maybe relying on a potion wasn't the best course of action. Not that it really mattered.
She glanced over at Agnes when she answered and couldn't help but smirk at this. "So, basically, if you mess up you could become completely brain dead?" Colwynn added. "It almost sounds like a sniffling, sneezing, coughing so you can die medicine." Colwynn didn't mean to be rude, at least not to a teacher, but she was finding it difficult to find the current lecture to be anything she'd ever actually need.
Frankie had seated near the back of the classroom, her eyes on the cauldron at the front and she let the others answer the question. The female was in no mood due to not having her coffee that morning, and if she had to deal with other people that day in this class, so be it. The female didn’t have a major problem with the professor, and respected that she was there for the second half of the school year instead of quitting her job. She could tell that the professor had better things to do.
So instead of speaking up, she had grabbed her parchment and wrote down the ingredients down as she listened to the other two explain what the common danger was.
Charlie was oddly in a smiling mood, and greeted her classmates with a wave as she entered the classroom. Maybe perhaps it was because she had her sister’s help with her homework, and she knew that if she was caught getting help, she’d fail this class in a heartbeat and the professor scared the crap out of her sometimes. But whatever. She just smiled her way to her seat, and gave her neighbor a friendly. ”Hello.” before she had taken out the things she needed.
Parker had no problem with this class, and her grades were pretty good. It didn’t matter that it was her own sister teaching the subject, she didn’t get special treatment at all. Instead, she was treated like the other students. But that didn’t stop her from sitting in front of the classroom, her hands folded as she listened to her sister talk about the assignment of the day.
There was a time where Parker would love to use this potion on her boyfriend, but she was over it. She was happy now. For once.
Another class she hated, but had been told by her mother that she couldn’t drop it. What was the point of learning potions when all she wanted to do was to play professional Quidditch? Casey didn’t understand why she needed to know these things, but for some reason her mother was forcing this upon her and she had tried to change out of the class after the whole Oswald thing a few months back. Casey saw this as a personal attack on her mental health.
So Casey had sat down in the back, her arms tucked behind her head as she listened to what the professor had to say.
Potions was a scary class but to become a healer potions was something Ollie had to know. The girl ran a hand through her hair as she was seated beside her best friend and eyed the assignment. It wasn't the hardest potion and she listened to Agnes who answered the professor's question but Ollie felt like she forgot something so she rose her own hand as well.
"It also can cause addiction, making the drinker want to have the potion with them at all times... like a drug." she said and bit her lip. What if she said it wrong. This was Parker's sister but the professor didn't care about her friendship.
Gemini was late! Very much so. She had overslept, lost half of her clothes and now she was heading for potions, her hair a mess and her clothes a bit crooked. Her eyes were on the professor as she walked into the classroom, closing the door behind her and slipping beside Frankie. Hopefully she didn't notice that Gemini was late and the brunette tried to make herself small, she felt so bad now!
"What did i miss?" she whispered to the other girl as she took out her books.
Potions was not something he was particularly good at, but Mark felt obligated to at least giving it a try. For some reason, it was commonly expected of a Slytherin to excel in this class, which he found completely idiotic. Was it just because it was located near the Slytherin Common Room? Was it because of the famous late professor Severus Snape who had also been the Head of Slytherin and a great potions master? Or was it simply because of the eerie atmosphere in the classroom that everyone considered being very fit for the Slytherin House as well? Mark sighed as he found all the things he needed for this class.
His dark eyes scanned the blackboard upon which the ingredients were listed and the recipe for the potion of today. He let the other students answer the questions and waited for the professor to allow them to get started brewing. It was pretty easy to read a recipe, however, the potions Mark created usually lacked the finesse that came from a potions maker who put his heart and soul into the project. Well, at least he passed this class.

Most people didn't like Professor Tyrell and that wasn't Vi being a meanie weenie or anything like that, it was just a fact. More people than not didn't like to go to her classes. Vi heard the angry mutterings coming from her fellow students every time they entered the classroom, especially from people like Agnes Clearwater and Greyson Avery who often had their big cranky pants at all times of the day.
Moving into the classroom, Vi greeted Professor Tyrell like she would any of the other ones, with a bright wave and a chirpy smile. "Hiya, Professor Tyrell! You look lovely today. Did you get your hair done?" she asked before sliding into the seat beside Mark Grimstone who was also looking positively handsome in all of his broody, long-haired glory.
Nudging him lightly with her elbow after setting up her parchment, quill and ink pot, she asked with a twinkle in her eye, "Wanna go smoochie woochie after this or am I not allowed to ask that? You know, since we're not friends and all." Then she turned her attention back to the front of the class where she listened to the Professor delve into all of the nitty gritty stuff of what they were doing today. Taking her quill from the ink pot, already getting a wee bit bored, Vi started to doodle aimlessly as the other students piped up to answer Professor Tyrell's questions.

As students answered her question she felt a slight sense of relief that even though the ginger had attitude at least she wasn't making a huge fool of herself in this class like her previous students had. With a nod she looked around. "Five points to Gryffindor, Miss Clearwater has a good point. Making a mistake with this potion can cause a coma the drinker might never get out off.." she said and eyed the Hufflepuff girl who answered her as well.
"Five points to Hufflepuff for Miss Jones, the potion can be very addictive, especially to those who want to numb pain or any sort of feelings." She said and put her hands together. "The instructions are on the blackboard, start working on the potion. I'll be here to make sure no one gets hurt. Be careful." she said and leaned against her desk as she watched the students.
Gemini was happy the professor didn't call her out on being late, maybe she didn't care? The brunette wasn't going to question it and just started doing what the blackboard said, her eyes sliding over to Frankie for a moment wandering if she knew how to do this. Gemini wasn't good at potions and she was terrified of messing up. "This is hard isn't it?" she asked her softly and bit her lip.
Felix wasn't stupid enough to get this woman to hate him even more than she obviously hated the entire room already. The guy was quite sure she didn't like him one bit and he really didn't care. The boy had better things to do than impress professors so he just started to get to work and eyed Charlie beside him. "I hope you don't mind me joining you." He said politely knowing damn well if she said no then he'd stay and he would find a different partner if she said yes.
When the professor said she answered right, Ollie was over the moon. She didn't make a fool out of herself and she bumped Parker's shoulder proudly. Maybe she wasn't such a doofus after all right? The girl happily started working on the potion and frowned. "Did you see my gloves? I thought they were here?" she asked her friend and looked around her bag for a moment.
