With the capture of Verandi Farley and several high-ranking Trossach members, the British wizarding world has finally caught a break. The rate of rogue werewolf attacks have started dropping at a steady rate and, hopefully, things will stay that way. The Ministry is starting to loosen some restrictions, like not arresting werewolves standing on the street for loitering, however there’s still an obvious power imbalance between wizardfolk and werewolves.
The Cotswolds pack are continuing to advocate for the rights of werewolves and petitioning to change the legislation that has been set in motion by the current Minister for Magic, whilst the remaining Trossachs members are trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep a low profile… for now.
Whilst the British wizarding world seems to have calmed down, the same cannot be said for over in Northern Europe where a rebellion of magical creatures has risen. The state of things has gotten so bad that the European Ministry has enacted protocols to protect those under eighteen whilst their adult witches and wizards fight to keep control of their countries.
Students from Durmstrang have been sent to Hogwarts to keep them safe and those not old enough to attend school have been sent to live with relatives or designated British Ministry officials outside of Europe for the time being.
Will the low rates of werewolf attacks in Britain continue? How long will Durmstrang students stay at Hogwarts? Will the creatures usurp the wizardfolk in Northern Europe? Only time will tell.
SEPTEMBER 2019 It's been a very long, eventful summer in the wizarding world. A baby was stolen, several high ranking Trossach members were imprisoned, and werewolf attacks have drastically dropped as a result. What will happen now school has returned?
MAY 2019 An attempt to capture the beta of the Trossachs has been launched. Were the Aurors successful in their mission? Go read more here!

Strangely enough Archie didn’t feel unsafe returning to Hogwarts after the holidays. Maybe the multiple therapy sessions he had attended over the Christmas break had done the trick or maybe, and the more likely reason, he was just used to the feeling of fear and dread that had sat in the pit of his stomach since he was 9 years old. He had continued to live in the family house following the break in and threat on his life - he could do the same with Hogwarts.
There was a general sense of tiredness and unease that sat over the castle and he noticed how several students would jump or freeze at the sound of a door closing suddenly, not to mention there were groups who would hesitate outside of the Great Hall for a few minutes before apparently gathering the courage to go inside. His pride didn’t get in the way of him admitting he was one of those students. He had taken to spending more time in the kitchens at night making himself enough food to snack on so he could spend as little time in the Great Hall as possible. Otherwise he had taken to piling food onto his plate and finding a quiet nook somewhere in the castle or on the grounds.
Lunch today was one of those times. A couple of sandwiches and fries piled on his plate as he sat rugged up on a bench in the school courtyard with Mitzy, his 4 year old grey ragdoll cat, sat next to him. She was nudging his arm as he tried eating and started meowed impatiently at him.
“What? I fed you already!” She meowed again, this time a little angrier. “Really? Even Scottish cats have attitude, huh?” He chucked a piece of luncheon meat to her and she caught it before it hit the bench.

Leaving the Great Hall with a spring in her step, sandwich clutched firmly with one hand, Vi was excited. She was planning on eating outside in the courtyard today in order to enjoy the beautiful weather. Was it sunny and shining? No, of course not. It was only January, after all. But it for the first time in yonks, it wasn't dark, gloomy or pouring down rain. It was just a wee bit chilly instead and she had a big coat on as well as a knitted scarf wrapped around her neck to protect herself from those elements anyway.
Reaching the courtyard, Vi let out a great big yawn, wondering if perhaps she should have grabbed herself a coffee for lunch too but... no, that was not a good idea unless she wanted to be positively bouncing off the walls like she had been the last time she'd thought that drinking a coffee was a grand idea. She could cope with a bit of tiredness, especially given that it was self-inflicted from her late night painting sesh anyway. Oopsie doopsies!
Glancing around her shoulder to find a seat, Vi's eyes light up as she found the most perfect seat of all and she wandered straight to it, dropping her bottom straight down onto Archie's lap with a bright smile. "Hiya Archiekins! Can I just say a bit of a break has done wonders for you? Look at how positively super duper handsome you're looking on this beautiful, nippy day," she chattered, before giving a little wave to Archie's familiar cat, Mitzy. "Whatcha doing?"

Before he could respond to Mitzy’s new round of attitude ridden meows something suddenly dropped onto his lap. Well, not something. Someone. A pretty someone with blond hair and the chirpiest personality of anyone he knew. The one and only Viola Rosaline! Now that would brighten anyone’s day. Her sudden appearance had Archie putting his plate of food onto the bench next to him so he wouldn’t drop it. Mitzy quickly saw her chance and dug out a full slice of meat, running off with it.
“Oi, come back!” He called after her as she disappeared around a corner. He shook his head and turned his attention back to the pretty girl on his lap.
“That non existent Scottish winter sun - does wonders for a person.” A chuckle escaped his lips as he pressed them to Vi’s cheek. He couldn’t fight the smugness that rose up when Viola called him handsome. Not that he would want to fight it. Who didn't want a girl complimenting them? Especially a girl as gorgeous as Vi. “I got to see my therapist, help decorate his office for Christmas, got to eat Christmas cookies…” He answered her seriously.
He may or may not have taken up an entire day of his therapist’s day. From 8am all the way through to 5pm, then continued it over burgers at a diner. It had been just what the doctor ordered. Literally.
“What’s a pretty girl like you doing having lunch by herself?”

"That's why everyone in Hogwarts looks so fab - constant exposure to the clouds," Vi joked backwards, leaning into the press of his lips against her cheek. They were although like most boys, a bit of chapstick wouldn't have hurt him. At least he didn't smell though like some - okay, most of the Ravenclaw boys. Sometimes Vi wanted to sneakity sneak into their bathroom and place a great big bottle of deodorant spray on the bench, though even then... would they use it? Probably not!
As Archie explained about seeing his therapist, Vi bobbed her head as she listened because that sounded like a lot of fun! "Awesome! That's pretty neato, that your therapist lets you decorate his office, and I love Christmas cookies because who doesn't? They're, like, the bees knees. Did you make them and lick the spoon?" Vi asked, her mind pleasantly wandering to the thought of the way Archie would have looked after gobbling down a bunch of cookies, crumbs lining his lips. Crumbs that Vi would have very much offered to lick off, a twinkle in her eye all the while.
"A pretty girl like me? Gosh, you're a charmer, Archie," Vi said, moving a hand to play with the hair at the back of his neck. Why? Just because she could and really... she just liked the intimacy of the whole thing, of being able to touch people and be close to them. A cheeky grin donned Vi's face as she said, "I'm not alone now though, am I? Lucky me."
